I wouldn't describe it Edinburgh PR in any way shape or form and the author is known to have made a few quotes up in the past to fill a column. if it is true, all Alex says he can't fit everyone in. And as far as I can see, he doesn't mention once that MC is plan B, and from reading the article the bit about the phone was from Max himself. would you rather a promoter made false promises to riders?

Hopefully he doesn't prove to be the one that got away! Very good signing for the Bears!

Max pulled out due to illness, not injury -
Peterborough Panthers 2016

I saw it mentioned somewhere yesterday (maybe on here but if I'm wrong someone can correct me) that as he's not riding for us this year, then it has nothing to do with Edinburgh, it's up to Belle Vue as they signed him first. Ridiculous if true, but then again, that's speedway! -

Hope the training schools don't make him too tired.... -
Peterborough V Somerset Pl Sunday 24th April

I had completely forgotten about Belle Vue being a Friday night now, though a good reminder would be for them to ride a home meeting sometime soon... -

If he did, then he would more than likely be part of a Monarchs re-shuffle than anywhere else, and that won't happen Can't see him back in this league for a good while, bit pointless to give up on Poland this early in the season when it's just getting started. -
Would have been unbeaten in a league meeting anyway.... Imagine being beaten by the opposition Number 8 in heat 15 though...
-
Fair enough if that's true, it makes total sense anyway.. (which is strange for British Speedway!) The last sentence is also true, if only we could see the future.
-
The Colts first Friday night meeting is the 29th of April, so I'm guessing BV have been told that he should be replaced by Mitch (assuming that's what the plan is anyway) by that date, hence there being no fixture clashes at the moment.. Also, will BV not get priority as he is their asset, or does it not work that way in the NL?

Feel sorry for the riders primarily, Kurtz & Holder especially since they don't have a second team to fall back on after travelling to the other side of the world... Hoping all can be resolved!

New Speedway Training Track
CaptainAudi replied to screm's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Great news, hopefully everything goes smoothly and runs to schedule, can only be a good thing for speedway in the north/Scotland! Looking forward to paying a visit when it opens already!! -
1. Luke Bowen (Kent - 8.52) 2. Lee Smart (IOW - 5.76) 3. Josh Bailey (Kings Lynn- 6.02) 4. Jake Knight (Eastbourne - 6.00) 5. Ellis Perks (IOW - 7.14) 6. Shelby Rutherford (Buxton - 3.50) 7. Jack Parkinson-Blackburn (Birmingham - 3.00) 39.92 if my calculations are correct..?

Ideally, I think the winner of the under 21's should be named as the reserve (unless it's lambert and he is named as a 1-4 rider, then second would be named). Unfortunately it probably won't work out that way.,..
-
I agree with this. Mitch is a nice guy and if he signs, I wouldn't be disappointed in having him, considering the rumoured lack of options we have who would want to come north every week. Really, he just has to score 3 points a meeting to have done his job well IMO, and I fully believe he will do that in the majority of meetings, even if it's just beating his opposite number a couple of times (he's fully capable of second in heat two aswell!) It maybe is slightly bending the rules but it's not completely breaking them. Also, as has been mentioned before, I can't see us relying on one rider and not be looking at other targets, so something else might crop up if someone changes their mind closer to the start of the season...
-
I think the fact that it would more than likely be BVs first home match at their new stadium would probably convince a few more than normal to travel. I do agree it wouldn't be enough to be worth it though, the fact it would be a probably be a week night would stop many people going, myself included due to work commitments. There's a good few monarchs fans that I know of going to the grand opening meeting, but doubt they would travel twice unfortunately...

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2016?
CaptainAudi replied to Paul Johnson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Was it not Lewis Blackbird who was replaced at Lakeside when Lewis Kerr became available? Probably changed his mind again prior or after that happened -
In my opinion I don't think it would have mattered when we tried to go for our 3 pointer. We would have still has the same choices left as those that are already employed by the other teams down south would never have came north anyway, even if asked in October. Most clubs will have made contact with who they wanted as soon as the ruling was announced. The only change maybe would have been ayers would maybe have came to us if we had got in before Glasgow went for him, but that's about it. That's my opinion obviously, maybe others have differing thoughts and that's fine by me.

Bridger and Kerr were confirmed on the link I saw earlier, with King down as TBC. Honestly couldn't find the link again if I tried though..
-
I maybe got the name wrong, I just had a glance at the article and it mentioned Bridger joining alongside King and Kerr? EDIT: just realised you maybe didn't know what I was referring to, see post below mines
-
I noticed Mr Bridger has been named as a face of 'Team Revolution' alongside King & Kerr. I know he's probably not wanted by lions fans after last years shambles of a comeback, but could he be plan Z?
-
He's given plenty to the Glasgow promotion though.. How to spend big bucks and still win nothing
-
I think that is the way it was described last year, but the rules change that often it's probably something completely different by now! The fog appears when the rider is an asset of a club in neither league (as is the case with Max Clegg)...
-
He was announced by both clubs on the same day (1st of December), so not really clear who he signed for first. He is a Somerset asset, which is probably why Edinburgh get priority.
