  1. Meeting sponsors Shale Events are offering any Poole fan who brings a copy of Wednesdays matchday programme a £5 discount on entry!! If the name rings a bell, Shale Events is the 'company' behind the 'Weston Rebels'!!!
  2. I did hear from a very reliable source that the attendance was very poor - less than 500!! Maybe its the psychological £20 barrier?
  3. Meanwhile, Brother Steve was disappointed Poole didn't hit 60+! Can't see Poole doing that at the Coliseum on Tuesday though! Maybe 46 points will have to do?!
  4. As evidenced by the wide range of opinions on forums such as this, speedway fans can have very different views on what they want their speedway to be. Some want close racing with loads of 3-3s, some want loads of passing no matter who wins, some want as many 5-1s for their own team, some want 4-2, 2-4,4-2 as long as their team doesn't lose. Some want to see 'top' riders in winning teams, some want teams of equal strength. All options can be exciting for some and boring for others.
  5. I assume the car park - as with the whole stadium - is owned by the Council, so whoever takes the money (cash or app) surely hands it over to the Council less their agreed 'commission'. As I say last night the guys and gals taking the cash were the same ones as in past seasons....!
  6. The stadium parking app is Just Park or you can pay cash on entry. The people taking the cash are the same as in recent seasons.
  7. This is Championship section mate. BV and Tigers can get used to it next season in the 'one league' set-up!!
  8. Just for the record it rained briefly earlier in the day. The water bowser and track grader were on track at 6.30pm. 'Terry the track' has been doing an excellent job with the track prep for the past season and a half or so. It was just extra slick last night and the Glads simple weren't gating until it was too late. It's a shame that the next home meeting is against...........Plymouth!!
  9. Race day update: Slight rain shower first thing this morning, now bright and breezy with sunshine forecast later. For anybody travelling from the East/North, please avoid the major road closures around the Tower Park routes! Even the alternatives are beset with other roadworks so leave extra travelling time!!
  10. For Oxford to 'move up', would they have an issue with moving away from their Wednesday race night? Similarly Poole!
  11. I don't see any point in comparing one-off PCMM or FIM meetings with weekly league or cup speedway. It's different gravy and requires different approaches which will vary depending on the various locations and catchment areas.
  12. If people can't make it, the meeting is streamed on BSN rather than the usual Pirates TV.
  13. So Garry May changing the riding order around with Barker at 4. Tomorrow at Poole he's listed at 3. Maybe it'll be a regular home/away switch? EDIT: Updated riding order - Barker stays at 4.
  14. OK I take the point. Your greyhound knowledge is far greater than mine. My point was that Swindon dogs is still run by GI who ran Poole and who you said were the worst operators!
  15. At the time the GI statement said that Poole dogs and trainers would be going to Swindon where they are still operating under GI (presumably successfully) despite the drawn out saga of whether speedway could still operate?!
  16. I don't believe Speedway should be compared to any indoor sport eg. Darts, Ice Hockey etc which have a comfortable, hospitality-driven atmosphere as well as being exciting in their own way and also building up (promoting?) Individual players.
  17. Ask Plymouth. The Polish U24 league operates a squad system so its possible to work around any fixture clashes. ps. Sorry RandR you got there before me.
  18. The 'one league' concept would have to be based on the current Championship level+ which would NOT mean a weaker product imo. Further more clubs would be allowed to race on the night that best suits their connurbation and if that means clashing with some foreign leagues/competitions so be it.
  19. The football club have big ambitions for eventually the Football League????? If they ever get close to it, Poole Stadium would not be acceptable and would need a total revamp as a number of things do not meet FL minimum requirements.
  20. Racing on a Saturday will only suit those clubs in a location that doesn't have loads of other leisure attractions, aside from the possibility of being up against Football and many other sports.
  21. Why would it be a 'much weaker product'? However riders without the doubling up option will want to demand a higher rate of pay from their one club, so the cost of admission will very much be relevant? NB. I want to hear from Phil Morris......!
  22. As greyhound racing has apparently 'evolved since covid' maybe that message could be filtered down to Gaming International at Poole so that they could reintroduce it as part of their lease agreement with the Council who own Poole Stadium?
  23. Unfortunately thats what happens in a regional group competition with pressure on to complete before end April, plus being 'drawn' against the same club in the KO Cup
  24. not pessimistic, i' m saying it'll be a win but also competitive.
