Leading his last race when he clipped the bales and was excluded. Could have been European Champion! Oh well!
  2. You're probably right - I was going off the positions they finished before they took out Novik and Baltachev. Reading what Joni wrote,Baltachev and Novik were supposed to be the reserves for the final. Has this changed to?
  3. What happened to Hassinen please Joni?
  4. Thanks Joni, I was going off the comments on the Russian Forum. European Final Line Up: Final: (Sun 30/1) 1. Gzregorz Knapp (Pol) 2. Tommy Flyktman (S) 3. Christoph Kirchner (D) 4. I'm assuming his bike problems in Sanok have ruled him out. Replaced by Eduard Krysov French rider Claude Gaydene should have ridden at No 14, but has suffered a back injury. Replaced by Maxim Korchemakha According to the Russian Forums, Knapp and Baseev haven't arrived in Togliatti and may miss practice on Friday.
  6. Thats a shame, as I reckon that you'd have huge support what with all the British Fans who go. Do you think we could sue for agism? :)
  7. Gosh, what a surprise that was (Does Irony come over in print?) Mark, do you think you'll get a ride at Assen this year?
  8. Wasn't there for that one Bryn, but he still gets to Assen most years in a spectating capacity these days!
  9. World Championship QR3 Saalfelden, Austria Dmitri Khomitsevich Rus (3, 3, 3, 3, 3) 15 Vitalli Khomitsevich Rus (3, 2, 2, 3, 3) 13+ 3 Harald Simon A (2, 3, 3, 3, 2) 13+ 2 Gunther Bauer D (1, 3, 3, 3, 3) 13+ 1 Peter Koij S (2, 2, 2, 2, 3) 11 --------------------------------------------- Per-Anders Lindstrom S (3, 3, 1, 2, 1) 10 Mario Schwaiger A (3, 2, 0, 2, 2) 9 Jan Pecina CZ (2, 1, 2, 1, 2) 8 Christoph Kirchner D (2, 1, 1, 1, 2) 7 Teppo Toivola SF (1, 0, 3, 1, 1) 6 Simon Reitsma NL (0, 2, 2, 0, 1) 5 Lukas Volejnik CzR (1, 1, 0, -, 0) 2 Rene Stellingwerf NL (-, 1, 1, -, -) 2 Dirk Fricke SF (1, 0, 0, 0, 1) 2 Jussi Nyronen SF (0, 0, 1, 1, 0) 2 Gerrit-Oege Schukken NL (0, 2, 0, 0) 2 Mark Uzzell GB (0, 0, 0, 0, 0) 0 The only surprise for me was Peter Koij going through, but from reading comments on the German Forum (thanks to the translation site!) he deserved it.
  10. To be honest Seppänen and Malinen were really off the pace. However there were a few races where I thought the riders were struggling to stay on their bikes. Even Kononov suffered a bit, bouncing around on the turns. There was one race where Krasnikov left the tapes and the other three just followed him meekly. He was three bike lengths ahead as he entered the first turn, and was so far ahead by lap 2, he kept urning to see where the others were. I see the Ukraine must have given up their place as Hutla rode, as Oleg Dosayev wasn't there and as I don't understand Polish (or any language other than English for that matter) I don't know if they explained his absence.
  11. Thanks for that World Championship QR 3, Saalfelden, Austria 22.1.11 Draw: 1: Jan Pecina (CzR) 2: Rene Stellingwerf (NL) 3: Per Anders Lindstöm (S) 4: Teppo Toivola (SF) 5: Dmitri Khomitsevich (Rus) 6: Harald Simon (A) 7: Simon Reitsma (NL) 8: Günther Bauer (D) 9: Peter Koij (S) 10: Dirk Fricke (CH) 11: Mark Uzzell (GB) 12: Vitali Khomitsevich (Rus) 13: Jüssi Nyronen (SF) 14: Mario Schwaiger (A) 15: Lukas Volejnik (CzR) 16: Christoph Kirchner (D) R: Gerrit-Oege Schukken (NL) R: Rene Verhoef (NL) Prediction to go through: The Khomitsevichs, Simon and Bauer, but as for the 5th qualifier, it's anyone's guess. I'd like to see Stellingwerf get the nod as the Dutch nominee if he doesn't qualify, but I suspect Johnny Tuinstra will get it as he's been in great form. Unless Reitsma is the find of the season! Good Luck to Mark Uzzell too! Hope his hand holds up to the meeting, and he does the UK proud!
  12. World Championship QR 2 - Sanok, 21.1.11 1. Nikołai Krasnikov (Rus) - 15 (3,3,3,3,3) 2. Danił Ivanov (Rus) - 14 (3,3,2,3,3) 3. Stefan Svensson (S) - 13 (3,2,3,2,3) 4. Igor Kononov (Rus) - 12 (2,3,3,2,2) 5. Grzegorz Knapp (Pols) - 11 (2,3,3,1,2) 6. Antonin Klatovsky (CzR) - 8+3 (2,2,d,1,3) 7. Florian Furst (D) - 8+2 (3,2,2,0,1) 8. Martin Posch (A) - 7 (u,1,2,3,1) 9. Tommy Flyktman (S) - 6 (1,1,1,3,0) 10. Sven Holstein (NLa) - 6 (1,2,1,w,2) 11. Mirosław Daniszewski (Polska) - 5 (2,d,d,2,1) 12. Radek Hutla (CzR) - 4 (0,1,1,0,2) 13. Henri Malinen (SF) - 4 (1,0,2,1,0) 14. Josef Kreuzberger (A) - 4 (0,1,0,2,1) 15. Jouni Seppanen (SF) - 2 (1,0,1,0,0) 16. Claude Gadeyne (F) - 1 (0,0,0,1,0) Just watched the meeting - The gap between the top riders and the others was immense. Knapp makes it under his own steam and looks like he means business this year. Klabo could have gone through but for and engine failure when leading. Holstein may struggle to get the Netherlands nomination as he was on the pace but just can't gate! Klabo got through as reserve, after a run-off with Fürst Interesting interview with Posa half way through, and aparantly he has just got married!
