  1. It was basically an interview that was recorded some weeks ago because it was mentioned that Lions were bottom of the league. It was obviously aimed at people who were new to speedway as DH explained the rules & how the bikes worked etc. Then Alan Jones gave a brief history of the Lions from the 1930's to the present day & gave details about where the present track was. DH gave a brief run down about the team, naming the riders & what nationality they were etc. This was spread over 2 hours & little clips were played in between music & other items Frankly it was just aimed at trying to attract people new to the sport so became a little boring & I gave up listening after about an hour and an half, so I didn't hear the last part, but the way it was going I don't think anything interesting regarding next season was going to be said.
  2. Can't understand why the Lions didn't ask him to guest more than twice, especially given his performance's at BP this season for Lakeside & guesting for KL.
  3. In he match report of the Coventry meeting, Norrie says he has booked Lawson & Ellis to guest at Wolves to replace Walasek & Auty. Wonder if they asked Nicholls who has exactly the same average as Walasek & is already there with Belle Vue, surely would have been a better bet.
  4. TEAMS: LIONS 1. Doyle 2. Klindt 3. Walasek 4. Swiderski 5. Wozniak 6. Lambert 7. Wilkinson Poole 1.Holder 2. Watt 3. North 4. Gomolski 5. Janowski 6. Starke 7. Newman
  5. I didn't know it was the GP challenge next saturday & hadn't took into account the Polish fixtures on Sunday, just going by the fact Sat 5th Sept. was down as reserved in the Lions programme. As you say that looks unlikely now, especially, given the fact that Peterborough have called off today's meeting with Somerset & have re-arranged for Saturday which also rules out Starke from Poole's team.
  6. I presume if it's rained off, the re-staging date would be next Saturday, 5th Sept. as there is no GP.
  7. Presume it will be Lambert at reserve not Nielsen, as Nielsen will be at Wolves with Belle Vue. And although Lambert is at Peterborough they start at 3.00pm, so should be at Leicester along with Starke & C.Wright who all ride in the same meeting. If he is riding hope he looks fitter than he did last week, when he certainly didn't appear anywhere near 100% , not helped by the fact Wozniak nearly wiped him out causing to shut off & lose a place in heat 4. Looking at the latest weather forecast, it doesn't look too good. Maybe Shale Searcher can give us his forecast, he's usually pretty accurate.
  8. Lambert doesn't miss Thursdsay because Leicester's meeting is a re-arranged meeting.
  9. Teams on Lions website KL: 1 Iversen 2.Porsing 3. Lambert 4. Bjerre 5.Milik 6. Wilkinson 7 Morris LIONS : 1.Doyle 2.Masters 3. Walasek 4. Wozniak 5. Swiderski 6.S.Lambert 7. Garrity
  10. Teams now on Lions website Lions: 1. Doyle 2.Masters 3.Walasek 4. Wozniak 5. Swiderski 6 S.Worrall (G) 7 S.Lambert Wolves 1.Lindgren 2. Thorsell 3.Wells 4. Musielak 5.Karlsson 6.Sargeant (G) 7. Clegg (G) According to website Masters & Lambert first have to come through premier league matches today & tomorrow before they will know if they are fit enough to return. Although looking at the Edingurgh website they still have R/R for Masters for tonight's fixture. For Wolves, Bates is with GB U-21'S & Blackbird has announced his retirement with immediate effect. Although looks like the weather maybe the winner with possible downpours forecast for saurday evening.
  11. Not saying Auty is better than Garrity around Monmore, he certainly isn't. But Auty hasn't rode there as a FTR before under the current race format & i'm pretty sure under that format & the fact Blackbird was injured Auty would have at least matched Garrity's score if he'd ridden 6 times like Garrity did.
  12. Couldn't agree more about the comments regarding Lions team. People commenting about how weak KL seem to forget Lions also had 3 riders missing which has been the case for about the last 6 or 7 weeks. The guests that we get in never seem to be a great success, where guests other teams choose always seem to be a trump card, as illustrated last night ( Lions guests 8+2, KL guests 22+5) & the same thing happened in the previous home match against Lakeside. The fact that Auty as only managed 6 meetings, when he was expected to be one of the best FTR has been a major blow. But like you said Lions are far too weak away from home & no way is Swiderski a no.5, but i think when we signed him it was a case of beggar's can't be choosers.
  13. I think you r'e being a bit pessimistic there. Lynn have the better reserve pairing, it's unlikely Greenwood will take any points of the KL reserves & Ellis was excellent a couple of weeks ago when he rode at Leicester. Swiderski hasn't been at all impressive & is certainly not heat-leader standard, although he might get a couple more points than Rosen. Porsing should out score Summers easily enough. Overall i think it will be close could be 4 points in it either way.
  14. Always going to struggle to find a decent guest for Masters because of his low average & the fact there is a lot of premier league sides riding tomorrow doesn't help.Reserve guests seem a bit strange, they wait for Sargeant to hit his worst form of the season then pick him. But again the situation isn't helped by the amount of riders on the fast track list either injured or already riding tomorrow.
  15. With all the changes made, Lakeside have booked some good guests & their line-up certainly looks stronger than Lions, can only see an away win.
  16. Krcmar had ridden at Leicester before, in an u-21 qualifer last season, scoring 9pts.
  17. The Lions match report on the website says Masters suffered a dislocated right thumb, doesn't mention a broken hand. Can anybody confirm what the injury was ?
  18. Teams now on Lions website Lions :1. Doyle 2.Masters 3. R/R for Walasek 4. Wozniak 5.Swiderski 6. S.Lambert 7. Wilkinson ( G) Swindon 1 To be confirmed 2.Krcmar 3. Morris 4.Zengota 5. Cook (G) 6.Roynon (G) 7.Rose
  19. I have to agree, whilst I applauded the Leicester promotion for their pricing of the sky meeting & the way they promoted it. I being a season ticket holder was disappointed that we received nothing in the way of free food/drink like those that paid on the night did, or unlike last season when Lions were on sky a free programme for 2 meetings, which did compensate for the price reduction a bit. But this season, nothing, which having paid up front is a bit of a kick in the teeth & is going to make people think twice about buying a season ticket again.
  20. Voucher was in last Mondays mercury, i believe, not today's
  21. Walasek missing is a big blow. Averaging 9.60 in his home matches. Should make Swindon favorites to win now, especially with Wilkinson replacing Auty.
  22. It's 3.50 & not rained for a couple of hours, but some dark clouds about.
