Threat To The Elite League
crazyb replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Explain how Peterborough alone have been a bit of a shambles -
Why not go back to the old rules of thirty years ago. The two riders with the lowest average over the last six meetings go down to reserve Nos. 6 and 7. It would also give every rider a chance to ride with someone else. You might get the prima donnas moaning but it would help young riders to improve instead of riding amongst themselves. It did create a few problems if teams had ridden the previous night and no-one had worked the averages out, but there aren't too many instances now, and it is simple now with computers or whatever to instantaneously work figures out, even for the half-brained. Apart from Rider Replacement, this is the only rule from years ago that hasn't been re-tried as far as I can recollect.

I agree' The Leicester side tonight wouldn't win a Premier League meeting. Most or all of the riders have struggled at one time or another to hack it in the so-called second tier. Drop down and lets have some good local derbies with the likes of Peterborough.

Think back to the Coventry-Peterborough stand-off a few years ago. They wanted speedway to be run by someone or two who had no interest in a particular team, so completely unbiased. It didn't happen, it never will, BUT while you thought that things had reached the depths and couldn't get worse, it has, and will continue to until there is nothing left. The BSPA are a complete and utter joke.

It's not the Showground, it's the new H & S crew that Panthers put in place -

I don't know what the idiot said to you but why not have a go at the promotion. It happened a couple of years ago and was brushed under the carpet then. It needs Ged to get a meeting with the stupid Elfs asap and the Showground. Don't know who got this lot in but they ain't got a clue -
Tactical Ride - Premier League Cup

If I am not mistaken, wasn't the TR (Joker) (Mickey Mouse) rule one of the pet hates of fans which came up in a questionnaire in the Star last year. But you wouldn't expect the Promoters to take any notice of the paying public. They never have done and never will -
It Must Have Been This Bad Before.....mustn't It?

How many non-league sides pay a player £1200 per match!! That's the figure according to the Plymouth thread that Ben Barker was getting, AND he is not the only PL rider paid something like that by a long way; but I know there are a lot who don't get that amount. But at a maximum of £70 a point average that is still around £7000 per meeting for riders wages alone, without all the other expenditure. Cut the average to around £45 a point, with a guarantee of £200 per meeting and then it might just make riders see sense and do away with all the mechanics and tuners they use. Tracks might get away without any losses then AND might even make a profit -
Peterborough V Ipswich 28th March 2pm
crazyb replied to ZODIAK's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
And it's going to cost six figures to do it -
I wasn't there yesterday so I don't know what the track was like, but I was told by an ex-international last Sunday that turns three and four would not be anywhere near ready and that the promotion should have called the meeting off then

Yes, Olly has retired

Jason was good, and so was David Tapp, MUCH better than listening to the mouth that is Pearson. Never made a mistake either.

Coventry V Swindon - Wednesday 2nd September
crazyb replied to NeilWatson's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It's the starting marshall's fault. Why don't they make riders move up right next to the tapes, then they wouldn't be able to move unless they got an absolute flyer. They move now because they have at least a foot to spare before the tapes. -

He'd got clout and they didn't like that

Well, after seeing Plymouth get absolutely hammered at Edinburgh on Friday, even taking into account the late arrivals, would have thought Panthers could have won with half a team yesterday. But then, they've only had half a team all season. WHY replace a young Englishman with a foreigner (whether he's good or not, and in this case he's certainly not good) -
KING used a GTR in his first four rides but switched to his GM for the last heat decider. Didn't have the benefit of Gerhard and or Tatum on hand to help with set up. The GTR is, apparently, very different to ride than a GM and Danny naturally felt that for such an important heat he should use what he knew best. That GTR and another will be going to Chris Harris at Coventry for the BF. His parents wouldn't have had a decision to make if the idiots at the FIM hadn't made a rule that lets a rider miss a meeting the day before and the day after. They are as much a joke as that abominable JOKER rule.
