At what point will the PL put out a begging bowl to the CL though? As the promoters still have a business to run?

Serious question here, given the clear impasse that the sport is at in this country. Could we have a scenario where nothing is agreed and everyone takes home their ball meaning no uk speedway in 2026?

Looking at the bigger picture Dean, if the hand is forced and we go one league could retired British riders be persuaded to race again if wages were competitive and costs kept down? Or is that wishful thinking?

Given the lack of available riders I suspect the hand has already been forced. Therefore, I suspect the points limit will drop dramatically, possibly below 35 given that in a 1 league scenario it's likely that teams will be bottom heavy with NDL riders and rookies.

The ultimate one for me was Scott Nicholls riding for both sides in the ko cup final between Ipswich and Peterborough. That's why the sport has zero credibility.

I'm surprised more riders haven't stuck their heads above the parapit to voice their concerns (other than the ones that already have). I guess many if them are waiting on outcomes before they sign contracts. And by that I don't mean the GP riders. Will the for want of a better expression, the run of the mill riders already by looking for other jobs if the promoters cannot make up their minds? Thus potentially losing even more riders.

Surely we should be encouraging the retired or quit riders out of retirement for the sports sake. But of course no one will take a punt on them will they.

I do accept that may be a big issue and I don't know the answer. Any suggestions from anyone better qualified than me?

Spot on Iain, yes I can say there will be a lot of concern locally as the sport is the second biggest concern in this area by some distance. The support is fantastic as is the local media coverage. But the sport itself has to be the biggest concern, and despite some strong posturing from some of my fellow witches fans on here. If we take home the ball then no one plays and it's as simple as that!

All joking aside, as Dean said on 360, we must find a way to get people off grass track flat track or whatever otherwise we'll have no sport to watch. I'm quite shell-shocked but not surprised that Chris has had enough and wants to sell up but if we don't repair the lifeboats then we all drown.

Let's consider the situation logically. Why have no premiership clubs signed any riders? The answer is simple Why be a sacrificial lamb when the numbers don't add up! They don't want one league but I'm afraid it's hobsons choice.

Whilst I agree with your points about Prem clubs. Unfortunately if the big boys take their ball away and refuse to play, then nobody plays.
