  1. I think the Birmingham promotion agree with you totally but if the stadium owners want to enforce those rules, there's not much they can do about it. Like Speedwayfan says, they have tried to reason with the owners but they don't seem to want to see reason. It's the way landlords operate unfortunately.
  2. Speedway in the spotlight, now there's wishful thinking....
  3. Sounds like a done deal to me then which is great news!
  4. I'm not sure what the consortium leader is going to get out of this meeting, surely he has all the information and figures he needs to know whether it's worth investing or not? Fans will obviously want a decent track for a good team to perform on and no increase on the gate. The rest is down to the business men.
  5. Told me exactly the same. He's proven to be a very good rider and a smashing person but last year never really worked for him. Shame because he's a lot better than we saw and he was as frustrated as anyone.
  6. I would say being near the top of the league all season and reaching the semis would be classed as title challenging surely? Also the reserves and rising stars average are low for a reason, its your heat leaders that need to hitting double figures
  7. Riss certainly based in the UK, and I'm pretty sure that Ellis wanted more than Harris
  8. The problem I see with this is that half the riders would achieve an average that would keep them out of a team for the following year. I'd go the other way and increase the team average to 49 or 50 points. You'll never build to that number but riders could race without fear of being redundant afterwards...
  9. Unless they have really deep pockets I wouldn't think Crump would be there. Been good publicity for all having him back racing again tho
  10. But surely Douglas would have been more effective at 3 and taking points off their heat leader rather than potentially taking points off Morris?
  11. It's an excellent post. I'm not sure the riders think it's a God-given right to be in 2 teams tho, more of a necessity to make it worthwhile nowadays. That said, I think wages are probably the easiest way to cut back on costs.
  12. Who would have been driving the 2nd ambulance then? Pretty sure he'd have been a paramedic and not the local binman surely?
  13. Ooooh should interest the Peterborough riders that...
  14. Not sure tbh. If that is the case then let's hope we get some positive news
  15. Which suggests his season hasn't been as disastrous as people make out really
  16. Strange because when I spoke to him he said that he'd be happy to stay in British speedway because its better paid than Denmark and Sweden. Only the top league in Poland is better and he's not at that level yet
  17. I think Riss is struggling with the new tyres like a lot of riders, tho some do seem to have found a way of making them work. Sometimes when riders are happy and performing and then get a change like that it really affects them
  18. Yes I know, just surprised to keep seeing him at Birmingham over recent weeks
  19. Ahhh OK, my mistake. Have seen both of them quite a lot at Birmingham lately. Thanks for straightening that out tho Trackerman!
  20. He's spent a lot of time at Birmingham recently for someone who has no interest in speedway....
