  1. He looked so much like the Josh Bates, when he was at Leicester last season, he either wins and wins big time or falls off the bike, from what we saw of him last season, I am afraid he spent more time falling off, than staying on, he really needs to put in a bit more time traing, for when watching him the other night he still dose not seem to have enough strength in his arms, to handle the bike around the bends. He will get there but not for a few more years.
  2. I watched the meeting today on Sky. Must say I am thoughly impressed with the work that has been done on the stadium. We could do with a few more stadiums like this one up and down the country. To all the Glascow fans up there. You should all be very proud, of what has been done. Good luck to the team, they derserves the win, just shows you what can be done by the right people who are totally behind a club.
  3. Unless they put him in manicles, after every meeting and keep him in solitary confinement, I am sure that is the only way that they will keep Darcy from falling foul of the law again. Give him 12 months at the most before he doe's something daft again. Hope I am proved wrong, because if he keeps his nose clean he has so much to offer the sport of speedway. He just seems to fail to be able to sort out his personal life, I hope that they have brought someone in, who will give him, a few pointers in the right direction. Because he has had no help on that front, since he started in the sport.
  4. We have the gung guns goming through the ranks now. The only problem, I can see with most of them unlike the other nations, very few of our young riders have riden in anything other than the NL, PL or at reserve berth in the EL.Riders of their age from the other countries have been competeing at a higher level and have much more experiance of other countries track, than any of our lads have, to say we are holding them back is an uderstaetment. A few years back these lads would have been ridinging in the EL in a full team place and would have now been far better riders than the stage they are at now in their career. I sit and wonder at times why they don't seem to get the chances to proves there selves, as young riders did in the 70's or 80's. These guys need to be blooded with the best of them to be able to up their game. Or we are going to see them, ending up the same way as a lot of other failed British lads. Is that why the promoters don't give them what they need, because of all the ones in the past who failed to fulfil their protentials. British speedway is in a bad state of affairs now, if they don't do their best to help these lads along, then come 2020, we will not be able to put a team of 4 decent riders together.
  5. I hope he manages to keep on the right side of the law in future. But looking at his recent past, if he starts of sqeecky clean, how long will it be before he comes off the rails again
  6. As for the post on do they take out insurance, I think it would be very hard to file a claim for nothing better than a pile of horse manure. Because that is what was dished out the night of the 18th of April 2015. Not a night that many true speedway fans will want to remember, also don't think it will make it into the top 20,,000 speedway meetings of all time.
  7. British speedway has been in a bad way for a number of years now, we have some good lads coming through the ranks at the moment, can't for on moment see why Garrity has not had the nod. Think Rosco has got the Worrals mixed up and picked the wrong one. These youngster need some track time against riders of their own age and against some of the worlds top riders if they are ever going to get anywhere.
  8. Not 100% certain on this one but there are a few on the Leicester thread who are saying that he has been practicing around BP and that he is signing for the Lions, only time will tell if it is true or not.
  9. I agree with he he has just turned his back on the British speedway scene. e should have been proud to have rode in the pairs, but he prfered to go and ride in a practice sesion, then meet his sponsers which could have been done any other day and then meet with a Polish mayor, some prority to his country. Lets hope we get some good young lads coming through the system and they can then tell him to go and stay in Poland.
  10. I think things will be going along at a cracking pace in the board room after another home defeat. DH will now be pulling his hair out by the roots, after trying to get together a better team this year, that has failed him miserably. Can see a few more changes on the track and off in the next week or so, it should have been done and sorted out weeks ago.
  11. It seems to me that the Poles have more power in our sport than all the ruling bodies put togethet. What the Polish clubs say to the riders is you will do as told. Full stop, how many times now have we seen them stop Polish riders from coming over here, they have far to much control over the sport.
  12. How many times are UK clubs going to carry on signing overseas riders who only seem to use the British clubs to earn a few pennies to fill uo the bank balance until thier own leagues start. How many times have we seen it now, that they come and leave the club in lerch, without letting them know they are not coming back. Can't really say he will be missed much though. Just have to wait to see how we get now, and how long before Norrie has to look for something else to do.
  13. Luckily the wind has dropped in speed a bit but could still be a cold night at BP, it seems to have been built as a wind testing tunnel. Is there any truth in the fact that Pederson has been sacked, would not suprise me as he just didn't want to be there, Think this will be the last we see of him in the UK. unless he drops down to NL racing, which is about all he can muster these days, his glory days are over and done with, as we have seen this year at the Lions/.
