  1. Hardly by 'default' if you follow MF's reasoning in the Echo. Josh is the obvious choice.
  2. So is it the 5 that have the colours wrong or just the 2?!
  3. So is Masters going to be fully fit for the first meeting? He had withdrawn from the Ben Fund Bonanza if it had gone ahead!!
  4. If I was Swindon';s main sponsor I would be strongly objecting to the race suit zipper going right through the middle letter of my logo!! Surely it would be better to one side?! Maybe it was a 'pikey' designer that did it??!
  5. Brady's deal was done before he went back to Australia last season!! Dudek was a definite target last season, but I seriously doubt whether he could be comfortably afforded this year. Poole, like most clubs I presume, run to an annual budget which will be based on expected achievements, crowd numbers, sponsorship etc. Its no secret that Poole have had 2 successive seasons of 'under-achievement' by their own high performance standards - made even worse by injuries and dramatic under performing by certain riders!! That said, there has clearly been an unexpected financial strain on the club's budget which MF is attempting to address for the coming season and is cutting his cloth in selected areas accordingly. Fortunately sponsorship and advertising income is still very buoyant, whilst turnstile income will no doubt be swelled when the team are successful again - eg season ticket sales have already been reported as being the best for 10 years!! An improved customer experience has been promised with track work and grandstand seating improvements already done and other racenight/presentation tweaks underway. Personally I can't wait for the team fixtures to begin on Good Friday. Bring it on.
  6. Commercial Manager??? Who was that then? Poole have taken on a designer and a media agency!!
  7. Swedes don't have team race suits and I don't see them being criticised. Even some countries didn't have team suits in the old WTC.
  8. So just for clarification on this Poole thread, are Somerset having racesuits or not, Naijer?? Its Poole's 70th Anniversary year so a 70th Anniversary race bib with main sponsors front and back is a sensible option for this season. Many of Poole's sponsors also do individual deals with riders so expect rider kevlars to be suitably adorned also.
  9. Very few promoters have a rider in the GPs!! and those that do probably can't afford the Cardiff prices?!
  10. Fogo look as though they'll be missing Piotr Pawlicki due to injury!!
  11. Should have got Glyn Taylor in to sort it!!! lol
  12. One signing still to be announced!!
  13. Major resurfacing road works from mid-March scheduled for Wimborne Road meaning one way traffic only from the George Pub roundabout. The southbound Wimborne Road route from the New Inn junction all the way to the George roundabout will be CLOSED. Work starts 12th March and will last approx 3 weeks - longer if there's bad weather!! The club are advising fans to park in the Dolphin Shopping Centre car park and walk to the stadium for P&P day; the 70th Anniversary meeting (Gates open 17.30 with a prompt start time of 1900 hrs) - and possibly the Good Friday meeting too.
  14. As for your last sentence - there are quite a few fans of a similar opinion!!!
  15. You would think there are more than enough spanners in and around Swindon to help him out - at least judging by this forum!!
  16. Nick Morris is looking for a locally-based mechanic for the coming season!!!
  17. Just because the report about the track repairs (with photos) only appeared last Tuesday, 27th Feb, doesn't mean that the work was only just done!!
  18. It'll be interesting to see whether Chris Holder favours the Torun meeting or Poole's 70th Anniversary meeting and Gala Dinner (23/24 March), for which its been announced that he is attending?!
  19. Most football clubs have more than enough money to pay the tax man!!
  20. The track work carried out by Glyn Taylor has reportedly been done in consultation with Matt and Chris Holder. Chris is reported to be very pleased with it. Seeing it first hand before the snow and ice arrived, it looked smooth and pristine with a tad more banking?!
  21. According to the SS today, Team GB is to be 'franchised out' to a private entity rather than BSPA. It would seem that Rob Painter of Revolution Speedway is the frontrunner for the franchise, with the BSPA's insistence that Rosco remains Team Manager - at least for this coming season. Comments........?!
