  1. The greater Premiership costs are purely down to 'top' rider wages and expenses and are therefore funded by a combination of wealthy owners and/or sponsors but clearly cannot be afforded by some eg Oxford ( possibly Sheffield too having lost their main sponsor and being up for sale). Clearly there is a limit to what the public will pay also.
  2. But where is the Premiership money coming from if no TV contract??
  3. Poole is different to Swindon though. He doesn't own the Poole Stadium site. He only leases it from the Council. Having said that, Cala Homes have shown interest in the site in the latest 'suggestions' to be considered in a revised Council Local Plan!! If the Council accept the 'suggestion' as a firm proposal and then include it in a new Local Plan, which will have to be approved by central Government, then that plan will go out to public consultation.
  4. As I've said elsewhere, why don't one of the Prem clubs run a second team, jointly underwritten by all 5. There is a chance that fans of the club could be attracted to attend both team's fixtures, rather than trying to attract new fans from scratch at a new venue?
  5. Well of all the riders advertised to be attending its unlikely to be Charles Wright or Brady Kurtz!!....or is it!??
  6. Delusion, or what?! I assume you mean the promoters of Aces, Stars, Lions and Tigers?!
  7. Not wanting to do something is not the same as not being able to nor afford to!
  8. Many people on here and elsewhere don't seem to have a clue about the costs of hiring a stadium like Cardiff for 10 days or so - and thats before the cost of laying a track and then dismantling it afterwards. The stadium would take into account any lost revenue (bars, hospitality, franchises etc) on the 'dead' days, aside from the days that speedway actually takes place in front of a (mostly) paying audience!
  9. At the end of the day, whatever options are decided, they have to be affordable for all clubs - and fans! Unfortunately not all Clubs have the same cost base - some own their own Stadia, some rent from supportive landlords, some rent from reluctant stadium owners. Some (a few) have supportive corporate main sponsors, many do not! Clubs must be allowed to operate at their preferred level (financially) otherwise more Clubs will be lost. To be 'forced' into one league or another just to suit the few would be wrong imo. If every club operated from the same costbase it might be different, but they don't and it isn't!
  10. Surely a promoter only ceases to be a promoter officially at the AGM? This is when a new Board Director will be elected.
  11. He's still listed as a director at Companies House but I know he wanted to step down! Maybe its something that can only formally be done at an AGM?!😇
  12. They set the 3-year points limit (40 points) at last year's AGM - subject to the same number of Championship clubs! Lets not forget that Scunny (Rob Godfrey) and Poole (Danny Ford) are 50% of the BSPL Board of Directors. They other 2 are Chris Louis and Damien Bates.
  13. Rob is the BSPL Chairman of the Board of Directors. The other Board (not bored!?) Directors are Louis, Bates and Ford.
  14. OMG. Where have you been for the past 5 years??
  15. No I didn't mean Championship clubs running a Prem league club as well!! I meant any of the current Prem clubs running a second Prem team eg. Belle Vue Aces and BV 'Kings'? Kings Lynn Stars and KL 'Planets'? Etc etc.
  16. Just a thought.... Could/Would any of the current Prem clubs run a 2nd team in the Prem?
  17. Minor point but its an AGM of a Limited Company, not a Conference of an Association anymore.
  18. There was supposed to be news about Sheffield THIS week, but hey its only Wednesday.
  19. Oh gawd don't get Lewy going off again!!🤪
  20. Just as a matter of passing interest, Sam Hagon was at Poole's end of season party on Friday!!
  21. No idea!! The AGM is usually in the 2nd week of November (Not sure if thats written into the BSP Limited's Company Rules & Regs). It was originally scheduled as one day - for 12th (today) - and the only alternative suggested dates have appeared on this forum, so your guess is as good as anyone's. PS. I wasn't at the end of season party on Friday and despite a lot of feedback from that event by my family members, there was no mention of the AGM - possibly because many fans simply aren't that interested in the date, only the decisions!!?
