  1. Thats how it has been done. Dont think it is written in the rules, just practise that has been carried through the years. I know it was not in the book when it worked in favour of a Finnish rider.
  2. No, it's U21 so as long as you are 20 at the start of the year. Cant see how that year can be correct?? 1992 makes you 22 this year, so you just cant take part in the U21's.
  3. Not putting any money on it, but offset engines came about the same time as the current silencers. Baby offset is newer.
  4. So why did they build one that they knew was against the rules? Like Demski. Theres a reason why the rule did not change regarding how the silencers should be built. I dont know what it is though. I saw an insert probably of the same guys on Cmore a while back. They did ask good questions. Incidentally, I'd say you can use packing for isolation in the new ones, just that it cant be in contact with the fumes. A bit stupid comment IMO. I have a list on my home PC about everyone since Kenny Olsson 2008. Lets just cut it short from the date that 115db was made mandatory, blame each on silencers and then ask why nothing was done. I still think the silencer is not the only cause. It's a combibation of things. Offset engines being one of the big ones.
  5. So the incidents have nothing to do with the offset/ baby offset engines introduced after the current silencers? EDIT: new silencers will be introduced 010115. They are the same design with lower dB. Maybe better wake up and start to live with them.
  6. Should have written in clearer, sorry. This from Pirjo Ruutu, Finnish Antidoping ry. :"By giving a positive breath test regarding alcohol, he might not yet have breached the alcohol limits when doping violation is concerned. We would need all the reports of the incident to investigate the matter and then decide after careful examination whether a doping offence has actually happened. Still, it's always better to give the breath test, since by not giving it you are in reality saying no to a doping test, so you would therefor fail one and be guilty of a doping offense."
  7. I spoke with Finnish antidoping office today. So far we know, that Darcy has broken FIM rules regarding alcohol by giving a breath test over the limit. Thats DOES NOT MEAN he has made a doping violation. Theres a different limit for that one. I dont know what it is, did not ask but probably higher than the zero tolerance FIM has. So comparing him to Dudek is not right, Dudek broke the WADA rules of doping, Darcy has SO FAR only broken FIM rules. They said they would need all the reports and receipts of the story to make further calls on the subject. I guess they'd need pee or blood to have a so called B-sample. If they dont have that, cant see how they could get him for a doping offense? Other than the report from the scene saying how much the alcometer showed when the test was given. From the discussion we had, so far things have gone pretty much according to the books. The grapevine says FIM could have been harder on him in Daugavpils. Also morally maybe MA could have revoked his start permit. Neither of them did, so Darcy has been able to make some money for ten days to have a few drinks on his hols...
  8. Popular story I hear at times... An ice racing GP in Hamar, random riders selected for the test. All blew over the limit. Another test. Same results. The police doing the test blows it, over the limit. Reason? Methanol fumes inside the rink and pit area. They go outside, take another device and all blow zero. Including the police.
  9. They can pick who they want. The list ends at MJJ.
  10. It's not about FIM, it's about WADA. World Antidoping Agency. They give the rules for medics in sport. Knit-picking, yes I am.
  11. Finnish Antidoping was at our final at Seinäjoki last weekend. TOP3 stayed after the meeting for a pee. Must have been 4th year in a row they were present. It's not just a FIM thing. Also, every ambulance has a "top-spec" alcometer on board, so basically if a ref or clerk of the course wants someone tested, it's no biggie.
  12. But if WADA says so, its 2 years. This is from someone else's post earlier stating if FIM is not strict enough, WADA steps in...
  13. Nerikens Allehand = Kumla. Indianerna vs Dudeks Dackarna... Getting the picture... = )
  14. ...with half a dozen different marketing names of which none are usually printed on the box. ...with half a dozen different marketing names of which none are usually printed on the box.
  15. One would love to think so. From past 10 years I think only Kaj Laukkanen and Tero Aarnio have prioritized our final over other commitments. I appreciate it a lot. Lahti's case is quite simple and perfect example. He makes about 1,5k from the Eastie meeting ( MY ESTIMATE TO MAKE THIS EXAMPLE) and on the other hand would have to dish out the same to appear in Finland on his brothers bikes. Thats 3k in between.
  16. ... riders, as in plural. A brit, thats just one. It does not add up.
  17. Possibly because its easier said than "nylon racing suit".
  18. Actually the silencer that was designed and built by mr demski, a FIM technical official himself did build a silencer that met the decibels but was illegal by construction. Still not convinced they are using it. Theres no point in it either since its not allowed anywhere else (either).
  19. You seriously asking this? Also, dont think thePoles have any silencers of their own.
