  1. 3 decent ht leaders and 3 new 3 pointers and 1 has to ride at 2 or 4 which is going to be hard to score any points for one of them it’s got to be a decent last rider using the points left or could see them struggling home and away
  2. My son needed some track time Before the season starts and with the weather up here in Glasgow really bad decided to head south we had planned to practice at Scunthorpe on Saturday But it was cancelled so we new rye house was also open Saturday and weather looked ok so just kept going south and glad we did got plenty Laps in to blow the cobwebs away
  3. Yes some still there but look like they have flattened a few
  4. Was at rye house yesterday with my son for a practice I must say they are doing a lot of great work off track and it’s looking good and a lot has changed since the last time we were there a few years ago ,the track was perfect and a pleasure to ride a near perfect track according to my son 98%(a little more shale on it Would have been 100% lol) considering the way the weather had been the last few weeks and will provide great racing soon so whoever is doing the track there i take my hat off to you , it was worth the very long 820 mile journey and they are very hopeful that there will be a team coming to the tapes next season
  5. Ashtech the engine tuner has just posted a picture of 2 brand new engines ready and waiting for crumpy I think he will do well personally
  6. It’s a lot lot harder for us up here as its really 2 days for the iow trip and pretty much the same for Plymouth and it could be even worse if you get there and it’s called off and if the rider has a full time job , it’s hard to fit all meetings around work holidays it’s a hard journey back when you know you have got to start work at 7.30 the next day and you only got in at 4
  7. First thing Rob Grant really did at Newcastle when he took over was to borrow a big blade from Redcar and sort the track out first ,Rob being a ex rider I think he knows that a good prepared track will give great racing and he knows if new comers come and watch fast exciting racing with plenty passing they would maybe come back ,Having the right equipment makes all the difference Stuart Swales does a great job with what he had but putting a blade on it at the start of the season and getting it right from the start should make it easier to maintain durning the season Then the next thing he did was put his own catering in mmmmmm looking forward to sampling his hog roasts and burgers
  8. I think championship racing will need a better prepared race track to race on where as the Nl riders will ride just about anything Really As they don't moan much Kent track the way it has been the last few years we have raced there won’t make for good fast entertaining racing it’s pretty much a one line track but could be a lot better with a little bit of work
  9. They tend to water a bare track too often which causes most of the falls it’s like riding on ice
  10. the team would have been sent for approval before announced but it takes over 2 weeks after that before they say it’s not allowed
  11. Think it’s maybe because he already has a nl club with a small track
  12. Nathan Greaves signs great signing
  13. There’s 3 challenge meeting in April v Berwick ,Redcar ,Ashfield there in the fixtures
  14. From Rob Grants Facebook page Well folks im going to do this a bit different to how it should be done, but after all i am the gaffer ha. The 2020 Newcastle Gems 1. Max Clegg 2. Joe Alcock 3. Jamie Halder 4. Josh Embleton 5. Leon Flint 6. Ryan Mcdonald 7. Archie Freeman I am very proud, that my first season in charge I will be doing something for the British youth and helping them through the ranks of British Speedway. Good luck for this season lads.
  15. Having been there a few times over the last 3 years with my son racing Nl you just need to listen to the riders in the pits (home and away riders )moaning about the state of the track the worst bit is usually watering a slick bare track then it is like riding on marbles and the same holes ruts appears mid corners put a bit more shale on it and get rid of the negative camber on 3-4 and it would be ten times better racing
  16. The amount of times I have been there and there’s not a bit of shale on the track and the bowser comes out you should have heard the riders moaning when standing at the top of the hill
  17. And now with planing Consent approved for 80 houses on the Edinburgh monarchs track they might be a one season wonder in the nl https://planning.westlothian.gov.uk/publicaccess/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=OVSOU9RJGAW00
  18. There was a break in at northside over new year setting a lot of the equipment on fire
  19. It’s a great shape of track but with too Narrow straights which makes the corner entries Really tight but If they banked All the corners a bit more And got rid of the negative cambers which means you can race into the bends a lot faster Without fear and probably create a lot more racing lines
  20. Leicester struggle with 14 riders and their vans god knows how they will accommodate 40
