iris123, having looked at your excellent photos, and seen her being interviewed on DK4 last night, I nominate Nanna Jorgensen as the best looking rider of 2008. In fact, no one else comes close. I think the bloke in the photo with her might have shaved first, though! By the way, did the programme describe the match as a Test Match or as an international challenge match?

Yes, I watched the Danish DK4 internet feed. Not very impressive. Too much long-distance shots of the racing, no captions saying which riders were in each heat, no caption of the results for each heat. And most of the pits interviews seemed to have been carried out BEFORE the meeting. Good quality feed though, and I didn't get wet watching it. Is Vojens the Danish for Manchester?

My opinion, Trees, formed after hearing a loud discussion involving BSPA members last year. I don't find it at all surprising, Sky usually go for the top sportsmen in any sport

Poland would be a laughing stock if they have Jonsson and Holta representing them in the GP and SWC. Shouldn't think the "real" Polish riders would be too pleased about it, either.

That's strange, where are they? As far as I know, there were no meetings in Sweden or Russia tonight. Only Richardson rides in the UK, but his team Eastbourne haven't had a match all week. All on holiday? All counting their earnings for the season?

I think most of the Sky TV money ends up in the pockets of the top riders. And without the top riders, there wouldnt be Sky TV coverage And without Sky TV coverage, the top riders wouldn't be here, and so therefore nor would the Elite League. Well, that's the way I see it, anyway.

As soon as the FIM announced that reserves could only be used for injured riders, it was pretty obvious what was likely to happen. I think there should be a reserve, who could replace any other rider at any time - it all helps to make the meeting more interesting (and gives the team manager more to do) But, to prevent teams putting their best rider at the reserve position, the reserve can only have 4 rides maximum, as opposed to 5 rides for the full team members. It ain't rocket science!

The stupid rule of not having a reserve, or any way of replacing an injured rider, effectively cost Denmark the title. Too much to hope that the F.I.M will sort this out? The 4th time this competition has been held - and the 4th Polish win! Congratulations, Poland.
