I always cringe when clubs make such threats to the fans. Seen it at Newport with Mallett nearly every week begging for more fans through the gate and it honestly usually made the crowds for the next meeting worse. Clubs should be able to provide everything required to operate without making threats. An insult to the paying fans who have attended all season.

Surely stay well clear of Kemp next season. Hes about as useful as a wallet full of johnnys in a bar full of lesbians. Batchelor would be my first name on the team sheet, hes been brilliant for Worky this year. Jeppesen has dropped off massively in the second half of the season, if it was purely injury related then he would also have to be a cert.

Threatening closure because they cant afford an air fence is pathetic. If you were a potential investor into the air fence and you read the press release they put out, you would stay well clear. Another prime example of why speedway isn't classed as a professional sport in the Uk by most.

I see Plymouth have got the begging bowl out stating if they dont raise 46k for a new air fence they wont be open next season! Have promotions over the years that making such threats does no good? Anyone with half a brain cell isn't going to invest in a new fence for a club that isn't financially able to afford it themselves.

CVS obviously isnt going to be interested, hes getting on in age now to say the least and has had to overcome some serious illnesses. I have seen at least 20 people on the Newport sos page saying how they miss the sport and its an outrage the council hasn't brought it back etc.. yet i didnt see them attend a Newport meeting since the Smart and Henriksson days. People come out once its too late in support but weren't there when the club needed them. I know circs are different at Wolves regarding the closure but expecting anyone to put money into a club to start again when they can see whats happening to the sport around them is insane. I am stunned Northampton happened to be honest, yes they are getting good crowds now but all new clubs do for the first season or 2. Once fans get sick of seeing a poor side they drop off thats why its crucial Northampton have a decent team next year.

There clearly isn't the demand for it back. No good sulking and stamping your feet on here. The sport is absolutely on its arse in the UK. Look at the money Workington are losing and you would imagine Northampton will be losing next season etc. The sport never moved on from years gone by and is still stuck in the 70s/80s and the people who were fans then are either too old or have passed away. The sport had the world at its feet when Sky Sports first got involved but made an absolute ballsup of that and now look at it. I loved going to Newport every week from the relaunch until its closure but realise the crowds werent there, promotion losing money etc, sometimes its best to enjoy the good memories and move on. Wolves aren't wanted at Monmore and theres no big effort to get them anywhere else, that should tell you something.

I think the fact Berwick have a 100 percent record at home proves fans will turn up to watch a winning side at home. Throw in a cup final after knocking out the league champions elect as well and its no wonder the crowd was big. Fans dont care about the racing on the whole , they want to see their team win. Exeter were proof of this, great spectacle of a track with you being so close to the action but mainly gate and go, heavy home wins every week and they had good crowds right up until they shut despite usually being rubbish away from home. That was great entertainment though if both were let at it down in the pits after there would of been only one winner and wouldnt of been Emil. Whether Cairns was right or wrong , being a knob or not, the sport desperately needs new fans and stuff like this wont do any harm.

Lynn not for the first time have a side that looks great on paper but falls short. Is Lyon a good a manager as what people say? Lets be honest, he done well with them in the old Premier League but some of the teams built it would of been hard not to do well they were that strong. Since rejoining the top division, they have been nearer the bottom than the top most of the time and mainly under Lyon's management. The sad thing is the stadium, from what I remember, was more than decent for a speedway stadium, good fanbase and large crowds. With the right management it should be a thriving club.

People need to drop the idea of hosting any important meeting at Belle Vue. I have seen people suggesting every important meeting in the British calendar should be held there. The crowds for second tier pairs, fours or riders championships there would be rubbish.

Baffling why riders don't ride as a pair sometimes in meetings like this. Seen it so many times over the years, instead of team riding and settling for a heat advantage their ego gets the better of them and they end up costing their team.

The fact Harris left his comments open so long on his post about the incident allowing some of the comments to be posted is bonkers. For what its worth I don't mind either rider, looks to me as if Harris turned his bike to stop and took Barker off by mistake. Can't comment on the stamping incident as there are bikes in the way but would imagine if he did stamp on him then more Plymouth riders and officials would of been kicking off about it. Some lad claiming to be Harris' mechanic is on there posting all sorts of comical threats, threatening to rip Barkers throat out next time he sees him.
