Belle Vue -v- Swindon Monday 17th August
acef replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I agree. What I'm trying to say is that he could be a bit more graceful in defeat and not spit his dummy every single time. Have a read of mark lemons take on it on the BV website. That is a dignified and fair response. Congratulated Swindon on the point. Despite that it could prove crucial to us in the end. Rosco is a big baby. Always has been always will be. -

Correct. I can tell you there was nothing wrong with the track. In fact it was prepared brilliant like it has been for a while now under Colin. He's just a sour man and doesn't like losing. Utterly disrespectful to BV and actually very two faced but I won't go into that -

Just read rossiters comments. What a sour deluded twisted human being. I hate the man. I could use other words but I won't because it'll get me in trouble. Hope he never manages team gb he is an utter disgrace -
Belle Vue, Kings Lynn Or Swindon For 3rd/4th Spot

Flipping good on BV for not letting our riders guest for play off rivals. How anyone can argue with that is beyond me. Absolutely and completely the right thing to do. -
Poole Pirates Vs Belle Vue Aces 12/08/15
acef replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This BV team fights. It never knows when it's beaten. That's a great quality to have. On paper we don't look nearly as strong as Poole but I'm sure the lads will put in a fight and you never know, with the tactical we could steal a point. -

Think KL are right up against it now. Every fixture raced for these 3 teams are massive. BV at Poole tomorrow I think they will need to pick up a point and also beat Wolves away because I can see Swindon winning at Kirky Lane. For me I think Lynn will be the ones to drop out with their terrible luck with injuries -
North will not have it quite so easy as 2nd heatleader, vs 2nd string with Poole. We are still stronger at reserve. Saying that though, this is going to be a hard meeting. The most important thing is a win and if that is 46-44 then I'll take that right now, but I'm going to put my neck out and predict an away win.

Belle Vue Aces V Poole Pirates 03.08.15

No average fixing tonight BV were just better. Sharper from the tapes. Some good racing tonight, Scott's pass in heat 13 was a belter. Thanks to wolbert as well paid for 8 points can't argue with that. It's not over till it's over people, it's neck and neck for that last spot -

Wolbert has had some very good meetings at BV. A lot for Poole iirc. Josh scored 6 last week. As a 2nd string as long as he scores 4-6 points that's all we can ask The biggest issue recently is Nichols he is in poor form and needs to step up to the party tonight. Going to be very close -

It won't be postponed the club can't afford that As much as what happened to Lewis is horrible (and I wish him and his family well) it's speedway I'm afraid. It's dangerous and the lads know what the risks are. You can't drop fixtures based on this. It will hurt us tonight and I fully expect Poole to win and that will be the end of our play off hopes. As josh was directly involved I would give him the day off but no announcement so I'd imagine he's riding -

I can't imagine Josh would want to race tomorrow. I watched him for the aces last Wednesday, then I travelled over to watch him at Sheffield. He then went to Somerset Friday and down to Plymouth Saturday before Peterborough today. That's 5 consecutive days racing and a load of miles he is probably out of it now. With what happened today thrown in I can't imagine he would be in any state to ride. Tbh if I was BV I'd be telling him to have the day off. -
BV have been getting decent crowds this year. Certainly up to the top as far that goes. There is a lot more enthusiasm given that we are least competitive and have something to race for now. It's been a long time The issue with Wednesday is last one was called off when fans were in stadium and paid up Colin doesn't get to the track until later so can't determine what the state is and that is the biggest crowd factor But tonight should be normal as we had no meeting on Monday

Lakeside are stronger for R/R but really weak reserves. If AJ is even slightly off it then BV should be hitting at least 50. Need to buckle up now, make sure we win all our home meetings as a minimum going into the business end.

