Agreed 110%!! Another thing, at many (most?) speedway tracks, its not the speedway promoter that gets the beer and refreshment money, its the stadium owner!!

Poole have a Twitter feed which also gives race by race updates of home and away Poole meetings. They also encourage fans into the pits up to 30 minutes before start time (I know some other clubs also encourage this), but these are both things for existing fans!!! To attract new fans - no matter what their age - it has to be about entertainment, excitement, controversy(?!) and value for money (ie cheaper than it is at the moment) - but that will mean a major reduction in costs to riders, which in turn would mean lower wages and savings that can be passed on to fans, either by cheaper admission and/or extra attractions !! The thing with 'other attractions' is that it would need to be a range of different things aimed at the variable age groups - one man's marching band is another man's torture!!

Thats when the series takes in Australia, USA, Argentina (subject to safety concerns) and Russia, from which the top riders will never return, meaning there won't be any league speedway to be televised anywhere!!!

Strange how they only highlight the added new rules but never seem to delete any old ones - thereby just adding to the confusion and different interpretations!!

What a shame and not for the want of a lot of hard work by Alex Harkess amongst others. Mainly down to pay rates, I gather, as it had been decided which teams riders would represent, based upon either their country of origin or the team they had been signed to the longest. To even up team strengths, the British teams could have dropped their 6 and 7 and replaced them with other club assets - in Poole's case eg Lindback and Walesek. For Swindon, not sure, as they don't seem to do assets!! Anyway all a bit academic now, but an even bigger disaster for retaining the Sky contract!!!!

There's no issue with TV or sponsors - other than in the UK, which has the worst support of the leading speedway nations!! New rounds coming on stream and the best field of riders for some time. All they need to do now is find a better TV company/audience in the UK and maybe consider running it at a different time or a different day?!
