Without getting carried away would the averages fit Batch and Emil?
-
That's what I thought.

Unfortunately the club has lacked ambition for a number of years. However as Baldyman says most won't give a rats and will turn up, usually to watch the opposition if they have a top rider. In Regards to budgets is it high or low and funded or not who knows? However I saw a certain Emil mentioned earlier in the thread. Now that would put bums on seats.

Quite right sir

Hard truths needed I'm afraid. The national covid panic and 2 years of shutdown and throwing money around is now going to come back and bite us on the arse. Realistically has Mildenhall been a viable proposition for some time I don't think it has and unfortunately the cost of living crisis created in part by government policy (other factors included) mean that unfortunately Mildenhall probably won't be the first and last victim of decades of living beyond our means.

So in essence the dying patient has been administered another years worth of morphine!

What's going to change? Well my guess is a big fat zero! It's probably sad but important to remember that in the current climate not all clubs may make it to the tapes in 2023. Perhaps that is what the hold up is. Not all clubs are giving assurances they can be financially viable?

Oxford Vs Poole Jubilee Cup &Return 2nd-3rd August

Quick question to any cheetahs fans. Do you have to buy a separate ticket for the bar and restaurant areas or is it first come first served or part of the general admission as I haven't been to Cowley since the early 2000s thanks in advance? -
Agree totally although I do think that teams are limited at the moment in terms of averages. I believe you have to change like for like but someone might correct me on that. But yes I'm sure Barker is a decent chap but it's hardly an inspiring signing!

The amount of chancers we have had early season in years gone by is unreal. We have probably had no more than 5 good seasons since the mid nineties which is pretty shocking for a club of our stature! Unfortunately we talk too much about the past without considering the future and we have been overtaken in terms of honours by many other teams. As for last season, well I'm afraid the management closed the stable door long after the horse had bolted. Granted the changes were commendable but whoever thought the likes of Jordan Stewart could cut it at the top level needs to give their head a wobble! Unfortunately previous years team selections have failed to set the world alight hence the (Understandable) negativity on sites like here.

The one and only Hans.

Congratulations on your return. Perhaps it would be fitting for the master ( in my opinion the greatest rider of all time) to be the first to ride the track.
-
Sounds good but too much speculation for me as every year we end with an unexpected signing or someone from another part of the world that no one has heard of.
-
And the first order of the day is pin the tail on the donkey!
-
Ok thanks
-
Can someone advise please? On speedway nights having not been to Owlerton for a number of years do you have to book for the restaurant or can you just turn up thanks?

Problems at Eastbourne as I understand it as well. One of either 2 things as I see it. Firstly travel restrictions and polish league restrictions lifted and we get in more foreign riders or secondly we go back to the mid nineties and have one league. Like most things is life now speedway is over burdened with regulations and most people just cannot be bothered any more.

Spot on and unfortunately we are unlikely to see a fully fit Crump this year so whilst his recovery time would be longer than a much younger rider I think it's unfair of those who say hes no longer up to it, given a certain Mr Hancock ( albeit in regular European racing) was world champion at was it 46 or 47. Unfortunately I think our season unravelled before it started when Klindt pulled out. If Klindt was riding it would have taken the pressure away from Crump. The promoters have tried their best to put together a good side but all the injuries has just rubbed salt into the wound. As for the erractic form of some riders well that's anyone's guess.

Witches v wolves 28th June, TV meeting
TB1 replied to Badge's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes you are right, perhaps the only suitable alternative is to flood the league with foreign riders again and as you say blood 2 rising stars in every team. The other alternative is the continuous slow death of the sport in this country. -

Two options I guess , the first one is import more foreigners once restrictions are lifted or secondly blood our own youngsters ( which could be messy). Failing that the sport falls on its arse cos either no one can be bothered or make any money out of it. -

I think some perspective is needed here. Firstly the season was in trouble as soon as Klint was unavailable. However I think its unfair to criticise the management as the changes should ( and I emphasise should) improve things. Clearly things are still mixing and I guess crump was desperate to return but clearly not fit. The desperate shortage of riders has got to come to a head soon and I can only see one thing and that is one big league again. -
Lots of people moaning at our end about poor performances recently at least we have a well supported team with good local media coverage. For that we should be grateful. Hope it all works out down there.

I use to really like Oxford although being an Ipswich fan most times we got turned over! I guess the place including the excellent restaurant must be in a right 2 and 8 these days? However if it did reopen surely the first laps would have to be ridden by the master himself? In my opinion still the greatest rider of all time.

Monday must be in doubt given the rain we have already had and what's coming especially monday?

As an Ipswich fan I was at Monmore last week when you trimmed us up. However more importantly a fantastic venue that it is cannot be lost and this is the problem when government gives local authorities powers. At foxhall last week for the lynn meeting many people reckon the crowd was nearer 3000 than the 2000 'officially' allowed. Unfortunately all those that have agreed with these ridiculous restrictions and the strangling of the economy may very soon get what they wish for unfortunately!
