Alden is retired as far as I'm aware Stevie Worrall rode well last year for the best team in the league at a track with the biggest home advantage in the league and these days scoring points at reserve in the EL means very little considering the standard of the other reserves imo I can see Stevie Worrall losing roughly a point on his average One good season in about 4 in the PL he wouldn't be anywhere near my team.
-
Marek Mroz?
-
I'd rather have them than Worrall One swallow doesn't make a summer in his case.
-
Rusty Harrison and Theo Pijper are possibilities.
-
If that was the team I'd look forward to many a mauling.
-
I think Ben would be a good addition at reserve and Andre would be a solid second string that could really be an asset off the track to help a guy like Jake Allen find his feet in this league.
-
Now that Sheffields complete Andre Compton or Ben Wilson anyone?
-
He might have tried and all these past Brits have failed on the continent Kennett, King and the like so why would a team on the continent take a risk on him considering that bringing in a Brit has rarely worked in the past I'm not a massive Cookie fan but I can understand why he is back in the PL and I can understand why people are frustrated that he isn't riding on the continent but I would say it's probably more down to teams not wanting to take a risk on him rather than him not trying.
-
Can't blame Cook for going back to Edinburgh He seems to be another one of the King, Barker and Stead type that will be a very good PL rider and a decent EL rider It would be nice to see our Brits get a chance on the continent to improve themselves but you can't really blame any of the teams for not giving them a chance Brits on the whole seem to struggle on the continent bar a few and considering how good the young Poles, Danes and Swedes are I can understand why they don't get team places.
-
This promotion has put together one good team since they took over from PW yes we have had our fair share of injuries and that since then but to say they normally put together a decent team is stretching it a bit We've signed Ben Barker yes but it's the riders you put around him that make the difference in the season his average won't change massively but you need to sign riders down the order that can up there's and make you competitive I can understand the negativity we have signed 2 riders to back him up one in TJ that I can't see making his average and one in Allen that will take time to bed in to this league and when you look at some of the other teams out there and what riders are left we will be toiling imo.
-
Edinburgh can afford to have a struggling rider as they did with Aaron Fox last season as they always have such a strong team built around them Berwick won't have that luxury imo.
-
Mr Fricke is a bit special looking at Allens results he's ok I can't see him ever being a Max Fricke though.
-
By which time a lot of the riders left will be gone I look forward to battling Rye House and Scunny for the wooden spoon this year.
-
Robin may make some baffling posts at times I do agree but he has some valid points as well The signing of TJ does leave me with a few questions personally.
-
Over the years we have made some baffling signings Robin has got a point William Lawson springs to mind.
-
Absolutely spot on You only have to look at some of the recent riders to come across as you say a good example is Kasper Lykke and see that we are just getting sub standard riders and I don't think it's worth wasting a season for It is only worth bringing in a guy like this if you are in a situation like Glasgow were last year where there season was over so giving Pavlova a shot was worth it to get him on a true average this year It would be a very stupid move imo to pass up an opportunity to sign someone like Doolan to bring in an assessed rider.
-
I would rather have Doolan than a new asset purely because he is reliable and we already have one new asset to bed in and a lot of new riders that come in to this league are poor and struggle to ever live up to there original assessed average there have been a few exceptions but if you look at the big picture they are few and far between.
-
Of course On a side note do you think Jorgensen will up his average?
-
I agree he is never going to be Kings Lynn Kevin Doolan but not many riders in this league are as good as Kings Lynn Kevin Doolan He is better than 6.91 he could be up between 7.5 and 8 as he proved at the back end of last season he's still got it and riding at number 3 as Robin said will make a massive difference He did beat Cookie twice round Armadale last season not many people can say they've done that.
-
Doolan will.
-
Maybe though this is an area where a few people can approach the supporters club or the promotion with a few ideas to get everyone together and try and raise a few quid in the process and try to club together and build a good working relationship between all involved with the best interests of the club at heart.

Couldn't agree more the one problem speedway has and always will do is it just isn't a big enough sport in this country I am lucky my parents took me to speedway from a young age and it's always been something I have had a passion for A lot of people I know that don't come to speedway it is because they don't understand it properly and I don't know how many times people have said to me well it's just four bikes going round in a circle whats exciting about that It is quite hard in this climate to get someone to spend £15 on something there not completely interested in and I see how it must be frustrating for promoters all around the country but something has to be done if the sport is to be sustainable not only in Berwick but across the country.
-
If it all goes well I could end up being a professional events planner Seriously though if this could be done I would be happy to get together with some other fans and try and do something to bring the fans together and to try and bring speedway to a wider audience in Berwick.
-
I went up about half a dozen times last year, maybe more and the crowd was roughly the same every time and it wasn't the biggest the only exception being the play off final.

I agree the general promotion is good but just a point I notice Edinburgh have already had one off season fans event '2014 Season Review' and they have another one 'Video Night' planned I can't remember the date but I always think its good to try and do something like this during the off season to keep fans involved one way or another and I'd like to see more of these It's also another way of getting a few more quid in every little helps as they say Also Edinburgh are doing an online survey to try and improve there race night experience which I think is an excellent idea I have to take my hat off to the Edinburgh promotion they work wonders on the track and they seem to do an excellent job keeping fans involved and happy and I think this is something we should be aspiring to do ourselves.
