  1. I would quite happily take Anders as if he can get back to full fitness he is a class act on his day and yeah Pontus had a great season but I think he can keep that average up I would've taken him over Matej.
  2. There's some cracking riders out there who still don't have clubs if the promotion have any sense they'll steer clear of Tero Aarnio, Stevie Worrall and the like and look and riders like Anders Mellgren, Pontus Aspregen and see where we go from there.
  3. I'd rather win the league cup than nothing at all plus two meetings against Edinburgh they mean something to the fans. I enjoy good racing but if that's all I wanted to see I would be going to Sheffield or Somerset not Berwick where at times you see more racing in the car park, it's quick and its a very well prepared surface but it can be gate and go at times just due to the shape I go to Berwick to support them and I want to see them win home and away not just to have a fun night out and see some good racing whether it's a good meeting or not I will go home disappointed if Berwick get beat There's plenty of riders out there who are good Premier League riders that do have the potential to up there average no I don't want to see Rusty Harrison or Theo Pijper either but someone like Anders Mellgren I would like to see Having one new assessed rider is a very good move and I'm happy with the Jake Allen signing but lets build around him and try and be competitive from the get go and build on last seasons success.
  4. We better get the dark deep stuff out again if we sign Richard Hall might as well sign Jason Bunyan while were at it.
  5. A weak 12 meetings would be enough to put some off coming and spending there cash at the speedway There's plenty of good riders still out there ok they may be on loan but getting an 7 point assessed rider isn't exactly a cheap or easy option either I think we should just stick with Allen and build around him with riders who have experience in this country and at this level.
  6. I agree Alex isn't any better than him but he was in the team at the back end of last season and did a decent job so why change to Barrett this year it would just be an unnecessary change to probably get the same kind of outcome scores and average wise.
  7. We need to build a winning team and those names would be reasonably far down my list to achieve that Barrett did look improved when I saw him last season but he still isn't a lead reserve imo Bellego needs a year away from Berwick he was getting stale and most of the time last year the quickest lap he did was his warm down lap.
  8. I imagined he would be I didn't know it had been confirmed though.
  9. If Sheffield finish with Proctor and Poole which most people seem to think it would leave Andre Compton without a team on a 5.59 he would probably do a decent job despite his age don't know what his plans are though If Jack Holder comes in on a 7 instead of a 5 Somerset may have to let go of Charles Wright on a 6.64 anybody think he'd be worth taking a punt on?
  10. I can't really blame them for not doing it if it was my money I wouldn't be hanging my hat on two assessed riders the odds aren't stacked in your favour I'd say based on a lot of the assessed riders that have came in to the league over the past few years.
  11. Speedway Promoter was so much fun With a bit of updating and a bit more in depth everyone would be happy.
  12. Yeah always respected PW for his management style managed to put a competitive team out most years and he brought some gems in to this league Seemed to know the rule book inside out as well.
  13. Yeah quality at home and can be a difference maker I'm a big fan of Doolan but I'd be comfortable with either of them over Kus It'll be interesting to see if we change the way we build the team now that we've missed out on Kus
  14. Let us down in the big races a lot imo, he was better a 5 no doubt about that but only rode a handful of away meetings at 5 I think which is where I think the problem lies.
  15. I would say probably because he averaged 9 at home and 5.68 away from home I wouldn't have wanted him back personally I wouldn't take Allen on a 7 I'm all for new assets but that's one big gamble I would love to see Pepe back on that average he would be an excellent second string but his longtrack commitments may prevent us having him back
  16. I would say this could work in our favour losing Kus with the chances of Allen coming in on a 7 point average getting higher and higher if we added Kus in to the mix we would look seriously weak at the bottom end. Lots of issues to be ironed out I wouldn't be signing anyone until Allens average is sorted out.
  17. Makes very little difference still averaged more last season at reserve
  18. I have actually just worked it out Including guest bookings I worked out that in the main body TJ averaged 6.62 At reserve he averaged 7.17 I used the stats from www.speedway-stats.co.uk
  19. A lot of his good performances came at reserves, he's awful at Berwick and I don't see him upping his average Yes he is talented and yes he could end up doing really well for us but due to the reasons above I think it's a gamble.
  20. What about Doolan, Alex and Adam Roynon leaves us with 5.98 to play with It gives us a strong reserve in Roynon although he is very injury prone which would have to be considered I would say Pepe for the last spot but with his Longtrack commitments I don't see that happening Thoughts?
  21. Matej has always had the potential to do it and he did look superb last season I just think it's a big gamble and I already feel that Jorgensen is a big enough gamble For me it would be Kev but that's just my opinion he gives us more to play with average wise and he was Mr Reliable at the tail end of the season I think they will both be back though but based on the strength of some other teams that does make me think we may be toiling for another play off run.
  22. Kevs a better rider than 6.91 could see him going up to a 7.5 if he picks up where he left off its a big if though 2011 he averaged - 7.39 2012 - 7.36 2013 - 6.19 2014 - 7.52 He has been on this level for a while now its unlikely he will up his average up imo.
  23. You need a strong reserve no matter whether you have a big hitting number one or not Edinburgh are proof of this year in year out We had an excellent year last year with a very average 1-5 due to having one strong reserve the wheels came of when both Kus and Jensen were in the main body and Matty wasn't 100% as proved by our home defeat to Edinburgh in the play offs with Sam Simota at reserve Edberg would be a good signing although I don't see him as a lead reserve that will get double figures I would rather see Doolan signed than Kus can't see Kus upping that average and on late season form Doolan looked back to somewhere near his best and has more scope to raise his average I think but I think they'll probably both be back.
  24. It might be cheap but Robbo would walk in to any team I was putting together and Skidmore is capable of scoring big points on his day I'd be pretty happy if we had signed them Robbo especially.
  25. Four or five years ago maybe I would have him back though as the third heat leader in the number 3 spot he showed us he's still got it at the back end of last season.
