The meeting will be streamed live on this Link from 9am on Saturday https://youtu.be/bxVAlKwRxL0 and 9am on Sunday on this link https://youtu.be/3DUovfx8JYk The feeds so far this season have been reasonably good, so see how Ufa manage
  4. There doesn't appear to be any Ice Speedway Coverage on Motors TV this month but they intend showing the Gladaitors Series. Isn't there any footage on You Tube?
  5. You have to hand it to their organisation, as they sent out the cancellation pretty promptly once they knew it was off. Looks like I'm back snapping footy that weekend, so my first Ice Racing meeting of the season will be Berlin in March now.
  6. RUSSIAN UNDER 21 CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI FINAL, KAMENSK URAL, Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th January 2016 Evgeny Saydullin (Togliatti) 27 (15+12), Dmitri Solyannikov (Sterlitamak) 26 (14+12), Yuri Oleynik (Shadrinsk) 25 (11+14), Maksim Sidorov (Shadrinsk) 23 (11+12), Nikita Shadrin (Ufa) 21 (10+11), Nikita Tarasov (Sterlitamak) 19 (9+10), Vadim Svinuhov (Sterlitamak) 17 (6+11), Roman Knyazev (Blagoveshchensk) 14 (7+7), Alex Karatysh (Kamensk Ural) 13 (5+8), Mikhail Afanansyev 11+3 (5+6), Viktor Jaroslavtev (Shadrinsk) 11+2 (8+3), Dmitri Sterlkov (Izhevsk) 7 (1+6), Nikita Razmadze (Tyumen) 6 (3+3), Viktor Muravenkov (Tyumen) 5 (3+2), Alexander Kozyrev (Kamensk Ural) 4 (4+ DNR), Dmitri Zverev (Shadrinsk) 3 (2+1), Ranis Minéavletov (Ufa) 3 (3+0), Ilya Kochnev 0 (0+0) Final at Lukhovitsy 23rd/24th January
  7. According to http://www.speedway.org the first three reserves are: 19 Max Neidermaier 20 Antonin Klatovsky 21 Harald Simon
  8. Maybe it was a rule that was never continued with, but has become an accepted practice over the years?
  9. I would agree on that. But apart from Tomi Tani and Mats Jarf, I've not seen many Finns who are as good as them. The Finnish team last year in Berlin were only marginally better than the Swiss, and it was Tani who saved them from humiliation. Knapp's death stalled Polish Ice Racing for a while, but they seem to be training again and trying to bring new kids through, as for the Dutch, Jesper says Rene Stellingwerf is taking a year out and Reitsma didn't go to the qualifiers. I spoke to Gerrit Schukken in Berlin last year and he is taking a year out on medical advice, but hopes to be back in next season. I'm sure Jesper will tell us if Bolt is injured or not. \ At least there are a few new faces in the line up - Ledstrom, Svensson, Henderson, Myshkovets and Seifter, all of whom have potential. I read about it in Ivan Maugers book 'Triple Crown Plus' when he rode in the mid 60s
  10. Just had word from Austria that the European Final at St Johann has been cancelled. The weather makes it impossible for a track to be laid and to stay frozen. Temperatures are predicted to rise above freezing for the next week. No news of a restaging or moving of the event. I seem to remember a rule that for it to be a World Championship there had to be six nations represented, which may account for Aakko's inclusion to make up the numbers. If Petteri's observations are accurate he might be winning a Wooden spoon this year.
  11. Just had a message from a contact in the Austrian Federation, regarding the European Championship to be held in St Johann im Pongau on the 30/1/16. The weather forecast isn't looking good, and the meeting may have to be cancelled. They will make a decision on Tuesday (19/1/16). Having looked at the long range weather forecast for the area, the temperature is predicted to rise. St Johann is a natural track and wihout temperatures below freezing the snow used to pack in for the Ice will simply melt
  12. The only three I know at the moment are Rob Irvine, Roger Newton and Kevin Rowand. It's Roger who may very well be riding in St. Johann if/when it goes ahead. There's also that Andrew 'Bill' Barrett whom I now nothing about other than what I've read in this thread. As for some of the old riders, I see Graham Halsall most years at Assen, along with Bruce Cribb, Doug Wyer and Reg Wilson who have all worn the Union Flag Bodycolour.
  13. Been in touch with another British rider this morning, who tells me he may be taking the spot as Kevin Rowand is out with injury.
  14. I've got the Suplimentary Regs for the European Final at St. Johann on the 30th Jan. No. 3 is alocated to the ACU, and I understand GB will be represented by Kevin Rowand, unless anyone knows different?
  15. Amended. Typo on my part. Trying to do several things at the same time.

  17. Just read that - reads a bit like sour grapes on the part of Jan Seivers.
  18. Its a pity he's retired from the International Scene, as he's still by far and away the best rider. He may get the Wildcard in Krasnagorsk like he did last year. He was unbeaten in that round too!

  20. Its been a long day. I've ammended it. You going to be in Berlin?
  21. Just checked the Russian Forum for a Video Stream from the Second Round of the Russian Final from Shadrinsk, but there isn't one. Quite a few comments on the Russian Forum that if someone gets the Final they should put it on line.
  22. It's the German Championship on the Thursday, plus there is ISG Practice on the Friday so if you get there early enough there is four days of Ice Speedway
  23. Just a tip - avoid Kurve 2. you are quite a way from the track on the top of the hill looking down.