Kings Lynn Vs Belle Vue : Wed 23rd July
acef replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Zagar/Cook/Stead scored 8 between them last time. Max and Scotty enjoy it here. Josh will score more than the 1 point Stead scored last time. I am going to stick my neck out, if Zagar turns up I think BV will win. I only say that because KL have a few niggling injuries and we will out score you at reserve, which means your top 5 need to cover that difference. Going to be close I certainly think BV will take something even if not the win. -
Leicester V Belle Vue Saturday 11.04.15
acef replied to barrow boy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Shocking from Stead. We actually did better than I thought. If I was Leicester I'd be more than a tad worried, because I think with Cook and Zagar last night BV would have won this meeting. I rate this Leicester team, but I think the constant public bashing from Allen is having a negative impact. What BV need to do in away meetings is move Stead to 3 and Scott to 5. It will make us a lot stronger. Whilst I'm dissapointed, I'm not overly concerned because I can see us winning all of our home meetings. I think we are only a switch in riding order away from home, from picking the odd point. -
And if you could let us know where he specifically refers to that broad generalisation being on a good Friday. What he actually said was 'the track at kirky lane has not been good for a number of years'. Completely different paragraph to the one that talks about good Friday.

There is not a prayer for this meeting. Solid rain from 11pm tonight until 4pm tomorrow. Its been updated a lot but the closer you get the more accurate it becomes. Hope they call it early and save riders wasted flights and time.

I can't agree with this. I don't think BV have failed to deliver over recent history. I just think we have tracked some really poor teams. We have always made 1 or 2 mistakes in the past that have cost us. I thought the 2011 team was OK, best one they have put out until now, but it was only ever a mid table team at best. So for me I don't see it as flattering to deceive, I've just seen some really poor teams. This year, though, is different. I genuinely don't see a weakness. We may be suspect on the road in some cases, but as a general principle it is very solid with good reserves. I don't personally see us finishing 2nd as some have said, because I see stronger teams, but I'll be amazed if this team doesn't make the play offs. For me, now everyone is finished. I think what is now incredibly clear, that the BSPA can no longer be trusted as an organisation. Unfortunately that throws a blanket over the entire sport, because they are responsible for it. Such negligence, as has been highlighted, is inexcusable. There are so many people involved in it, it has its own type of bureaucracy, that invents its own rules. It has essentially been a semi-professional sport for a long time now, attempting to be professional. For the record I'm behind this 100%. In principle I agree with the criteria set by UKV&I and find it astounding that such a body as the BSPA can fail, so spectacularly, to adhere to the rules set. It is truly incredible. For a long time there has needed to be an independent body governing this sport. Whilst its run by the promoters for the promoters we will continue to be dragged through the dark ages. If ever you needed proof that this sport is being run this way to satisfy certain circles and individuals, then this is it. Jobs for the boys. From the bottom, the entire product needs looking into. I'm fully behind the young brits being given a better speedway education. That starts in the NL, through to a reserve spot in the PL, and then to the EL. If your good enough, of course. The PL needs to take some responsibility for that instead of filing the league with journeymen foreigners. I'm hoping they go hard with this, and make an example of the BSPA. The problem there is keeping the integrity of the sport intact, and just the sport as a general principle, operating. Its so fragile, so poorly run, it will take essentially nothing to bury it into the ground. I think the biggest irony of all, is that a bit of basic common sense could have seen this sport working like it should, because the very criteria given to achieve the visa in the first place would have stopped 90% of the problems. The answer was staring at them all along.

S W C - Who Will Be Picked For Uk
acef replied to michaelcroucher's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I actually agree that stead is the best option, you have a team there that can ride bigger tracks and that's exactly what we needed. We should get to the play-off, at which point we can say goodnight. Seems Bridger is suggesting he may quit. -

Polish Play-off Semi-final 1st Leg 8th Sept
acef replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
Hes been a yard of the pace all season, for most of that he hasnt really been fit. Thought again tonight he looked slow, he isnt gating at all but mostly has lost that ruthless streak he once had. It wasnt that long ago he was a 10 point rider, always there in the GPs but that is under threat now if he doesnt qualify, no certainty to get a seed either. Thought riding for BV would have helped his season, its one of his better tracks but its the other way unfortunately. -

Janus has been flying all season. Dont know if hed want to ride over here but there will be a line of clubs waiting to sign him. Immense tonight. Good meeting as well, thought the track was slick but very fast and still some decent racing, personally Id have put Holder out in 15 instead of Andersen, other way round with hans in 14 if that was possible.
