Effectively 11 from 4 as he had 2 machinery failures!!
-
So why withdraw from the Poole Blue Riband?
-
In 2024 Zach rode at 4 all season with his brother at 3 and and Tom at 5 and only increased his average from 6.22 to 6.23! This year he's had the extra 'burden' of the captaincy because nobody else wanted it yet still improved his average by over a point. Agree he likes the BV track (who doesn't) but its different machinery, and different set-up for a big track.
-
Why be keen for a rider to move on when he's put over 1 point on his starting average? OK he's not the most extrovert of captains that's ever been and will still be in the Poole side in 2026 imo. (Maybe he'll improve further with another compatriot Aussie in the side?)
-
A bit strange as the reason he withdrew from the Blue Riband was because he couldn't get his bikes down to Poole!!
-
'Blurred Lines' was a track by Robin Thicke!!🤣🤣
-
Riders just want/need bike time. The Ippo preview says they are aware a few of their riders have other matches elsewhere. Seem OK with that.
-
Why? Are Poole changing their race night?🤔
-
Maybe follow his - and others' -progress in the Young Stars meeting this evening!
-
Yes but having both in one team will be nice!
-
He's signed for Region Varde in Danish League ( Wednesdays!)
-
Wow, confusion and mixed messages at the BSPL!! who would have thought it?! So Poole complete their league fixtures by the original cut-off date and now get 'penalised' by not having their entitled choice of second leg at home in both play-offs and KO Cup!!
-
So despite Redcar and Poole reaching agreement on dates themselves, someone at BSPL HQ has had a tantrum and thrown their toys out of the pram!!
-
No.
-
What's all this 'not fitting in at Poole'? He was only coming for the Blue Riband!! Same as Vinnie.😉
-
Bowes is almost 24 y.o. and has ridden in Europe since 2021. Surely his father Shane would have coached him in the potential pitfalls of speedway in various countries?!
-
Both Poole and Redcar websites have the KO Cup meetings on 5th and 8th Oct respectively. BSPL have not updated their fixture list yet - possibly because the office is involved in big meetings taking place in Rugby at the moment apparantly!?

Comments like 'go and hang yourself' are simply unacceptable whatever the rights and wrongs of the situation!! -

I really don't get all the negativity (bullrubbish) about the playoffs. pretty much very other sport that operates a league structure includes play-offs of one sort or another. Clubs love 'em because they are still money-spinners compared to standard fixtures (not least because clubs can raise the admission prices) and they can sometimes be the difference between a club losing money or breaking even over the season! They still attract larger crowds and often greater local/regional media coverage..

Despite the various pros and cons, some of the vile and nasty comments he has had on social media are totally unacceptable! I hope his mental state is OK. -
What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
