Somerset V Glasgow Play Off Semi
RebelDan replied to rustyre bel1's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Brady is top class and will be welcome back with open arms by 99.9% of Rebels fans next season - form is temporary and class permanent. Brady looks like he needs a good rest from racing and I am sure will come back even stronger next season and hopefully he is a rebel again! -
Somerset V Glasgow Play Off Semi

This will much closer than the league meeting I think, however the Rebels are in good form and Jensen at reserve could be a trump card. 10-12 point home win for me making the 2nd leg v interesting. -
Rebels V Monarchs 29/9/2015

The result flattered Edinburgh - Cook apart they were poor. Awful decision by the ref in heat 12 - Wright was in front, Riss should have shut off but went for a gap that wasn't there. The cup is the Monarchs to lose now- Cook was literally on a different planet - the most dominant performance I have seen at the OTA. -
Glasgow V Somerset Sunday 23rd August.

Great win for the boys, especially without Rasmus today. A great team effort but a special mention to Josh on his max today - great news as his had a horrible few weeks. Well done also to Mr Depenable Paul Starke - heat 14 was never in question today! Hope everyone is fit and well from both teams. -

His average is substantially higher this season to last. -

Very harsh on Lanham he has been excellent this season apart from the last few meetings, thank you Leigh. It has to be Rasmus as a replacement, he was very quick when guesting for us last season. I'd bring Pontus back as well if the management are set on changes. -

I 'll make sure to tell young Brady that next time I see him, it should be back to normal service next week - thanks -

I wouldn't say Kurtz is burnt out just an 18 year old still learning his trade having an off night, he couldn't make a start all night. Workington don't have Cook so unlikely -

The Rebels need a shake up to not only stay in a play off spot but also progress further, beaten very easily at home in 2 of the last 3 meetings which is a worrying sign. I can see Ipswich doing the same thing next Tuedsay on current form. Fair play to the Monarchs- convincing winners. -

I think this could be quite tight over the two legs and the Devils surprise a few- hope I'm wrong Narrow win tonight for the Rebels -
Somerset V Rye House 5/6/2015
RebelDan replied to rustyre bel1's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Just fantastic entertainment last night by 2 fully committed teams, hats of to both. For the Rockets- Jakobsen showed again he is a class act and Aspegren his liking for the OTA.For the Rebels after another slow start they upped their game - Kurtz pulled off 2 ridiculous passes and Heat 13 was just jaw dropping. They should market that race at new supporters! -

All the best to Steady and the other injured riders - such a shame when this happens . His scores had been nothing short of sensational this year. -
Somerset Rebels V Ipswich Witches Pl 17-4-15
RebelDan replied to Super Blue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Decent meeting but for the 2nd week running the track was very patchy- even Brady mentioned it in an interview that it's been different every week. Certainly not up to the usual OTA standards this year so far. I thought Ipswich were great value tonight and probably deserved to win- looks a good season ahead for the Witches fans. As for the Rebels not much wrong with the top five but we are very suspect at reserve. Thanks to Josh Bates for guesting he certainly rode better than his 2 points suggest. -
Somerset Rebels V Ipswich Witches Pl 17-4-15
RebelDan replied to Super Blue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think this could be quite close and the Witches could well take a point. The Rebels look vulnerable at reserve without Starke. Compton is putting in plenty of effort but is just off the pace on the first bend- maybe tonight's his night. I could see the witches leading early on and the Rebels having a strong 2nd part to the meeting as per last week. King vs Kurtz should be great. -
What Are You Looking Forward To This Season?
RebelDan replied to Robinh88's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The smell of methanol and the sound of a roaring bike on a cold March evening. Nothing like it, bring it on!! -
I think the rebels have a very solid team and an excellent top four who could all up their starting average. I think Charles Wright is very under rated and will score heavily in the EL it will be interesting to see how he manages doubling up, because it can be to the detriment of a riders PL scores. Brady is a special talent and if he stays fit could be sensational this year. Starkey is solid, and let's hope Leigh has an injury free year, I am sure he will love life in the West Country very quickly. Can't wait until March, Edinburgh and Pboro look the strongest for me at this stage- but things can change very quickly! Best of luck to all riders for an injury free campaign.
-
I think the only logical choice is to unfortunately drop Holder or Worrall. I would be inclined to keep Richie as he has good Premier League experience. It would be tough on Holder on a 7 point average starting as third heat leader. I just hope there is no implications with Brady going EL.
-
Wow what a team hats off to the promotion who have done an incredible job. Good luck to Pontus, Todd, Olly and Nick next season
-
I would prefer Pontus and Rasmus Jensen to Howarth & Holder. Thought all new Aussies are on a 7 point average - announced at the AGM?
-
I think Charles will definently up his average. He is on an upward curve and fantastic around the OA. What might go against him is the fact that he will almost certainly double up next season in the EL. I'm sure at the AGM it was stated that new Aussies come in on a 7 point average. If correct I guess that rules out Jack Holder???
-
Nice team but we have to fit Charles in somewhere.
-
The point is that Kurtz hit a purple patch at home prior to getting injured - his four prior meetings yielding 15 (max) , Paid 13 twice and 12 from 4 rides in the Ipswich match prior to getting injured. His heat winning rides will be missed against a formidable Monarches heat leader trio. The other 6 rebels will need two fantastic meetings to stand any chance.
