Championship League Predictions
Steve Shovlar replied to W9 Lion's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I hope some of the racing makes up for the lack of overall quality. Just had a browse at the teams. All a bit of a mish mash. Poole clearly stand out as the team to beat as expected. Can’t see why anyone rates the budgies. Other than Eddie they don’t look that good, though it will be great fun reviving the rivalry and picking up our usual win at Arlington. Leicester look ok but it’s gate and go. Just have to get to the first bend leading and it’s all over. More passing on The Bidding Room. The rest? Nothing to see. By the way I see the name Paul Hurry in the Kent side. Is that old ex rider Paul Hurry’s son? If not.....hahaha.. As for Plymouth, having two old riders in Bjarne and Crump might get the crowd in for a few meetings but when they are trailing at the back that novelty will soon wear off. Still, this has to be better than last year. -
Poole Pirates 2021
Steve Shovlar replied to Pirates Of Poole's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Just thought I would wake up the thread. No news or anything to say, other than wishing everyone a merry Christmas, with the hope that we can start next season on time with fans allowed inside stadiums. Oh, and Pirate dominance of course. -
Believe it came back just inside the tolerances. Remember the hubbub but can’t remember who the rider was.
-
Shame on Ceislak. His ego cost Poland big time. Glad Poland didn’t win it. As for teamGB. Can we get any lower? Difficult to achieve to be honest. We hear every year that all these youngsters are fighting to win through. Then end up as second strings in the second division at best.
-
Plastic Pole. Disposed of when he isn’t any use at reserve for his club. Hopefully the Russian team manager will never pick him for what he did.
-
Ceislaks ego cost Poland. Thought he was bigger than what was right for his nation.
-
Well done Russia. Fully deserved.
-
All far, far better riders than our current crop, excluding Woffinden. No depth, no world class in the GB setup bar one.
-
How can they call second? Berntzon was laying it down
-
Crap. Call it off.
-
After that, there is no excuse to call it off.
-
I remember the days of Collins, Morton, Simmons, Jessup, Louis.
-
Too much for him tonight. Bottled it twice.
-
Hope they paid the flights themselves. Haven’t done anything.
-
Ridiculous to have two managers. Get Middlo back to install some fight and pride.
-
We have Bewley, a second string at best, and Lambert, tonight a bottler. How we have fallen from years past.
-
What a prat Lambert is.
-
I guess this is aimed at me. Where have I critiqued the commentary? I think they do a tremendous job. Yes it’s been set up for the Poles. Please surprise me and call it at heat 14 with the Russians one point up. Yes, most of this season has been woeful to watch. Sweden farcical. Poland mostly poor with a few decent meetings, in the lower league. Best meeting was at Gdansk this year.
-
Then Poland have massive luck in draws.
-
Huge error to use Lindsey I that heat. Use him against Czech or us.
-
A gamble in wet conditions.
-
So why couldn’t this have been held at Belle Vue?
-
Oh look, when Poland meet Russia, they have the inside gates......well done to Laguta to upset the fixed draw.
-
. Never said that. But seriously, call this crap off now and forget about it. A nonsense of a meeting.
