  1. Yes, exactly the same coverage as Eurosport except it will not be in HD, but then it will be better than not getting any coverage at all.
  2. I would not mind delayed coverage if they showed ALL of the races and not miss out a few races so they could show the gardening and messing about at the starting gate or shots of the crowd with somebody eating a burger or waving a flag between the races.
  3. What I cannot understand is that in the 1950/60s i used to watch speedway at Norwich there were men with drag rakes on every bend, smoothing out any bad ruts and dragging the loose shale to the inside from the safety fence. The tractor dragged a bar frame around after every heat levelling the shale. I have seen racing when the riders looked like mud men and raced in far worse conditions than tonight's meeting at Birmingham also the track at Norwich appeared to take far more water than they do today with better drainage on the inside of the track onto the grass. A short shower now and the tracks are greasy and virtually unrideable. In those days they had no fancy visors or helmets either but just a few pairs of thin cellophane lenses with elastic round them worn over standard goggles and of course proper leathers.
  4. I will tolerate with them for the benefit of seeing speedway on TV from Sweden. Would you sooner seen no coverage? Thanks Eurosport.I am really looking forward to this — some new riders and definitetly new tracks
  5. Terrific meeting. Riders from both teams looked they were going all out to win. I posted earlier on here that meetings from the PL produced great racing when televised on Sky and last night was certainly no exception. The riders gave their all and that was good to see.
  6. Most Premier League matches have been very entertaining when they have been shown on Sky in the past, it is not so much the result for me but the exciting racing with the Premier riders showing great competitive spirit and giving their all.
  7. I shall just record it and play it back at the time I want, avoiding ang media sources that will give me the result before I view it, which will not take much doing. The result might be on Sky News but absolutely no chance of seeing it on BBC News as they do not appear to know speedway even exist.
  8. I enjoyed the meeting tonight even though the commentary was hilarious at times, in a way it was good Ermolenko was there to correct this Jack fellow. Makes me appreciate. Kevin Tatum and Nigel Pearson, hope they are doing the Eurosport GPs.
  9. Just noticed that there is nothing on the Sky Sports web site about the ERC from Coventry their first meeting is given as Coventry v Poole on April 14th. Also Eurosport are showing Speedway Best Pairs on Friday March 28 Live Speedway Best Pairs 18:00Speedway Source -- http://tv.eurosport.co.uk/search.shtml?query=Speedway
  10. Is this just a personal opinion or has this been confirmed somewhere
  11. Great News, it took a long time to arrive but worth it in the end
  12. It is known as suspense, a great build-up to a great announcement and when we eventually are told there will be a public holiday with street parties, dancing in the streets, commemorative mugs and a fancy dress competition.
  13. Interesting to note that on the Sky Sports speedway site after a fortnight of no updates they have now started posting new news stories.
  14. One wonders if this thread is discussing Speedway Sky Sports New Deal or Ping Pong/table tennis or whatever. Be nice to get back on topic.
  15. I would not be surprised at a 5 year deal but would be amazed at a deal as long as 7 years.
  16. You appear upset by my comment but I did not criticise you personally in any way. If a date is given even a rumour, then if that date passes it is natural for someone to comment on it, after all it is a discussion board.
  17. Well it is Wednesday 18th Dec and I cannot see any news about this yet, stillI suppose there is still time today
  18. I believe this thread has gone way off topic.I come to this forum to read about speedway not a pile of chatter about drink
  19. I can never understand that on the BBC Sport website speedway comes under MotoGP, for some reason best known to the BBC. All those minority sports in the index buried under "more sport" one would have thought they coud at least have a speeedway heading. I did contact the BBC and they said they only had room in the index for so many sports there looks plenty of room to increase it to me. What has speedway got to do with MotoGP?
  20. It is OK for me just logged on, been logging in now on and offf over the last couple of days and encountered no problems
  21. Whatever anyone says about the Eurosport coverage and comparing it to Sky it must be remembered that Eurosport came to the rescue with covering the GPs at fairly short notice and took over. That we must be grateful for. I think their coverage is quite acceptable. Easy to criticise but not very easy to find an alternative.
  22. I did similar, I was busy outside so I watched recorded meeting at 8 pm, I just avoided seeing any result from any sources which was not difficult, I even saw the news before on BBC and was 100% positive they of all people would not give out any result to spoil my viewing:-)
  23. Realised this yesterday as Eurosport have the MotoGP on one channel and Tour de France Cycling on the other scheduled both major sporting events, so they have slotted it in as delayed coverage immediately after the Motor GP which is as much as anyone could expect under the circumstances of the meeting being changed. Just glad we have it at all, if one stays off the internet what really matters if it is delayed by 90 minutes or so. I am recording it anyway so will watch it this evening.
