  1. If 7 day rule still applies why did Klindt ride at Leicester on 3 successive Saturdays for 3 different teams ( Lions,Poole ,Somerset)
  2. Will probably be a bit closer than I originally thought now MPT in for Auty. Bates the key man as he will probably have 7 rides now, because only MPT & the reserves can take Riss's rides. Think you could be about right with that score.
  3. Bjerre missing for Belle Vue( SGP Qualifier) . Riss missing for Lions. Belle Vue 1. Fricke 2.R/R for Bjerre 3.S.Worrall 4.Sedgeman 5. Cook 6.Bewley 7.Smith Lions 1. Nilsson 2.Auty 3.Gomolski 4.Heeps ( guest) 5. King 6.Bates 7.Ayres Easy home win on the cards.
  4. Couldn't agree more with what you say. Whatever the problems in the past with the shape of the track etc. one thing you could always rely on was that it would look smooth & appeared before the meeting started to have an even covering of shale all over. When Glyn graded he would start from the inside & work outwards or vice versa, covering the whole width of the track. The new curator just seems to drive round on one line with the grader hardly touching the surface, which doesn't spread the shale around. It seemed on Saturday that there was little dirt on the inside but then a line about mid track & towards the fence were it suddenly went much thicker but he just drove over it hardly touching it. 3 meetings in now & the track has been different each time, it's not giving the riders any home advantage. I don't know if the owners take any notice of the fans views, but if they do please ask Glyn back.
  5. Bjerre is better than Auty & is the obvious change really, it would certainly strengthed the team. It would be a little harsh on Auty as he's only had 1 home meeting so far & not done alot wrong, but for the sake of the team it would be the right thing to do. The only thing as Flagrag mentioned is that it would mean Bates & Bjerre missing when Sheffield are riding. Also it would give Lions an extra 0.37 to play with average wise plus the 0.63 they are under the limit, meaning a whole point spare before the average changes in May. With that I think they should be looking to replace Ayres, who despite his best efforts & no -one could accuse him of not trying ( sometimes think he tries too hard for his own good), seems to struggle to get round without coming to grief or impeding his team mate. Replacing Auty with Bjerre would mean Lions could replace Ayres with someone up to 4.61.
  6. The Leicester v Somerset was originally due to happen on May 6th, then re-arranged for 15th April, that's why Starke rides for Panthers. Klindt guests for Somerset against Leicester.
  7. Morris had to withdraw from guesting for Poole this evening after blowing both his engines, guesting for them this morning, hope he has them fixed for tomorrow.
  8. I don't know whether I'm reading the rules regarding guests properly, but looking at the green sheet averages on SGB site, it shows Riss averaging 6.85, his current CMA, then in column B it shows the average at +5% if a home rider is missing, which is 7.19, but at the top of the page it says 5% does not apply to a D/U rider or a rider with a assessed CMA. So with Riss being a D/U rider surely the 5% addition does not count, if so that makes Schelin ( average 7.17) ineligible. Could someone who understands the rules better than me explain.
  9. Why did Lions have guests for King(2nd in averages) & Auty(4th) , last week then & guest for Riss (5th) tonight at Somerset.?
  10. I think so, we had 2 guests last week, one of which was for a second-string(Auty).
  11. Surely they won't go R/R for Riss, that would only leave 2 weak reserves & Auty to take his 4 rides.
  12. Bates & Riss missing will be massive blow to Lions, both have had excellent starts to the season. Guests for Riss might not be too bad, possibly Starke or Charles Wright, but different matter for Bates, especially has his average was amended down from 5.02 to 4.89 in the week, only obvious looking guests are ex-Lions Graversen or Hall, which means Klindt should have a very easy time at reserve, expect him to have at least 6 rides & he'll be disappointed if he doesn't get 13 or 14 points. If Poole don't win by at least 6-8 points i'll be most surprised.
  13. On the subject of fixture clashes one of the news items on the Lions website today says the meeting with Somerset on the 24/06 as been moved to the 10/06 with the co-operation of Somerset so Lions can field their full side, King & Riss would have been missing , which is great news. Whilst I was looking at the fixtures I noticed that the Swindon meeting which was on the 29th July ( even in last Saturdays programme) is now listed as being on Monday 17th July, just 2 days after the Kings Lynn meeting on Sat, the 15th, it seems odd to have 2 home meetings in 3 days, I'm wondering if it's been changed for TV coverage. There is no news item or notification on the website as to why it's been altered. It also seems odd that this is the first day of the school holidays, & lots of people will be away, so would have thought this would effect the crowd. Personally speaking I purchased a season ticket on the basis I wouldn't miss any meetings, I go away on the 17th, so am now going to miss this.
  14. Didn't think the track produced any better racing than last season, but it's early days & hopefully when it's bedded down it will be ok, the shape & width of the bends certainly looked better. The score flattered Swindon a little with Riss , Ayres & Gomolski ( twice) ,all falling when in points scoring positions. Particularly impressed with Bates & Riss, especially Riss who beat Doyle in his first race on the track & possibly could have had a paid maximum if he hadn't have overcooked the 2nd bend having flew out of the gate in his 2nd ride. It's a pity both will be missing next week against Poole, it's going to be hard to find someone decent to replace Bates on his low average.
  15. Still can't work out why they didn't have Klindt guesting for Auty & R/R for King, would have made us stronger.
  16. Don't think Bates is missing, just Auty & King I think. Klindt is the obvious replacement for Auty. King is more difficult, Rye House & Wolves meet each other so none of their riders available. Then it's the Peter Craven Memorial Trophy at Belle Vue, which if the field hasn't changed rules out Belle Vues riders, all of Somersets heat-leaders including Houggard. Pooles top 2 have higher averages than King, Kurtz is at Belle Vue. From Kings Lynn Holder's average is too high, Lambert is riding for Newcastle & Batchelor is at Belle Vue. So unless there's someone I've missed can only see R/R for King.
  17. Damien Bates was on East Midlands News last night saying he was very confident the track would be ready, but looking at Saturday's weather forecast ( heavy thundery showers) , that maybe immaterial anyway.
  18. Yes, Auty is a Scunthorpe asset so he will be missing too.
  19. Opening fixture against Swindon, Lions will be missing King & Auty. That's the only problem now with 4 double-up riders & a lot of Championship teams riding Saturdays it could mean a lot of guests are needed.
  20. Lions website says that Lebdevs representatives have told them he is required to attend training 3 times in April & May with his Polish club that clash with Lions fixtures. And are also concerned about it happening again later in the season & didn't want to risk having to field weaken sides. It is unfortunate for Wolbert but I think it does make us a slighter stronger side, if a little weak in the 2nd string area with Riss & Auty at 2&4.
  21. When you say it's been mixed, is it mixed & on the track or is it mixed & still to be laid on the track. Will it be bedded down & in good order for P&P next Wednesday.
