Is Newman going to be here for this one? He is listed as riding in the GP qualifier at Gorican, Croatia on Saturday. Comfortable away win whether he rides or not. Really looking forward to watching Robert Lambert again. An absolute joy to watch a few weeks ago. -
I have NEVER said that for one moment. Please don't put words into my mouth. Brendan is only temporary cover at Rye, so could easily have been signed. Maybe Eagles did or didn't ask, I don't know. Eagles have made their choice. Good luck to them.

Take a chill pill and stop being such a drama queen. I sincerely hope Danny makes a full recovery. I do not like to see any rider, whatever their ability, injured. I know all 3 riders personally, and financially helped them in the past,so feel I can and will comment when I want to. Not when you or anyone else tells me to. You approve of anything the Dugard's do. Fair enough that's your choice. My opinion differs, that's my choice. I will continue to post comments as and when I want to. Im not going away. If you don't like my posts, please feel free to use the 'ignore' tab available to all users of this website.

I agree with Islander. Bates missed a fair few midweek meetings for Devon last season. He has a got a false NL average due to the imbalance of home fixtures. To be fair though, I think he has ridden more laps of both Plymouth and Somerset than any other rider! He is a white line rider and rarely ventures far from it. Trust me, No one but no one can ride the line tighter, even Mason. Oh and by the way, Andrews would of course recommend Bates. They are related! I said ages ago that when the Eagles had a choice of who to drop, it should have been Warwick.

Big mistake. Eagles will suffer. Johnson would have been a far better bet.

New Track record at Plymouth on Friday. New time is 49.36 by Ashley Morris in Ht2.
-
Where to start? Kennett blitzed Ht1, very very quick indeed, just outside track record. Morris gated and gone in Ht2,looked good. Track record. In the words of Jim Royal from the Royal Family.....my arse!!!! If they were in the same race, Kennett would have won by 50 metres plus. Once again, Devils let down by Fisher. Nowhere at all in Ht1.Then in Ht10, he fell when in 3rd place. Not good enough. Plymouths team riding, or lack of it had to be seen to be believed. Morris in a comfortable 2nd in Ht7, when Holder steamed under him entering 3rd turn. Morris had to check his position and in doing so, fell and couldn't pick his bike up in time, race stopped. Neither would have caught race leader Mellgren. Stupid manoeuvre. In Ht10, Fisher forced Simota wide on exit of turn 2,Rockets already well clear. Fisher then fell and Simota gave chase, almost catching Boxall. Simota finally came off the white line and looked much improved from recent performances. Holder is a breath of fresh air, battling for every point. Great to watch. Saw Chris Holders first few meetings for IOW a while back. Very very similar. All that is missing is his gating. Once he sorts that out, look out. Plenty of effort from Morten and Ashley, but R/R was never going to help. Kennett was a different class altogether. In cruise mode. Boxall seemed to be on a different bike each time he took to the track. Sargeant moved at the start 3 times and scored 5+1. Sat still twice and failed to score. Expected win and well done Rockets.

Still no news if the Devils are going with R/R for Newman or using a guest. R/R was not good last week. This week is likely to be worse. Holder and Simota can take a ride, plus the two reserves. Assuming Newman is listed at No.5, that means in one of the heats, 4,7 or 11, Devils would have both reserves out together. Then only Fisher plus a reserve in Ht13. Comfortable away win I feel.

Rye House V Plymouth Lc 11th April

Well well well. The Plymouth Speedway Forum has been heavily edited this morning. Most of the comments slating rider performances are still there, been anyone having a go at Trigger or the Promotion have been watered down. I can assure you there was a lot more on there last night! http://plymouthdevils.proboards.com/thread/6156/rye-house-devils-saturday-11th. -

Jack Holder. Thank you for your effort tonight. Superb. Morten Risager. Thank you for your honest comments about the Devils performance. Didn't mince his words. Worked hard for little reward. Why isn't he permanent Captain? Sam Simota had one flying effort, Ashley Morris tried hard, no complaints. Sam Chapman showed improvement, before his unfortunate accident. Getting there slowly. Ryan Fisher was abysmal. Slid off when under no pressure at all. Then, as predicted by our small group, he over rode and crashed to try and make amends. No where at all in Ht15. This is why I am not a fan of him. Two home meetings and 3 falls. Not really acceptable for a No.1, is it? Why weren't the crowd informed of the reasons why Ty Proctor wasn't riding, until Lee Trigger was interviewed while Sam Chapman was being attended to by the medics in Ht14? After all, as Trigger said, he knew on Thursday night he wouldn't be there. Why wasn't this information relayed to the club website/twitter? After all, this promotion have claimed that they will always be honest, open and truthful with everyone. Very very poor PR and misleading the fans. Well done Peterborough. Robert Lambert was everything I was expecting and a whole lot more. Awesome. An easy and fully deserved win. A good season ahead for you if this is anything to go by. Keep MPT and drop Roynon. -

I sincerely wish I was able to be there and sign Nigels book of remembrance. I will certainly take a moment of quiet contemplation at 7.30 tonight while watching Plymouth v Peterborough. Speedway needs more riders like Nigel. Sadly, they broke the mould after him. -

Going to be very close, either way. Really looking forward to watching Robert Lambert race here. Ive seen him race in Germany, before he started over here. Was exceptional at Cloppenburg, a very small circuit, where his winning times were equal to those of Doyle and Smolinski, Ostergaard will always score points here. Toft is a rider I would have liked to have seen re sign. Bjerre is either red hot or stone cold. Its going to be interesting watching young Holder. Last week, I for one, was pleased he didn't score more than he did. If he had, the SBA faithful would expect it every week. He rode with his head, not throttle. Each race he tried different lines and never once looked in trouble. Looks like he enjoyed himself at Sheffield last night too! One of my concerns is the riding order for the Devils. I would prefer Simota to ride at no.2, Pair up Risager and Holder at 3 and 4, with Newman at No.5 I feel Morten will be more of a help to Jack than wildman Fisher. Must mention Ashley Morris. An excellent debut last week, definitely the match winner. He rode steadily and sensibly, doing what was needed. Very encouraging. -

Got mine in my local Sainsburys on Thursday, no problem. The only copy I am guaranteed to buy Just like to correct the Plymouth track length though Its 207 metres, not 216 as published. Overall though, an excellent production. -
Plymouth will be using Rusty Harrison for Kyle Newman, Simon Nielsen for Ashley Morris and Matt Bates covers for Sam Chapman.
-
Does anyone have a race sheet covering a 12 rider Individual meeting, with Semi Finals and Final, please?
-
I agree with Bandits4eva. It is a very fair track at Plymouth. No obvious advantage at all. To win anything, you need riders who are going to improve on their starting averages. I just don't see where that will happen. Well, not enough to make the play offs.
