Oxford vs Plymouth 27/07/22
Roger Jacobs replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Innocent until proven guilty. A "non-negative" result on the night, which has to be tested in an official laboratory. -
McDonalds have a standard set of plans, and also set the expected timescale. They do it all over the world.

Starke is riding again. He will be at reserve in August, so should be able to score a few points. Batchelor, Barker*, Starke & Hume will be able to take R/R rides for Riss. *Barker was unbeaten at Plymouth on Tuesday night, but withdrew before their meeting at Oxford on Wednesday as "unfit to ride" ...

The info posted by Ipswich says a broken left ankle, and no operation until Thursday (because of swelling?), so no prognosis until after the op ... The fibula near the ankle is very important to the stability of the ankle joint.

Wolves v Kings Lynn 25/7/22
Roger Jacobs replied to tellboy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Not everyone is affected the same way. Thankfully, due to vaccinations, the impact is greatly reduced (same as for the flu). Some people have health vulnerabilities, so for those in their family or close friends, it's important to be aware if you've got Covid because passing it on could still have serious consequences. -
Certainly looks like it. Worth noting that for August the number of matches will reduce to 14, so the two oldest counting scores for most of the Panthers will be removed, which *could* have an impact ... although, to be fair, it would require a 0.53 swing for Andersen and Nicholls to swap.

They've always named the riders who have "qualified", and then waited for withdrawals ...

The Pairs continues to be a well-guarded secret, although Ipswich have ruined it by admitting there is a meeting very soon: https://ipswichwitches.co/raceday-preview-premiership-pairs-round-4/

Could you provide all of the heat times please? The Live Updates team could only get race results, so the scorecard is missing the times, and they like to be as complete as possible - thanks!

Ipswich v Belle Vue 14th July
Roger Jacobs replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Aces can't change their line-up once declared. Wright is named at 4, so they have to use R/R at 4. Was thinking of going, but have decided against. -

Confirmed on SpeedwayGB preview. Already seen Knudsen on BSN and he looks a very tidy rider (13 from 6 in Berwick's win at Oxford) - and comes over really well when interviewed (with, of course, perfect English). -

Peterborough v Wolves - Mon 11th July
Roger Jacobs replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You only have to look at Google Maps and the adjacent development to the showground to see the intensity of the housing. The Grandstand, pits, track and backstraight areas are roughly 150m x 200m. Overlay that on any part of the housing, and you'll see 40-50 homes. -

Lots of factors, e.g. home track, position in team. Also, the conversion factor is arbitrary - I'm sure if a statistician looked at all the factors, they could come up with an equation. -

Green Sheets are not a reflection of this season, because they still include some from 2021. Averages are updated regularly now, showing Home, Away & Overall for 2022. Note that the Green Sheet figures are updated as soon as the referee's official scorecard is available, so will not reflect the current month (and don't forget that the number of matches used for the GSA will reduce by 2 for August): https://britishspeedway.co.uk/2022-rider-statistics/ -
The other week Tatum didn't know the protected rides rule, and this week he said Blödorn was the Rising Star. Also, he completely missed Jorgensen's fall - not sure what he's watching, but he is often behind what's actually happening on track. Also, the dirt-o-meter is a tired and poor gimmick. BSN making Eurosport look very ordinary.

Same number of meetings that BT Sport showed, which means there's 11 league meetings over a 20ish week period from May to early September.

Oxford v Plymouth. 6/7/22
Roger Jacobs replied to Dickie Head's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Considering that a lot of riders are here, there and everywhere during the season, King might well have said to Plymouth that he would let them know as soon as he had worked out the logistics, particularly machinery - and even if Poole are happy, maybe he wanted to check with Ipswich. I still don't understand how you can whinge about King accepting a booking for a team that are challenging for the play-offs, and then cheerfully turn round and say that Poole don't mind. It can't have bothered King, because if it did he would have rejected the booking. Or maybe it was "agent" King - after all, his five rides produced 8 points, and the heats he featured in resulted in an aggregate of 19-11 to Oxford -

Clearly then, as suggested, King wasn't bothered - he just saw it as an earning opportunity.
