1984 was a bad season for Exeter but strangely one of my favourite seasons We struggled to attract a real number 1 as nobody wanted to travel to Exeter so ended up talking Ivan Mauger out of retirement, unbelievably for home matches only and went for a guest in all away meetings Exeter switched from our regular Monday evenings to a Friday which was an unpopular move The falcons also kept Robert Maxfield Keith Millard, Andy Campbell (who had a fantastic season beating most of the league's top riders at the county ground) from our national league team We used so many different riders throughout the season, Sean Willmott,Frank Anderson, Michael Coles, Steve Bishop Louis Carr, Buddy Robinson, Leif Wahlman, Stefen Desser, Kevin Price, and that doesn't include any of the guests we used some of which were Gugliemi, Scwartz, Shirra, Moran, Ermelenko, Crump, Bargh, Petersen, Cox, Jolly, Kennett, Tatum, Davis, Smith and Bear Exeter finished 2nd bottom above Newcastle. Getting to watch the likes of Hans Nielsen riding the county ground was brilliant, even though we lost most weeks 1 season only, then back to national league and Monday nights

yeah your right they cant all get it right on the same day Nicki seems a shadow of his former self, Kildermand is hot or cold and Kołodziej is not as consistant as he was, on paper unbeatable, but on track, no better than the rest

can't believe Leszno are the favorites for this league thats the 2nd time they have been beaten easily, Emil is my favourite rider to watch but even he has been fairly poor so far this season

Thanks for the updates, why has the czestowchowa match been cancelled but Rybnik survives? I looked through the terenzano card and thought it was only Woryna, Fricke and Kaczmarek who were missing, any others? Thought Poland had large squads to cope with such problems, though Rybnik are the hardest hit, Woryna has been looking really good so far and wouldn't be surprised to se him go well in the under 21s

Why don't the polish have extraliga matches after a grand prix in Poland and all the riders are there, but they do have matches when the GP is elsewhere and the riders have to travel? Can't see the sense, I'm sure there is a legitimate reason

had planned to go and watch Danish speedway this year and had planned a trip around the Danish GP was planning to go to Hastlebro the day before the GP (23/06) but that fixture has now disappeared so I can only assume it was due to be against Munkebo yet the website is still showing some of their fixtures luckily I was in the stages of finalising it all but has ruined things a bit as I was going to see 2 matches and a GP now it may just be the GP as not sure I can justify going out on the Tuesday before only to see one match at Slangerup gutted

Exactly my thoughts too Why didn't they make it a decent meeting bringing back old favourites like Ayres, Shanes, Simon Lambert, Boxhall even Benji Compton Arron Baseby etc 8 sides, 10 heats - 2 semis and a final would have been great and I would have been there like a shot will stay at home instead

I've taken the same option and i'm more than happy so far do you know much about it Steve? is it legal? is it likely to disappear at the drop of a hat? I believe I read somewhere that they will also be showing Swedish , must be a cheaper option than premier sports but no british commentary, not looking good here for tonights meeting with the rain currently being shown

fans are still there which is a good sign but I have no idea if this meeting is on or off

Just coming back on now,it's going to clash with the Extraliga match now which is a shame
