  1. Give the side who tops the table a trophy you can make a case for a team who top the table after the 2nd, 3rd or 4th meeting of the season being given a medal. Somerset have been great but all they have done thus far is complete a part of the process, they are engaged in the league season, on their way to possibly winning the title, as far down the line as a side who under the old format led the table with 4 meetings to go. It is now on them to hold their bottle, nerve etc and see it through. Somerset like every other side in the country were aware of the process before the season starts and thus there is no “injustice” if they don’t become Champions.
  2. I appreciate people flat our refuse to believe in Play Offs etc, but do they have to constantly impose that nonsense on everyone else. The yearly “Congratulations team who finished top are Champions” thread is comparable to a 93 year old man laying out a carrot and milk for Santa Claus every year just because they are defiant and old school.
  3. Thought what Tatum said last night was quite telling - yes it is part of his job trying to get the product over etc but there will be a rider community appeal re racing for Belle Vue. You get a club that pays on time, is a good base and affords a short working week as such due to race night you have loads of upside, throw in what riders will see as a safe track that gives them the chance to race safely, there are plenty reasons why it would appeal to riders.
  4. Even as a fan I would find that a bit cheap if the side I support didn’t end the season as Champions, would probably be the medal riders let collect dust as well.
  5. Every Poole thread “Poole will win this meeting comfortably” thus setting a narrative that is then followed with “Poole should have won that” If they don’t win….its predictable crap.
  6. 10 years ago Hancock was 36 - Pedersen is currently 39 and languishing 9th in the World (not 3rd), I also don’t think Hancock can constantly be used as a reference point re riders career decisions given he is an anomaly rather than the norm. Pedersen is now comparable age to Rickardsson, Crump Adams when they decided to retire - all of whom both went out at a higher level than Pedersen has achieved this year. He (Nicki) just doesn’t strike me as the type to languish around the lower end of the series, like the above mentioned riders pride above all else dictates decisions and the reality is that they probably knew within themselves they didn’t have another World Title in them – I wouldn’t be shocked if Nicki was having those same doubts. As I said though, it is a hunch, little more than that.
  7. I think Nicki will retire in the winter, just a hunch – I don’t think he will play at it very long if he isn’t going to be competitive.
  8. Could email them? Could also advise them re the phone issue at the same time, probably got a better chance of getting an answer than from an unofficial forum.
  9. I pretty much agree with the above. It is fine the way it is, if it is tinkered with it will end up back to some botched format comparable to that from years ago with elimination heats after 2 races. The qualification process is tough but fair, it shouldn’t be easy to make the GP and it generally isn’t. The Wild Cards have for the most part had some form of logic or thought to them.
  10. It is past the point of coincidence how up each other’s arse post after post Gavan and chris are.
  11. Do you never stop for a second and think about the people who have to read this shi te and don't care a jot about it.
  12. You've got absolutely no credibility though and its pretty obvious there is no "source" of yours It's also completely wrong of you to try and pass of what someone concoiusly said as "messing" given you have no actual clue if it is or not, it can only be assessed as what the person said.
  13. No there is no “Darcygate” because the post was made from his account, you have then attempted to fabricate a scenario and attempt to question the credibility of others who say your scenario isn’t the case, that’s literally mental.
  14. That’s mental, there is no “Darcygate”
  15. The situation with Batchelor and more so Schlein is just really sad. I assume most want to see them do well in their career and return to, or even come close to the riders they once were but very few people actually want to watch the process happening, and that, unfortunate as the whole scenario is, is quite understandable. A season in the PL might do Schlein wonders and Batchelor possibly just needs a solid trouble free winter in Oz to repair but little blame should be placed at Lynn’s door re their handling of either IMO. It also has to be considered, in a somewhat selfish way just how damaging the injuries to both, and Ward have been to British Speedway, that’s 3 riders who, if racing to the theoretical standard they should be would really strengthen the EL.
  16. It was a post that was written and posted via his Facebook page, to suggest it was him hardly removes someone’s credibility….
  17. Did you even bother to look at the post......it was evidently posted from his profile.
  18. Would say something like that would entirely depend on when and what kind of agreement was in place. If it was an agreed split prior to an even that someone renegaded on after it based on what they scored, it is a dick move IMO, would apply that to a Rugby, Football player etc.
  19. Honestly, why are you still replying man, what is wrong with you? You have actively asked me to f off, accused me of being a troll etc, if you feel that way block me and run along, stop dragging threads to the gutter, it is weird, but since you continue to engage - I am happy to say this before I block you, because you are little more than a pest and an annoyance. You can’t string together coherent sentences, you don’t know the difference between know and no so stop making reference to others education, more so people you don’t even know, it is weird and it’s slightly embarrassing. Stop attempting to use that particular subject as a way to win debates, because honestly you are picking a hill you will always die on. That you feel the need to mock and ridicule peoples supposed employment situation and drag debates down to what you think they do for a living only further serves to highlight how uneducated YOU are not those you try and talk down to, it reflects terribly on YOU and YOUR personality not those you are attempting to mock or ridicule. “Ow you must work in McDonalds” or “you will be working till 70”….no, no actually - I likely won’t be doing either but then I am not insecure enough that I feel need to use such comments as a way of deflection. Anyone with 6 brain cells (so not you, since you are a fan of such comments) can see that you are an utter simpleton. This can be validated by your general conduct and demeanour on here - your frustration when people don’t agree with you or prove you to be talking nonsense, to petulant swearing and telling people to f off, engaging with people you have been abusive to and expecting them to “debate” with you, really though, how stupid are you? why would you expect people to engage in fair and honest debate when all evidence shows it is only going to head to the gutter, your conduct on here for the most part is completely deplorable, you are just too dense to realise that. All of this points to people who "will work till 70" or "work in McDonalds" standing on a far higher moral ground than you can ever wish for. As Louis Van Gaal said, when it comes to debate involving you, it isn’t even that others are so smart, it is simply that you are so stupid, don’t bother replying as I say I am blocking you because there is absolutely no point or any stimulus talking about any subject with you, let alone speedway.
  20. I don't think your ideas that good, nor do I get why it's positioned like a actual thing people have to decide on or not....
