We cant replace cookies scoring power....cos he was the best in the league by some way...thats one reason why we were successful. Sedgy has also gone so we need a different formula. Other teams fans may delight in our possible demise....they may be correct of course, but in the last 12 years we have got it right more often than not, so lets see what our septet looks like. Holding on to sam is v. important, but of the 3 guys we have signed both max and erik are likely to increase averages so if Kev maintains his then we have the beginnings of a good side again, and one where home advantage is key. granted i would have liked Richie w but he looks like being "lost" in the west so lets see where we turn...........just please no one with the surname Morris....

i`m flattered that other Pl teams fans seem to be worried and concerned about the monarchs team strength this year. THANK YOU ALL!! However in John and Alex we trust and that have a pretty good track record of getting competitive teams on track, so i`m confident we will be fine, maybe not quite as dominating as we have been in the last 2 years But it`s only fair we give the rest of the league a chance to win some bling...though we have been busy with the Brasso, so if you think you are good enough; lets see who can beat us in 2016. Should make for more entertainment at the dale then.....`cos last year apart from a couple of matches it was one way traffic with too many guests and R/R......

In terms of impact winning trophies and championships and cups Cookie is the greatest Monarch ever to don the blue and gold. He is and was a great team man Uber reliable when we needed him most. Last heat deciders....he's THE MAN. Forget big hitter Cookie was a sledgehammer to the opposition......and boy did we love it especially on away tracks for the locals feared him in every heat expecting to get beat. I'll take my blue and gold specs off now. Thanks for the memories Craig....and all the best marra for the future. Your name will always be associated with Edinburgh Speedway and our time in the sun.

But Rosco loves Danny King, Steady and Eddie Screwfix, so "reserve" probably no use for Cookie.............watching on Sky perhaps?? Anyway back on topic.... erik and max please....sam and sedgy if they can be persuaded to flat share again...with tegan to keep them in order! the 3 pointer is not obvious at this point..... i`d like to see richie W in a Monarchs race bib....we do have a good track record of nurturing Worrall`s on low/false averages. However maybe Kev and a 5 pointer will be the way we go. In John and Alec we trust.... they have pretty good form for team building.

Forget the British team as Rosco won`t pick him in front of his pals...... Only one appearance in a GB bib and that when Muddledick picked him at KL.....though he did struggle and was then dropped for bridger and Ben Bonkers. He has been imperious at PL level for 3-4 years, and lead Monarchs through a golden period......winning everything (max subbed in for the pairs title mind you) and so has nothing to prove at that level, it`s time to get the BV number 1 jacket and progress on the continent once the chance comes. Who knows how far he might go....it will be entertaining to watch. he is the UK number 2 behind Woffy in my opinion but has been given scant opportunity to prove it on the international stage. The Gb attitude to the European champs and pairs is a scandal when Cookie/Lambert should be blooded there, to help world cup preparation, but the blind mice don`t see the worth of these competitions. hope he gets a chance in Poland /sweden and if he sinks or swims at least he will have tried to succeed. he will always be welcome for the Scottish open mind you......along with the roo boy.

Don`t think we need too much tinkering and would be happy to have our heat leader trio back if Cookie gets fixed up in Poland, with Erik and Max ready to push up their averages. Will sam not look to return to Leicester? Ricky will manage fine at Worky.....just don`t guest too often against us with the stripes on!!

We are happy with Friday thanks. Glasgow wish to change their raceday so must present their case at the right time and persuade the electorate. We have one voice among many. The PL promoters should deal with this as they judged. I hope we abstain and do a Pontius Pilate......

Let Glasgow present their case for Friday at Bspa meeting/AGM and let the PL clubs decide as nd vote. Seems equitable and Edinburgh will join the vote as they see fit.Decision will be made and no scapegoats.We can then all plan for next year. That way 1 club cant penalize another and we can avoid chips on shoulders. Simples? Maybe not
