  1. Heard from a reliable source that Rye House are replacing Leicester in the Notso Elite League. Have to say not my first choice but will give it a chance as any speedway at Rye should be welcomed (I am sure Plymouth and Berwick would prefer it to their current situation)
  2. Mr Sandhu, Rick Frost, The Invisible guy at Lakeside, John Posselwhaite at Reading, gosh even Steve Ribbons (bigger pockets than most of us) all driven out of the sport by a small group of self interested promoters who can then enact their self interested needs. Ever decreasing circles.
  3. Ben has exceeded my expectations this season but when you compare him with Branford the argument becomes clearer. Branford home ave (without BP) 6.00 Morley home ave (without BP) 5.87 Branford away ave (without BP) 6.42 Morley away ave (without BP) 2.59 I wish Ben well, but for his sake I hope he widens his experience on different shaped tracks as mentioned. The other point is he may also be a victim of doing TOO well, only speedway rewards an underachiever and punishes an improver. all because of averages.
  4. Is it true Busk Jacobson (a second string and sacked rider) is replacing the No 1 rider in the league, come on rain clouds don't let me down as well.
  5. Kennett and Lambert at an indidivual meeting for the NotSoElite league is a complete insult to the Rye fans, its bad enough when Eddie rides for Lakeside (only started riding mid season by the way) instead of Rye House, but an individual meeting, get a grip someone.
  6. Looked ok in the ELPO match last night at Monmore. Buster Douglas beat Mike Tyson, Peter Karger beat Sam Masters sh#t Brexit beat the Remoaners. It does seem though with the racecard in the Elite League some Premier riders do better in the Elite League.
  7. Well you can tell him he was the only one to beat Kenneth Bjerre fair and square around the Showground that night, I saw it.
  8. Another gutsy win for the Rockets with Branford at the forefront, a well earned point in heat 13 and a nail biting heat 14 win swung it for the Rockets. When you see a real trier sport just don't get better. Sorry Eddie, your contribution were appreciated as well.
  9. Not sure who these fans are? but I think Cam more than delivered this season (last year half a season at reserve and second string at Ipswich, this year 3rd heat leader all year) Strange night, before I thought we would be lucky to get 40, after three heats I thought we would be lucky to get 30 yet after the heat 14 (even if Morley is the "face that fits" I would have used Branford above Lanham) atrocious decision we were then on for the 3-3 in heat 15. Left confused but overall actually disappointed.
  10. Another iffy score for Edward for Rye House (although the wins keep coming in the Elite league), If he keeps this up for the next couple of meetings his average will drop quite a lot, although,as only in speedway the worst you do the more employable you become for next season. wink wink.
  11. A light grey cloud 10 metres by 10 has been spotted in the Cambridge area heading northwards so perhaps it was a good idea to call it off after all.
  12. Apparently there are only two beach huts available for rent at the Showground today but with the forecast the management fully expect a sell out.
  13. There is only one question you should ask yourself to get to the real answer If the play-off cut off date was Sunday 4 September would tomorrows match been called off on Saturday afternoon? Nuff said.
  14. Some would claim their girlfriends prefer a tactical substitute or a rider replacement in a doubling up position. Me it is too slow if it lasts more than 60 seconds and definitely not "five laps Les"
  15. Sorry to see you go Shadders. Despite Barraider, your updates (especially on away matches) have been much appreciated over the years to those who can't get to as many away matches although are just as mad about the Rockets as you are.
  16. Glad we didn't lose by one point tonight after the decision of heat 3 (I was opposite the starting gate and the result was laughable). About the right result and actually pleased with a point with Kennett only getting 7 + 1 (including a 6) special mention for Branford with a gutsy 7 + 1. I don't like negative comments about other tracks but I just don't seem to enjoy the racing at Foxhall but it was good to meet Startline Sid.
  17. Shadders are you not there? as Steve Ribbons has just text that hes the only Rye fan there. If you are, meet up with him and you can form the Independent Rye Army
  18. Another 3 wins for Matej Kus tonight hang your heads in shame all you knockers.
  19. "Len ran it as a family business" I think the correct term is "Len ran it into the ground" for a second time. BMR no doubt have been shocked by the shoddy patched work over the years and the "re-fit" is a far bigger project than was believed. Granted mistakes have been made but overall I think there are far more positives than negatives..
  20. To most Rye House v Berwick is just another fixture but to some I bet it means everything. The question is who is the ankle biter supporting?
  21. Agreed Waco, team spirit shone through again. Only moan though, yet again 40 minutes between both matches, far too long but still feel bad complaining in what is turning out to be a more enjoyable season than I imagined and feared.
  22. What about Ken Shuttleworth of Lancashire Cricket
