  1. Thursdays, Mondays, BSPA meetings. He only moved to France mid-season. They do have phones, the internet and social media in France as well!!! 2019 was a transition period for Danny to start to become the media face for Poole Speedway especially on meeting days even though MF was always there - bar one meeting. Matt was very much making the decisions, paying the bills and clearly having to deal with the fallout from the main sponsor situation.
  2. The only year they made a loss was this year! Every one of the other 20 years the club has at the very least broken even.
  3. Depends whether you would want to run Premiership or Championship?
  4. Hasn't worked??? It hasn't happened yet. That's the plan for 2020!!
  5. Most of the clubs don't want one big league!!
  6. Somerset have done it having almost bankrupted their club after one season in Premiership. MF hasn't got a bottomless pit of money. Much of Poole's top level success has come on the back of much hard work in and around the local area in getting big sponsorship deals. The season just gone has seen not only the new, last minute main sponsor going into liquidation and costing the club around £35k but also saw the departure of 3 'major' club sponsors before the season started - one expected because they were at the end of their 2-year deal and 2 others due to a shift in their own respective business development plans. No club can afford to lose a six figure income from their bottom line without it having a major effect. To operate at a level which has - according to MF - a 25% lower cost base at a time when he is also less 'hands-on' due to his developing new business interest abroad, is a very sensible approach when leaving the day-to-day running of the club to his son Danny! Resuming 'local' derbies with the likes of Somerset and Eastbourne (and maybe Plymouth and Kent too) and seeing some other different opposition is all good as its all about the racing and the atmosphere for me - and many others it would seem.
  7. Why? Brilliant sensible move in the circumstances. Bring it on.
  8. Is it really a 'family sport'? In all honesty how many 'families' do actually attend these days - and how regularly? If its the 'Peaky Blinders' audience that we're going for then the sport needs spicing up a whole lot more, with much more convoluted aggro between teams.......!!
  9. ...because the club promoters know what was proposed/agreed at the pre-agms but the fans including myself don't!
  10. Just clarifying the Kent position for those that may be still under the impression they were going PL.
  11. The extra team in the CL is Kent on Wednesdays (hopefully) - as announced by Len Silver this week,. Plymouth are also applying to BSPA for the CL, plus as Hodgy posted above the strong rumour of one other hoping for CL status.(Couldn't be IOW could it?!)
  12. Not quite sure what i'm supposed to have done to be referred to as 'dross' but if it helps to make your day then dross away!!
  13. The points limit was agreed at the pre-agm meeting based upon a certain number of teams. It's the same process every year. However all i'm saying is that with more teams now declaring there might be a change. If there is it won't be majorly significant to stop a club from starting to offer rider contracts - especially to get your heat leaders sorted!
  14. Of course its a done deal. No way the Championship clubs wouldn't welcome Poole (and Plymouth and Kent - and possibly one other) with open arms!! The only thing the extra number of teams might change is the points limit which is why Poole aren't announcing riders yet.
  15. Depends if there is an NDL next season?
  16. Its the Rebels 'End of season party' on Saturday so there may be some announcements then.
  17. His interview in the Speedway Star a couple of weeks ago suggested he is going back to Brummies.
  18. All clubs know the points limit that's been discussed at the pre-agm meetings as well as the likely teams in each league The AGM should simply be a rubber stamping procedure.
  19. So Len Silver intends to run Championship on a Wednesday and still run a team in the NL if there is one
