Think people getting confused here. In the good old days riders were only excluded when the tapes were broken (had to ride thru em) hence they could afford to roll start. Today they would not be able to touch.

As I said before in the 70's when the Racers used to ride at Exeter in the morning then a mad dash to Wimbledon for the Internionale in the evening then when that stopped it was back to Tilehurst the same day.