  13. According to Mama the WC QR is to be shown on TV but he wasn't able to confirm the Sanok Cup. The link will be posted as soon as any of us know though
  14. Sue Hutti from the FIM/OaMTC was quite proud of the fact that St. Johann attracted 8,000 spectators and posted it on her Twitter Feed. So you did hear right! Wonder if they will get that many at Saalfelden on Saturday?
  15. Quite so, and a bit of a blow as he's been riding well recently. Karachintsev certainly looked the part when he passed Zorn. He impressed me when he rode in Assen last year and looks a name for the future.
  16. And, if I remember correctly, your main sponsor too :

  19. Mark, Are St Johann and Saalfelden natural ice tracks? I though they were artificial. BTW Good luck in Saalfelden next weekend!
  20. Wonder if we could move them to Buxton? It's cold enough there Cup Of Russia, Izhevsk, 15th/16th January 2010 Draw: 1 Igor Saydullin (Kamensk-Ural) 2 Dmitry Koltakov (Ufa) 3 Sergei Makarov (Luhovitsy) 4 Maxim Lushnikov (Saransk) 5 Edward Kysov (Kamensk-Ural) 6 Basil Kosov (Saransk) 7 Nikita Alexeev (Ufa) 8 Sergei Baltachev (Ufa) 9 Mikhail Bogdanov (Sterlitamak) 10 Yuri Polikarpov (Usolie-Siberian) 11 Danil Golosheykin (Kamensk-Ural) 12 Maxim Karpukhin (Saransk) 13 Artem Novik (Shadrinsk) 14 Yunir Bazeev (Saransk) 15 Maxim Korchemakha (Novosibirsk) 16 Andrei Shishegov (Sterlitamak) R17 Anton Zmaga (Kemerovo) R18 Eugene Urakov (Izhevsk) Top 4 in this meeting will represent Russia in the European Championship Details here which also includes the ticket price - 200 Roubles (about £4.19) Bargain!
  21. No, but with five Togliatti riders going through from the Russian Final there was going to be at least two at two of the qualifying rounds. There is also the possibility the MFR thought sending Karachintsev with someone he would know would benefit him.
  22. I think you are right - but there are two Togliatti riders (Ivanov and Karchintsev) in this round, so that might answer you're question. Karachintsev was in the Ivanov camp in Assen last year, and they were with him when he rode on the Friday night. I think he's 18 or 19 so maybe Ivan keeps an eye on him? Johnny has been riding well so far, but The Netherlands are guaranteed a qualifier so it's Johnny or Holstein as their nominee unless they both get through on merit, and/or Rene Stellingwerf does well and they get three.
  23. Interesting statistic there. However, the fact he qualified means everyone else will be thinking "7?" If Krasnikov does win 7 on the trot, he will be one of only two riders to win an FIM World Championship seven times in succession. The other person is GB & Silsden's own Dougie Lampkin who won 7 trials World Championships in a row. Other riders have won more World Championships, but not consecutively.
  24. Russian Individual Final Ufa, 8/9th January Final Result: Dmitry Khomitsevich (Togliatti) 27 (13+14), Nikolai Krasnikov (Ufa) 26 (13+13), Danil Ivanov (Togliatti) 24 (12+12), Vitaly Khomitsevich (Togliatti) 23 (11+12), Igor Kononov (Sterlitamak) 21 (12+9), Dmitry Bulankin (Ufa) 19 (10+9), Ivan Ivanov (Togliatti) 17 (8+9) Sergei Karachintsev (Togliatti) 15 (9+6), ------------------------------------ Edward Krysov (Kamensk-Ural) 13 (5+8), Dmitry Koltakov (Ufa) 13(6+7), Sergey Makarov (Lukhovitsy) 13 (7+6), Maxim Korchemakha (Novosibirsk) 8 (2+6), Mikhail Bogdanov (Sterlitamak) 6 (4+2), Sergei Baltachev (res) (Ufa) 5 (4+1), Artem Novik (res) (Shadrinsk) 5 (0+5) Andrei Shishegov (Sterlitamak) 2 (2+0), Daniel Golosheykin (Kamensk-Ural) 0 (0+DNR), Michael Zelepukin (Shadrinsk) 0 (0+DNR) (Top 8 qualify for World Championships) Well done to Dimon on his first Russian Championship! And well done to Togliatti - they have five riders into the World Championship Qualifying rounds!
  25. With Holstein getting a good score in what must be his first meeting, and the performance by the two new boys, the Dutch are starting to come good again. Especially with Johnny Tuinstra's good start after a year off. Just need Rene Stellingwerf to do well and there could be an a few spoilers this year! Commiserations also to Mark, but at least he's getting the Ice Time in. Roll on Saalfelden!
