Speedway’s issues with attracting new fans are nothing to do with this forum, in the grand scheme of things no one cares what is said on here because the number of users is so low. The idea that bickering and bitching is exclusive to this forum is also a bit daft, that’s generally how the internet functions – so no, the “it’s all the geeks fault” line won’t put a stop to people commenting on all the nonsense of the last few days…

I wouldn’t even claim to know the ins and outs re the actual rule book, I don’t have the hours in the day or interest to bother with it, most of it either goes over my head or I simply try and blank out. The general premise works – 4 laps, 4 riders I wouldn’t mind alterations to heat formats and personally I would like it to move to structure comparable to the PL in both leagues – 7 man teams, 15 heats with 1 reserve who can race in protected heats and can’t be replaced eg 2/4/8 with all other team members able to trade places based on averages. I also like the idea of the last 3 heats being nominated races I would be tempted to scrap THE points limit as it’s a bit of a nonsense now given there is generally quite a large disparity between teams any way, it feels like it creates more problems than it solves. I also feel like a removal of the idea that all can compete per se affords clubs the chance to both find their place and also develop to be better, the points limit breeds laziness IMO.

While I appreciate partly in jest…even a rough guestimate adding up total contributions over the numerous threads only comes to about 2,000 ish….about 800 of which will likely involve Starman bickering with people, so in reality there isn’t actually that many people care.

I have doubts re grounds for a retrospective punishment given the facility was already agreed too based on the situation at the time the replacement was made. Poole would surely claim grounds over whether or not Andersen should be riding given advice and info at that time. The thing with such changes is they probably are “within rules” but they are morally questionable and just create total apathy among a lot of people.

That’s quite an odd statement to make re most riders I feel, let alone Kyle Newman? I would take the point in relation to a lot of highly rated young riders having a predefined career destination eg Holder, Woffinden - guys who were touted as would be World Champions from an early age, even then if they hadn’t achieved that it wouldn’t have meant “failure” per se but neither here nor there……but Kyle Newman? I genuinely can’t think of any stage when Newman was touted as a star in the making, if anything I would say he has probably already surpassed the career expectations most had of him – he has put together a very decent, competent career as a speedway rider. Newman gets an undue amount of stick and career choice criticism on here IMO, some of it is quite bizarre - I don't know what sort of rider he was "supposed to be" or who set out this supposed destination for him?

If it does turn out to be Belle Vue v Poole, Poole’s season will have worked out well in terms of going to Belle Vue late in the season twice in meetings that weren’t definitive per se. This isn’t a “Matt Ford is a cynical genius” style post, but Poole have certainly had recent memory of Belle Vue, enough that they should now be dialled in for another visit – experience that would see the tie swing in their favour

No, nor would I claim to be, or have I claimed to be - but as with just about every other thread or post on this forum you can't simply shut your mouth and wind your oar in, your lack of awareness is staggering.

All the while actually still replying to and quoting the posts of the people they have previously abused – posts where people are trying to have genuine discussions but they then drag to the absolute pits of chatter – as shown on this thread again with petulant obtuseness from in particular Starman, hence my feeling I wanted to mock him back, an eye for an eye. I find the oft written narrative by some re Kurtz, that being - he hasn’t performed/needs moved on from Poole/needs time at a smaller track completely bonkers. It would be insanity on Pooles part to let him go next season irrespective of the league structure.

Poole will quite comfortably take care of Wolverhampton I think – Wolves bottom end will be found wanting.

No, funnily enough given I have consciously chosen to post on a Speedway forum I actually quite enjoy speedway. People trying to impose on others how crap speedway is probably irks me more than any rules and regulations. I would walk away from this forum before I walked away from the sport.
