  1. If those two win it back to back then I’d suggest it’s time to put that award on the shelf for a long long time.
  2. You couldn’t pay me enough to have to spend every Friday night with Cami Brown.
  3. A very typical Scunthorpe team of recent years I think, will be strong at home and weak away, looking to build big home leads to win bonus points and challenge for the playoffs. I see them as a team that will be challenging for the playoffs and will potentially make it based off of home form.
  4. Would be great for April, not sure what we’d do for the rest of the year when he inevitably goes missing on track or doesn’t turn up at all or whatever other excuse in the book he comes up with. I could absolutely see him being the choice but he will never be my flavour of the month unfortunately.
  5. I’m certainly not saying it would be a signing I would ever choose, just merely looking at the landscape of who’s available and taking a wild guess.
  6. That’s the word on the rumour mill, no way we will be able to replace a rider of Schleins quality at this stage. Wooden spoon chasing again potentially?
  7. Given that Palovaara has been given an assessed 5.00 as he hasn’t ridden in this country for a number of years, that may mean Kim Nilsson would be assessed too and based on his Polish league standing these days I believe he’d come in on a 6.50. Would be a shrewd bit of business by Edinburgh to get both of them on assessed averages. 1) Sedgy 2) VP 3) MPT 4) Paco 5) Nilsson 6) Lasse 7) James
  8. You know it’s an art form to finish bottom every year, I’m looking forward to another season battling for the wooden spoon, we do have the almighty Border Trophy that being said.
  9. As much as it pains me to say this, if the rumoured lineups elsewhere are close to true I would fancy that Glasgow team as comfortable favourites to make the play offs and challenge for silverware.
  10. I get we both think he should move on I just don’t understand why his pre Berwick form and him not being a world beater as you say in 2016 is relevant to 2024 or 2025? That is the part that confuses me. Steve Worrall averaged 3.00 in 2013 and was dropped by both Newcastle and Redcar but it’s completely irrelevant now isn’t it? I would be moving on because he was poor in 2024 not because of the rider he was when he first arrived in this country.
  11. That was also 8 years ago, riders improve/decline over time, experience and age have a lot to do with it. Statistics from as long ago as that are absolutely meaningless imo, you could also pull up his stats from 2022 where he finished the season with a 6.29 average and say he’s great value at 4.98. It’s just cherry picking stats to suit your agenda, I absolutely agree it’s time to move on for both parties but it’s a very odd way to frame it using his pre Berwick stats from nearly a decade ago.
  12. The cost of someone scoring more points generally would be more expensive if you are paid per point?
  13. Don’t see either of them being at Berwick, Gilkes to Oxford and Pearson with his Polish commitments but I would have Pearson every day of the week, don’t rate Gilkes at all personally.
  14. I can see the final three being filled in either one of the two ways below: Vissing, Trigger (Or Equivalent), 2 Pointer Etheridge, Foord, Trigger (Or Equivalent)
  15. Surely @StevePark couldn’t make an error again? Maybe he shouldn’t be so quick to jump on Mr Barrie in future.
  16. I’m sure you’ve never held a grudge, maybe we should all be more like you.
  17. As much as it isn’t credible it makes sense on a sport that often seems to be on the precipice financially. My team (Berwick) have drawn Redcar so more than likely I will attend both legs as will many other Bandits fans and Redcar fans vice versa which helps both promotions. For once I actually think common sense is prevailing within our sport’s decision makers.
  18. Don’t put that kind of negative energy in to the atmosphere, I’d rather have 6 riders.
  19. Wouldn’t have Bastian back just given the nature of his injury seems a massive gamble, I understand the notion he could go elsewhere and be great but that was/is a horrific injury and I’d rather not be the team taking the risk. He did fantastic in his short spell for us but we need a 4/5 new riders from somewhere, if that’s possible is another question all together.
  20. Oh dear indeed Imagine if Mr Barrie made that mistake, the joy you would take.
  21. Edinburgh should do the weekend double here and I think quite comfortably as well.
  22. Can’t understand the hate for Dickson tonight on the meeting thread and on this one. Hagon was going better than Jye at that point of the meeting and was mixing it and I fancied he could’ve have beaten Worrall if Bomber hadn’t tried to send him in to the back straight fence on the second lap. Garrad had to take another ride as it seems to me his 2 minutes exclusion in Heat 8 doesn’t count so therefore had to take heat 14 at that point, Kemp then as seems to be the case, went missing in a big race leaving us the unlikely task of overhauling Bomber in Heat 15. Kemp and Kerr both made it too easy for Bomber to pass them in earlier races, I know he is almost impossible to stop when he’s charging but maybe don’t leave him the width of a bus to come round the outside of you on the last bend. Too many what ifs and maybes but I’ve seen a lot of people pinning the loss on the TM which baffles me when out of the 4 “Bandits” in the team only one really showed up, if it wasn’t for a couple of good guest bookings which I’ve no doubt Stewart had a massive part in sorting, we’d have been a mile off against a fairly underwhelming Glasgow side. Regardless of all that, the season is well and truly over and all we can do now is make a couple of changes and see how some riders stack up for next season.
