Sheffield have started their season with Tai already riding so would get the appropriate facility? So I’m not quite sure how that is the same as Plymouth losing a rider for the first portion of the season before it’s even started? I personally think a team starting a season with only 6 riders and say having to use an NDL guest to cover it completes strips away any ‘credibility’ the sport has. I feel the sport has spent a lot of time (Mainly Phil Morris) trying to restore some sort of credibility and excitement to British Speedway recently and I don’t think it’s good for the sport to put a club in a potentially untenable position moving forward. Promoting a speedway team and making it work in this day and age seems a tough gig at the best of times and the sport has often cut its nose off to spite its face in recent years, I feel this is potentially one of those times and I’d be really disappointed if Plymouth struggled financially or otherwise due to this.

Because I think it seems quite clear Plymouth have attempted to sign a variety of riders of which none have worked out for various reasons. I don’t think anyone either wants to see the club bankrupt themselves either signing a rider or because they are completely uncompetitive and fans dwindle away and never come back. Covattis injury is an unfortunate thing that is obviously not the clubs fault, I understand that the rules are the rules and it is not the authorities fault either but I feel in instances like this there should be some flexibility. I'm not a Plymouth fan either but I think it would be in the best interests of the sport to be flexible as surely a competitive and potentially profitable club is good for the sport no? Or would you rather see them go the way of so many clubs in recent years?

I really hope that is an attempt at satire.

As much as a lot of people criticise Dick and his centre green shenanigans, I guarantee you will miss him when he does hang up his microphone. I remember when he was missing for a season a handful of years ago and I certainly felt that the presentation on the evening was far poorer due to the lack of his presence.

Couldn’t have put it better myself.

I think you’re the clueless one mate.

I think most teams are kind of out there in a certain way but even compare it to Redcars completed team or the five confirmed by Poole so far and I think it looks poor in comparison.

Yes it does

Berwick Vs Glasgow 19/8/23

Couldn’t agree more, I’m a vocal critic plenty but I pay my money and continue to support the club regardless. If people want to go and support Glasgow that’s up to them but don’t come on here to cry about things at Berwick. -

Wish I could be a Tigers fan these days like Bandit59. -
Yeah I do agree, has always seemed to look better on away tracks than at home. It’s a shame that crash at Glasgow kind of derailed his season as he had started ok but since then has looked very very poor. Another one of the ‘what if’ signings in Berwicks history.

I wouldn’t say so, I think it was written on the wall a couple of weeks ago that Jonas wouldn’t be back this season for one reason or another. Our playoff chances disappeared on Saturday so why not give young Jacob a go, he was more than handy first time round and gives him a chance to put himself in the shop window for next season.

Fish Supper, I’ve heard it all now.

What does it matter, he’s paid his money and is voicing his opinion on the meeting/meetings he has seen, not sitting at home complaining about a bad team and a lack of entertainment when he’s not even been there. If you prefer to go to Glasgow that’s up to you but I don’t know why you constantly come on and moan about the cost/the product etc when every week you say you haven’t been? It’s completely at odds with each other. Like I say, try being part of the solution not the problem. We are all frustrated with the poor results but sitting at home in your armchair slanging your “supported” team off while not even going and instead going to watch Glasgow seems an odd one to me.

I’m not normally a fan of the use it or lose it argument but if you aren’t paying the entry fee week in week out and just choose to complain on the forum, what are you actually achieving? Pay your money and try to be part of the solution, not the problem.

Can’t see him being involved.

Bandits 40 - 50 Monarchs -
I think that would be good news, I can’t say I’m very optimistic of us beating a half baked Edinburgh side if it is on.

Steve Boxall if allowed

Anyone else having issues with the stream? -
Don’t understand the negativity around signing Boxall and yes I know the irony of me being positive for a change but it’s clear Boxall is trying to make a comeback and his scores on the IOW prove he’s still very capable. Perfectly sensible move bringing him in for a long term injured rider with a few meetings to go to see how he gets on with a view to next season for possible both the Bullets and Bandits? It certainly makes the Bullets meeting next week a lot more interesting for me and makes me much more likely to spend the money and hang around for it.

Birmingham v Berwick Wed 21st June CL
Hamster00 replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
He is one of them away from home, at home yes a no doubt heat leader but away from home he tends to perform more like a weak second string. As far as tonight goes he was just fine but he was a Birmingham rider just a few seasons ago in the NL so I suspect this will easily be his best away performance. -
At this point in his career he is basically a 2.00 rider himself.

A much needed win after last weeks debacle Slightly lucky in the sense that Scunthorpe signed a perennial scorer of zero at Berwick in Max Clegg earlier this week but it was good to see Jorgensen looking quicker than he has done in previous weeks Coles continues to work hard and Leon and Rory did enough to back him up Scunthorpe very much a four man team with Douglas very unlucky not to bag a maximum due to bike troubles Quite easily the most entertaining meeting of the season so far which certainly helped
