Excellent performance from the Monarchs tonight and I thought the racing was pretty good too, as well as the close score on aggregate adding to the excitement. I think there were quite a few passes after the second bend that were not down to mistakes (Worrall on Wells heat 4, Cook on Pickering heat 5, Masters on Brennan heat 10, Worrall and Masters on Wells heat 13). Very impressed by Tom Brennan on his first appearance at the track. I thought he and Cookie were going to rescue the Tigers in heat 15 but Sam and Richie were very determined.

Glasgow V Edinburgh KO Cup 10 October
eide67 replied to Endeavour's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That's a shame, was looking forward to watching this, as can't attend in person. Have Glasgow given up on live streaming this season? Nothing on their website other than "THERE ARE NO UPCOMING EVENTS. CHECK BACK LATER." -
Curfew is 10pm at Armadale, but meeting now abandoned due to lack of medical cover as track ambulance had to take James to hospital because NHS quoted 'up to 12 hours' for NHS ambulance to arrive and track ambulance wouldn't have got back in time to run even 10 heats. Implication is that with current ambulance crisis (in Scotland at any rate) any rider being injured badly enough to require to go to hospital will mean automatic abandonment of meeting.

Great to have a live stream to watch and aside from the technical issues it was very good. If I had to be hyper-critical I would say some of the race coverage could have been better, e.g. seemed to miss the outside of bend 4 quite a lot (Josh was disappearing out of the picture) and sometimes followed the race at the back when the front was closer and vice versa, but these things will improve the more you do it. Glasgow have the most professional live stream (but I think they pay someone to provide it). Edinburgh's is in house and is great and has been improving - they have interviews with riders and others and they've recently added a pit camera and (most importantly) replays of the races.

Excellent performance from all the Monarchs. If Jason's bike hadn't packed up in heat 8, all 6 would have had at least one race win. Great racing on a great track with Josh, as usual, the stand-out. Drew Kemp brilliant. Bears definitely missed Palm Toft and the score would have been closer if he'd been there, but I still fancy Monarchs would've won. Great to be able to watch it on the live stream even although there were a few issues with it. Now going to watch it back.

Excellent news! Good luck for next season.

Watched this on the live stream an it was a very enjoyable match. Riders missing on both sides but those there gave 100% effort. Kent more affected by missing riders but this was evened up by George Rothery's machine problems all night until he finally came out on borrowed machinery to win his last heat. There was heavy rain early on but these NDL lads just got on with it. For the Devils Danny and Tom were rock solid but I've been very impressed with the improvement in both the Millar boys this season - especially Gregor. This is exactly what this league is supposed to do. For Kent, Alex Spooner and Vinnie Foord caught the eye with battling and skilful performances.

Can only assume they have other commitments or don't want to ride the heavily criticised Birmingham track. Anyway good luck to Tom, hope he has a good night. I don't know how much experience he has of the Birmingham track but I did see that he rode there for Redcar in 2019, scoring 1 from 3 in a 53-37 win for the Bears. His reserve partner that night was Nathan Greaves scoring 10+2 from 5.

Could also have had Rising Stars whose actual average is below Nathan's. You can't tell their averages from the SGB site but it definitely includes Connor Bailey and Jordan Jenkins who have already covered for him successfully in the past week.

It's the league match - cup match is later in the month. Got to say with Tom Woolley in for Nathan, Anders Rowe R/R, and the first time on the track for Kye, this will be an uphill battle for the Monarchs and they could struggle to reach the 38 points they require.
