Edinburgh V Berwick 14/4/17 Sgbc
Hamster00 replied to allthegearbutnaeidea's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The team has no backbone our heat leaders are sub par compared to the rest of the league as are our second strings Bridger looks quick when he gets going but he can't make a start for one reason or another The only positive is Gappmaier but as soon as the averages change and he is pushed in to the main body of the team I think he will find it more of a struggle. -

How bad is the lighting at Armadale these days it's pitch black I'm standing on the third bend and I can barely see the first and second bend No excuse for how bad Berwick have been but the track is awful. -
Can't understand where you get glory hunters from when all of the folk who are wanting Berwick to do well and win on here and are requesting changes are some of the best fans I know of and have supported the team through thick and thin and home and away and I imagine a lot of them will be at all three meetings this weekend.

Like all sport it is a results based business and if we were all glory hunters like you say we would go and support Edinburgh I enjoy an entertaining meeting as much as the next person but I support Berwick and that means I want them to win and when they don't and are as poor as they have been so far this season then like most Berwick fans I am disappointed and as someone mentioned it won't take long for fans to get fed up with an underperforming team and find something better to do on a Saturday Night You are one of the very few speedway fans I have spoke to that doesn't seem to be particularly bothered about how good or bad the team you follow is doing Glasgow to win 48-42.

Newcastle V Berwick (sgbc) 09/04/2017

After watching yet another abysmal Bandits performance, there can be no arguments against the fact that we need to make team changes. Carr and Berge have to be top of the list of casualties, and I would also be tempted to get shot of Doolan too, albeit unlikely with his testimonial coming up. -

If things don't change this weekend then changes are going to have to be imminent as we are starting to get in to the thick of the league meetings and so far we look comfortably the worst team in the league With the exception of the two reserves nobody in the top 5 have shown anything other than occasional glimpses of good form and I know Vissing has been good at home but that's about it Our trips to Newcastle, Ipswich and Sheffield were embarrassing and I'm guessing Newcastle will put close to 60 if not more past us on Sunday I know I'm going to get plenty of people coming back at me saying it's too early in the season but take a look at every other team in the league and we are well off the pace and if things continue I could see us taking a few pastings at home and now that the league is smaller there's more riders desperate for a team place so if things don't change I think the promotion need to be a lot more proactive in changing things about than the previous promotion. -

If the team does how the 'wow' factor which Havvy claims it does then Gappmier has to be left out. -

That is what I understood it to be. Regardless of that I wouldn't have Gappmaer over Perry and I wouldn't have Garcia at all. -

I still wouldn't bother. Tom Perry was much more entertaining and looks like the better rider to me. -

His actual average last season was 3.75 and it clearly states on the final BSPA averages he will come in on a 5. Why sign someone on a false average that they couldn't ride to last season and if anything he got worse over time, the same applies to Garcia. -

I trust Havvy will get the last two signings right. Personally would avoid going with two 5 pointers and opt for ideally Perry and a 7 pointer. -

Carrying four reserves that's got to be a basement team. -

I've seen enough of Bellego around Berwick as well. I'd much rather see a fresh face than him. He was too inconsistent in his time at Berwick and despite a good run last season I wouldn't have him anywhere near my team on his average. -

I'd be disappointed if they went with Bellego and Aarnio. I'd rather have Newman/Busk Jakobsen and Brady Kurtz or something similar. Aarnio seems to be on quite an inflated average coming off an injury. -

Bridger could go either way for me, he showed a lot of promise a few years ago but has since taken a year out and been a very average at best EL rider it's a boom or bust kind of signing. We need to make sure we get the next four right. I'd like to see Perry next. Surely now with Carr back on board on the average he is they can't sign Gappmaer on an inflated average. -

I'd rather see Berwick move on and try a new rider like Garrity or someone similar at Shielfield than see Kus or Bellego back and I wouldn't be keen on taking Gappmaer on a five either, he tailed off after a good start for me and looked slower each week. What about Josh Bates on a 5.02? -

Liam will struggle to maintain that average in the main body of the team. -

Kenneth Bjerre 8.22 Liam Carr 4.81 Kevin Doolan 6.99 Kyle Newman 6.31 Brady Kurtz 7.65 Tom Perry 3.76 NL 2 pointer 39.74 Take note Havvy 😍 -
So do I but his track record tells me he probably won't.

Unfortunately Alden will never have the necessary consistency. Always has been and always will be inconsistent.
-
He has a fairly solid 1-5 of third string heat leaders and second strings.

Berwick Versus Sheffield: 14th May, 7pm
Hamster00 replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Couldn't agree more. With regards to Seb though he always has been and always will be an inconsistent performer and go from brilliant to average to poor in the space of three rides and we knew this coming in to the season. -

I fancy Sheffield will turn us over. Looking at the scores Simon Stead looks to be back to his best and they will probably have the beating of us in the big heats. Everyone needs to be flying to win this and we can't carry anyone like we have been so far this season. -
Plenty to answer to so might as well get on it didn't think I'd get this many peoples goats up. Totally agree Scotts work with the new promotion off the track as you point out like track covers and the training track has been fantastic and to Scotts post there's no hidden agenda Scotts a lovely guy and seems very passionate about the club. My personal opinion is he is struggling with the Team Management aspect of things so far as someone pointed out previously riders of Screenys calibre haven't been able to cut it as Team Managers and being a former rider doesn't automatically make you a brilliant Team Manager as some on here seem to think. We've had a lot of underwhelming seasons in the past where we haven't been able to cut it on track and have let riders get away with poor performances for far too long. We could easily head down that slippery slope now, I agree Newcastle are an excellent team but to lose at home to them and without Lambert and Kus was a bit worrying. I think Bager was a desperation signing rather than anything else as surely you guys can agree he doesn't suit Berwick. I want us to succeed as much as the next guy and we do have our financial constrictions I understand we are not Glasgow I'm just seriously frustrated with our constant mediocrity.
