  1. Hardly Poole's fault that the final was delayed?! The announcement was timed to be just prior to a pre-AGM meeting!! And what 'attention' do you believe Poole received over and above the final? and from where?
  2. I can't - he's not in UK but you'll clearly provide the spit and I'll do the polish.
  3. Well stop posting misleading posts on threads that have nothing to do with the subject then! Its quite simple really.
  4. I think 6 of the Ipswich team felt the same last night!!! At least Poole only had 2 riders choke in the 2nd leg of the semi! Ha ha. I've got the stopwatch on for Gav's reply. Well done again Swindon. Great atmosphere on the TV . Plaudits to the DJ as the music seemed spot on for the occasion.
  5. Poole 'trying to stay relevant' on a Poole 2020 thread? Whatever next? Poole - like most clubs - set a budget for the coming season based upon projected income and expenditure. They - like all clubs - enter into rider contracts based on those financial projections. When those budget projections have a huge mid-season hole driven into them by a combination of lower attendance income (especially on TV meetings) and the different race night and lost main sponsorship funding due to liquidation (it was £35k btw but there may have been a small payment made in order to retain the branding til the end of the season?!!) then it will have a major impact on the club's bottom line. With MF no longer living in UK he clearly wants to ensure that co-promoter son Danny has a sustainable business to take responsibility for rather than put him at financial risk. All remaining sponsors of which there are several - are fully supportive of the moves. The only thing I can see changing the intention to go Championship is if any new TV and /or sponsorship deal guarantees greater financial security and more fixtures.
  6. plus returning to their preferred race night!!!
  7. His business at weekends. It's all in the Star where you can get quite a bit of accurate info.
  8. Congrats to Rosco and Doyley's Robins I see the Hawkins masterstroke of changing the riding order worked wonders.............for Swindon.
  9. Not for me either but Hawkins knows best. I may have to eat my words but doubt it . COYR.
  10. Maybe Middlo will do the Home meetings and any other midweek Away meetings with someone else stepping in/up for the Fri/Sat/Sun away meets?
  11. No reason why not on current rules = 6.94. Except that his Danish commitments might interfere?!
  12. A weaker team than what? A Premiership line-up? Well well I bet that took some working out - how's the Vinho verde?
  13. I must confess surprise at Ipswich's riding order tonight - King at 2 and Heeps at 5 - or is this another Hawkins masterstroke?
  14. Shame that won't happen as he's headed elsewhere!! The fact that Josh chose to ride on a Polish licence in 2019 has absolutely sweet FA to do with what licence he'll use in 2020! So many so-called 'experts' - both from other clubs as well as Poole - on Poole's situation clearly haven't got a frigging clue. At least all of Poole's several other sponsors are all in favour plus a fair proportion of fans. Bring it on. 2 signings already contracted i'm hearing. The only down side for many Poole fans is possibly having to find a new team manager!!
  15. Matt Ford reckons no amalgamation of the top two tiers of British speedway, according to yet another update in today's local Echo
  16. No more brown envelopes - this is speedway after all!!!!!
  17. No worries - the monies will simply be shared between Poole and either Somerset or Eastbourne! btw good luck to the Robins tonight.
  18. Only if those riders are released by the clubs dropping down!!
  19. No chance of Somerset moving up according to Garry May in today's Speedway Star!!!!!
  20. Excellent shrink-wrapped, dry and undamaged edition delivered on time this morning!!
