Thursdays - Use them or lose them!
SteveLyric2 replied to Grachan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Sweden are only looking to Thursdays for Elitserien fixtures (as well as Tuesday) to allow all 9 clubs in 2019 to have at least one fixture each week. It wasn't an issue with 8 teams because they could all race on Tuesdays, with their 2nd division on Thursdays. The term 'Fixed Race Nights' is incorrect really as has been said by others. It should be 'Priority Race Nights'. The British Premiership will have priority as agreed by FIM for Monday and Thursday racing. However there will doubtless be some Premiership fixtures on other days eg Good Friday and some Wednesdays when other countries will have priority if there are rider clashes. Mondays and Thursdays were designated priority in 2018 but Premiership clubs reluctantly agreed to go Mon/Weds under pressure from some Championship Thursday clubs who threatened not to run if they were shifted from their regular night. Its good to see that sense has finally prevailed. -
Chris Holder will surely wish to retain regular access to his son, now that has been sorted in the courts, so I can't imagine him being based abroad - it would rather defeat the object?!
-
Jack Holder (Poole Asset) 7.39 for Chris Harris and the 2.5% reduction for Shanesie = 42.47 All Poole assets.
-
It was stated that Matt was already in conversation with Rosco - probably about the Premiership Shield fixture (or could it be about Nick Morris?!)
-
Nope - nothing about play-offs.
-
Don't know, you'll have to ask your promoters.
-
Interesting choice of words in the statement ie 'reaching a commercial agreement'!!?? I wonder if that is in any way a temporary situation, similar to what Buster did with Leicester after the Hemsley debacle? Ged Rathbone staying on is a complete about-turn for him based on his previous statements.

Where's Incognito when you need a comment (or retraction)?! ha ha. -
Not sure the 2.5% reference is clearly stated on the official AGM statement? No surprise there. We usually have to wait a couple of days for the follow-up statement that seeks to clarify any misunderstandings from the main statement plus anything that they forgot to include. :-)

It was stated publicly at the R.E.F. function last night (relayed by Matt Ford) that there would likely be 2 Monday tracks an 5 Thursday tracks (possibly 3M and 4Th). Poole will run mainly on a Thursday although for TV it'll be Mondays. There will be the occasional Wednesday meeting due to when all the Thursday tracks are against each other, if that make sense. Poole will continue with Good Friday and BH Mondays. The first home meeting is likely to be around the 10/11 April 2019. The club will announce 2 new co-promoters (not owners - Matt will still own the club) around the end of this month - they are expected to be officially licenced by the end of November. Expect the first rider announcement to also be around the same time. NO mention of a new club main sponsor as yet.

More likely Hans Andersen, Hans Fan!!

You do know its still 42.5 points for team building don't you?! (PS. I think JD will be at one of the other clubs up that way!!)
-
Chris Louis is still running the Witches - he is the designated Promoter, even though Buster is the new owner.

C'mon Mods/Admin - change to the Championship section now. The BSPA website have already made the changes. I can't believe the speed of it.
