  1. If Matt does manage to sell at some point before the end of the 2019 season, then the new owner(s) will need to have a recognised licenced Promoter on board. If Matt doesn't manage to find a buyer and considers simply 'walking away' - something he has said he wouldn't hope to do - then surely the BSPA would step in and appoint a Promoter to keep a major speedway name like Poole operating. This latter course of action would also probably depend on security of tenure of Poole Stadium. As for the Nicolaj Busk Jakobsen signing - a bit of a surprise but illustrates that a recommendation from Bjarne Pedersen carries rather more weight for MF than Nicolai Klindt's plea for Rasmus Jensen. Some good Premiership scores when guesting for Leicester's Josh Auty at reserve, so should be OK at reserve for Poole with Covatti. Clearly MF sees the reserves switching in and out of the 1-5 during the course of the season - a bit like the Trophy-winning 2018 side.
  2. Lets not forget that these are just announcements at this stage. Nothing is certain until every team and its averages is ratified by the BSPA.
  3. Nicolai has been bending Matt's ear about Rasmus since the end of last season!! Seems as though he might have got his way. As for the Glasgow/Poole travelling, it didn't seem to worry a couple of the 2018 Premiership-winning team did it?!
  4. Sounds like you might be partying a bit too hard Mediman?!
  5. pretty ruthless in 2017!! Some would say vindictive and ruthless!!
  6. I thought that was Premiership to Championship ie to discourage doubling down?!
  7. Are you the forum's number 1 spelling mistake? Missing the 'i' and 'k' from your forum name?
  8. Senior moment - whats the conversion rate for a 2018 Championship rider going into a 2019 Premiership team? and where can I find it officially?
  9. Definitely yes - but maybe not racing?!
  10. Season starts in April!! (See the BSPA AGM Statement)
  11. 'Rolling, rolling, rolling. Keep those dawgies rolling.'!!
  12. Not forgetting Good Friday and the occasional Wednesday!!
  13. Some people want them as Christmas presents - its the same at Poole!!
  14. Is that 'any of the flaky 2018 Premiership Champions seven' that you're talking about?
  15. Well both options worked in 2018 - Somerset won the Cup and Poole won the Premiership trophy.
  16. His own words in the interview he did at the time. He admitted he was struggling!!
  17. There is/was no issue between James and Poole. He knew he was underperforming and had discussed things with MF. Like most things in speedway it comes down to numbers! Good Luck at Swindon James.
  18. Ooops - one day ahead of myself for the next rider announcement. The timing is to coincide with the local Echo's deadline for the next day's online edition. The Echo's regular speedway reporter -Ned Payne - has just gone away on hols. Before he went he/Matt submitted several Poole speedway stories to be run over the next few days - today's being the Gordon Pairman interview. I bet there are not many local media outlets carrying virtually daily speedway news in the off-season!! As for 'pushing' the season tickets, Matt said at the fans quiznight last week that he'd already had requests from fans who wanted to buy them as Christmas presents. So not exactly pushing them - merely responding to some fan requests. Whilst the search continues for a main sponsor, the club still has many other regular sponsors who financially assist and support both the club and individual riders and would doubtless make the club the envy of many others!!
  19. The Poole collection for Bomber was just by the fans via social media ie not officially arranged or supported by the club!! ps. next rider announcement later this evening or tomorrow for the local media!!
  20. Panthers fans are in for some successful but late nights as the number of restarts will be huge at Peterborough next year with Cook and Andersen it'll be 'rolling rolling rolling'!!
  21. Barry Hearn is simply the 'Ringmaster' of a few sporting circuses involving individuals in comfortable indoor venues which are easy to televise and generate hospitality/sponsorship. Let me know when he does anything successful with a team sport that can be weather-affected?! His only venture into that area was Leyton Orient - and look where they are in the footie world!!
  22. So is the pre-Xmas fans event on Weds 12th or Thurs 13th? If they can get that wrong maybe the date of the phone call too?1
  23. Much better that than having Championship clubs outvoting the Premiership at every opportunity!!
