Really enjoyed my first visit to Somerset, although the journey took me 6 hours due to M5 being blocked & my diversion causing me to do 2 miles in 90 minutes! Very good news that Kyle is ok. My opinion was he had a little too much speed going into the bend, & couldn't get round. Wouldnt blame Birks, & the same goes for the Morris incident. Shame the crash caused such a long delay, although I did manage to occupy my time in the very impressive clubhouse! Will definitely get back there next year as the racing was very good.
Thanks for the info chaps. Is there any chance of rain down Somerset way before Friday? Hougaard should do well for the Rebels, he is on fire for Panthers. Think Dyer is more of a gamble for Scunny. Could anyone recommend somewhere to stop within 20 miles of the track.
Fair play for your honest answer David. There was no suggestion on my part that your actions were deliberate. Ryan rode really well for very little reward, but you can see he is riding with more confidence. Sorry if my question gave Scunny 1 the chance to have a pop.
Credit to the boys who prepared the track, cos there was a lot of rain to contend with. Some breathtaking passes by Auty, Blackbird & Birks. Am I the only one who thought that Howe caused Douglas to fall & should have been excluded rather than Douglas ?
Lets hope that DH doesnt go down the Mallets route to self destruction. After all the hard work put in by a lot of people, it would be a tragedy if Leicester was lost to speedway again. The track maintenance equipment issue is a worry, because rider safety has to be priority.
The problem would be finding a buyer, because its not an easy business to make money. It takes a lot of man hours to run, & if you put in 70+ hours a week into it, & dont make any money, your enthusiasm will quickly evaporate. It has been said before, but the best thing the fans could do, is raise the money to alter the track.
Although Leicester isnt my team, I decided to go & have a look as I used to go to Blackbird Road. Over the last 3 seasons I have been about 8 times in total. The racing hasnt been up to scratch in my opinion, & although I might try again later in the season, its not a venue I will visit on a regular basis. I have been to 11 tracks this season, & apart from Cardiff, its the worst track I have witnessed. With all the other facilities so good, I can see why regular Leicester fans are frustrated.
Tully was good for the Panthers a few seasons back, & always had time for a chat. Delighted he scored well on his comeback from a serious injury. Newcastle look very strong with him back, & are favourites to win the PL in my opinion.
Should have kept Blackbird & released Roynon & Nielsen as soon as it was clear that Adam was going to miss a few weeks. At the time you had over 8 points for the other rider & when Adam returned to fitness he could have come back into the team to replace any of the riders that are struggling to find their form.
