Photography Restrictions At Meetings
f-s-p replied to Willowman's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
There are plenty good photographers and people who know better than me, but me thinks flash is useless while photographing speedway. Drones might drop and cause serious damage. My thinking stops there. -
Photography Restrictions At Meetings

Not one photographer uses flash while shooting from the outside. What are you on about Doug? I dont even own one, but thats purely a financial stance. Someone will probably know better and tell us, but as my camera shoots 8 times a sec, the isnt a flash that can keep up. Drones are a HUUGE safety risk and should be banned in all motorcycle sport. -
Because you loved it and wanted it to live long and prosper? Much like we (as in other people) do now.

Basic copycat mentality in all motorsport. If yourr not as good as Tai, buy his gloves, leathers, engine or carb and you will improve. But naturally you wont as you are hsit and you wont improve without practising over and over again...

Now that you've given me something to pick up on... ...and thats it's biggest problem, lack of riders. Because there arent enough, stupid rules hav to be written that everyone can ride everywhere. And when they get injured, hsit hit's the fan. Build from the ground up, but put the focus on increasing the number of riders. By doing that, you get new people in to the sport, new connections, new money, new volunteers... Especially this last sentence needs to happen quick, as the people that are currently keeping this boat afloat are getting old, tired and eventually broke...

I'm more in favour of "more than one"... Would put a smiley, but this is not fun. -
Kylmäkorpi on twitter this week saying he's been using rev limiters all year and done min 89 heats between services.

2017 Grand Prix Venues

Just finished reading my morning paper where there was talk about the latest politician arrest's in Russia. They outright said that stuff like this is most likely part of behind the scenes power struggle in the goverment. So stuff happens in Russia and just one confiscated bike on the border can define someone's future in sport for quite a few years. So why take the risk? After the mentioned 2010 race off one Finnish rider turned back from his EC ice speedway trip when the border control wanted some paperwork that was not actually needed. At the same time another one was cleared to enter just at another checkpoint. EDIT: And one of the Danish riders think did have his bike taken when they visited Russia for the u21 team final a few years back. -

The people that have given the Challenge for Togliatti are aware of all the problems. Guess we just have to trust that all the issues are sorted and no one will have their van turned back at the border or bike forbidden entry due a lack of brown envelope. -

So you read speedweek.de? = ) -
... and also gives the best chance for Team GB to win their Event and make the final. Kind of true that one as well, sorry.

Yeah, realistically. Porin Nopea Racing actually won it having used two different Elitserien riders (Kylmä and Edberg) and one PL rider (Lunna). And we would actually be the closest to have a team without a huge fuss of who's allowed to appear for who. EDIT: Forgot to add that if it's ever ridden again.

I dont have a problem with BSPA or ACU hosting a SEC round. My problem is that all FIM Europe fed's had until Sep 30th to apply for allocations slots. Having received them (what I would have done) theyve combined the lists, seen how many applicants and how many slots and made a preliminary list of how it's done. They had a big conference last weekend to go over things like this. Now if they start taking late entries 6 weeks after deadline from fed's that have a history of not giving a ffökc, I think thats wrong. Mainly because I know Poland is not the one having to give their slots away, it's the smaller countries like us. Dont like that at all...

And Ham is possibly back on his feet in that sense?

The fact is that at this point there are no fixtures to clash in Europe for speedway 2017. I find it a bit odd that Konikiewicz is in fact asking in twitter for ACU riders for a wildcard, as the deadline for feds was 5 weeks ago. EDIT: another tweet asking riders to put pressure on ACU. So like said, deadline is long gone...

So this is fact then?
