In Cook's version of events - as published in last week's Star - he didn't hear anything of the presentation announcements as he had his helmet on and didn't realise the parade was still going on!!!!!!

If he was 'slowing down' then he must have been going faster beforehand at a time when he shouldn't have even been riding the track! With the presentation always held on the back straight, Cook rode off into the 3rd/4th bends and then the home straight before entering bends 1 and 2 (where most of the fan video was taken). Red lights were on and marshalls were holding their red flags on the 3rd/4th bends and the home straight at the side of the track before he went into bends 1/2. Whatever the rights and wrongs of what happened in the 'fracas', (not forgetting it was all witnessed first hand by the SCB's Neil Vatcher as well as the ref!), none of it would have happened if all the Glasgow riders had stayed at the presentation line until it had been fully completed! End of.

What are the SCB supposed to have done? They posted a statement on the official SCB website on Monday 5th August - the day after the incident(s)! It said they would investigate, which they did (bearing in mind Neil Vatcher, SCB Co-Ordinator was actually there at Eastbourne) and that there would be no further comment until the investigations were complete. The results of the investigation and the punishments were again published on the official website on Sunday 11th - a mere week after the incident(s). Ipswich and Kings Lynn promoters couldn't add anything to the investigations as they weren't there! Quite speedy and proper in my opinion.

Klindt and Kurtz both due to be in Sweden. Can't see Jack Holder agreeing either.

So the meeting is still a week away and we've already got 4 pages of mostly carp.

This may be slightly out of context, But does IOW speedway/stadium run at a profit or loss? ie does the speedway actually wash its face or is there a separate 'Bishop fund' to assist the bottom line?

I knew about this morning but I don't see what difference either morning would make. Track staff would be able to work on the track during the afternoon - the same for most evening meetings.

The Star's averages surely include all fixtures - some of which are not included in the official Greensheet averages which are onthe BSPA website and are updated after 23rd of each month for the start of the following month. If Batch had been higher than Doyle then he would have to ride at 1.

I actually think the Wolves septet looks the strongest of all on paper even with another change in riding order come September. Unfortunately though meetings aren't run on paper.

I would agree those figures in the PL say 50 points at home paying an average of £120 per point (£150 top end; £80/£100 reserves). Interesting to know what doubling up/down riders settle for? Say a PL reserve who is also a CL Heat leader?

Shame it doesn't appear to be rearrangeable for this coming Monday 12th?! Neither team has a fixture and there are no Championship meetings for those doubling-down!

Great result for Swindon. I was following updates after getting drowned out in the Poole car park. Some very interesting fixtures coming up in the next few weeks. I hope Poole and Swindon get their play-off places as it'll be good for the southern tracks.

As usual with the weather forecasts there is great variation as to when the heavy persistent rain will hit. The earliest seems to be from 3pm onwards through the evening - the latest seems from 9pm through the night. I guess if its the former then we'll know fairly soon!! Incidentally if it is rained off this evening, then next Monday 12th seems ok for both clubs?!
