  1. If you fly into Schönefeld (usually with EasyJet) or Tegel, buy yourself a Berlin Welcome pass from the BVG Stand as you leave the arrivals hall. Once stamped (immediately before you board your first train or as you get on the bus), then you can travel without worrying about having to find change for tickets. Usually available in 2, 3 or 5 day passes. You also get discounts in Restaurants etc when you show it. They give you a book of discounts when you buy it. The Ice Stadium is in Wilmersdorf and the nearest S-Bahn (Train) is Hohenzollerndam, which is across the road from the main entrance, nearest U-Bahn (underground) Heidleberger Platz, which is about a five minute walk. Hotels near the track fill up quickly and are a bit pricey, but you can get hotels a short bus or train ride away at reasonable cost. Meetings usually start at 5pm Saturday and 2pm Sunday, but take some waterproofs as it can be a bit wet. Iris123 is right, 1st & 2nd bend is really good, but avoid the 2nd bend at all costs, you are at the top of a hill some distance from the track. I haven't been to Berlin for the racing for a couple of years now, but it is one of the better events to attend, even if the FIM don't agree (which is why they refused them meetings). Have a good trip if you go.

  9. After his revelation to us last year in Inzell I'll have to agree Doug. From what I'm told he will ride in Russia in the Russian Individual and Team Championships, and possibly the World Team event, and I'll put money on him changing his mind come December when he steamrollers the opposition and is Russian Champion. Now I've said that, he'll not ride. Remember out success (?) in the predictions lark of a few years ago?