  14. The weather looks like it will stay dry now and windy, the pressure has risen slowly all day, after hitting a low last night, so the rain that was predicted just blew away towards the North coast and over to Demark. It seems that the best bet these days is to scrap teams and just use 7 riders that you can get hold of for the nights racing, which is just what is happening now. You just can't call a team when you have half of them missing. Hope the Lions win, with this wind it will be a very chilly night at BP, it can be cold there even on the best of days when the wind blows from over the pits. Get your thermals out, you might need them tonight.
  15. He is that dedicated to the sport of speedway and representing his country at world level, that he has stated that he will not race in the pairs meeting, because he has practice in Poland and also a meeting with the mayor. Some dedication but to which country.
  16. We may all be saved from this very meaningless meeting the Lions with half a team and the Bees not really buzzing at full power, the weather may yet save the day. Things are not looking good, the pressure has been dropping alarmingly all day, from the way things are shaping up we could get some heavy rain in around 6 hours, and tomorrow from the Satelitte images there is more rain sweeping in across the UK in the morning and most of the day. I would most likley say that the meeting will be called off, if the rain does fall as it is looking to do. Also I can say what a misserable wet day for my 64th birthday roday. So it looks like 5/4 favorite for a rain off meeting. Could save the management face anyway, not sure how many fans would turn out to see a team full of guest riders. It has already started, think it is worse than last year, with all the teams using guest, at the back end of the seson, but we have only just started.
  17. I personaly have great faith in Phil Morris, he is up for this job, or he would not have been given it in the first place. The whole fiasco boils down to more that Phil Morris being the issue, I think this has been coming to a head for quite some time and this was the straw that broke the camels back, so to speak.
  18. What have we got a Lions team of 4 of the teams own riders 1 of those dosn't even look like he can be bothered to start his bike up let alone go out and win a race, so it is either rider replacements, which will be a hard task to do or another couple of guests, this is terrible and no way to be going about getting off the bottom of the league, it is looking so much like a repeat from last year.
  19. From the way the track started to break up they must have sorsed the 79 lorry loads of shale from the bottom of someones gardenr a few bob on the side.
  20. It just goes to show what a sad state of affairs our sport is in this country, when it is hard evn trying to get together a team of 4 half decent riders,
  21. Then we just have to sit back and wait to see if they have got their act in gear, and even thought about appying.
  22. If a sub-contractor has failed to deliver the proper goods then it the responsibility of the main contractor. They know who they are using and if they do the job right in the first place, but they still seem to be using these cowboys, who more than not are some small time motorway maintainance team, or a bunch of dicky trarmacers. This is the top level of the sport and as such it should be treared as such. After all this is the world championships, not a meeting at MDL level, with riders with skills far below the GP riders. So it is time for all who put on the GP series to treat it in a manner that will show the sport as a top world class championship, not the trash they do at times give the speedway paying public at large. If it carries on in this manner for much longer, not only will they be losing a lot of paying fans, but also the companies that show the sport on TV. Because they will soon come to their senses that what they are showing is just a second rate act at staging what should be a major sports meeting.
  23. It was quite comical last Monday on Sky sport when, Nigel Pearson brought up about the Gp at Warsaw and Kelvin Tatum replied. " I would rather not go into that " That was the end of the issue and Nigel Pearson, just stood there gapping like a fish out of water. So I think that all parties where told not to mention what happened on the night. I am sure it will all come out in the wash though, in the end, because if nothing is done about the whole farse then it just proves that money talks.
  24. Doe's anyone know if Darcy has mange to get a visa to race in the UK this year. They have had plenty of time to sort it out, but will they have just forgotten and overlooked the fact, also will they issue him with one this year. From the quite spell we have had from all concernmed parties, I am sure that someone must have put a cork in the bottle so to speak, as it has gone vgery quite on all fronts. From all members of his following mentors. Just hope he sits back and looks who actually tells him what to do and looks after his interests because so far no of them have made a very good job of keeping him on the straight and narrow. So here to a new look Darcy Ward, one that is pure as the driven snow ans super squeeky clean. We can live in hope and see him go on to far better things than he has been giving us in the past, his riding is great to watch, but is off track antics leaves a great deal to be desired.
