  1. Its a shame, I should be able to go and not worry that if its rained off, you get your money back/re admission, but after last week, it's not something I'm going to risk even if its raining, you just know they'll get at least 2 races on then charge you a tenner or something equally daft
  2. Rain predicted between 6pm and 8pm, so I'm giving it a swerve after last week
  3. Like it, , Nigel Pearson is Alan Partridge I'll add, " thats a ding dong battle for second place"
  4. Well that's kind of the point I'm making, why should Kent charge £6 (50% of the admission fee), for only 3 races I say 3, because the 4th race was a farce, the riders couldn't even lean on the corners and stayed upright through fear of falling Fair play to them all for giving it a go, but they need to think about the fans who travelled there, and on top of that paid an additional 2 quid for a programme which was the original programme from June 9th with an insert. I'm a floating fan, I have no loyalty to Kent Kings, my team closed years ago, I will continue to watch speedway, but maybe not at Kent
  5. It was postponed because of rain, But it didn't actually rain, they had predicted it could rain so the fixture was called off at lunchtime, it then went on to be one of the nicest days of the year, and not a drop of the wet stuff
  6. Of course they don't, but they do have control over what they charge people who went last night, how can they justify charging 50% for 3 races and a farce of a 4th heat Fact is, the first heat should never have gone ahead, but they did it so they can charge fans
  7. Scandalous, that may just be the last they see of me and my kids One thing is for sure, I will never go again if rain is predicted
  8. started pouring at about 6-25, got the first 3 heats in but heat 4 was a farce and the correct decision made to abandon
  9. There are some really really knowledgeable posters on here, most in fact, who could probably answer any question you have about speedway There are also some posters (very few)who are absolutely spoiling for an arguement and will dismiss your opinions as absolute tosh because your post count Is low, Newbie on a forum doesn't mean newbie to the sport Long and short, I read this forum as a guest for years, some people would be put off by the abuse thats thrown about, that maybe whats preventing them registering. I know for fact the snide comments made would never be said to a persons face as most making the comments are weasles We all love the sport, but you get idiots in all walks of life
  10. Firstly, I don't always say anything, I have only posted a few times, I'm not particularly fond of his look, but, he is an individual and is entitled to do what he wants, You're right, I wouldn't be impressed if my children came home like that, but i'm assuming they will have job interviews and the like which Tai will never have to do I was a young child attending one of my first meetings when a rider was killed on the track, it's never left my mind, and I admire them all The toxic comment was referring to the board in general and other threads, not at anything you said, to be honest, i didn't bother reading the rest of your post
  11. I have great respect for Tai, as I have all speedway riders, they all put their lives on the line for our entertainment, unsure as to why the attitudes on here to certain riders are quite toxic, We all have our favourites, of course, But Tai should be a national hero for British speedway fans. I will be watching with my kids who also think he's fantastic
  12. Harris's scores this season 5 2 5+1 4 5+1 6+1 2 (abdn match) 2+1 4+1 3 1+1 1+1 4+2 Yes, you could say his scores dropped off, but would be a bit harsh, as they include away matches at Cradley and Mildenhall, just how quick should a 15 year old develop on a bike, he's just a kid, and riding regularly will help, not hinder him Hope we've not seen the last of Luke, would be a shame
  13. maybe some strategically placed banners attached to fences behind the supporters on the bends could be placed at tracks where it's a problem
  14. Completely agree, my kids have been in the pits at Lakeside and Kent, riders were brilliant with them, especially Peter Karlson and Ben Morley who had them on his bike for photos
  15. You may be closer than me,so I'm not disputing what your saying but I'm 15 minutes away, and we had no rain, not even a shower all day, in fact I would go as far as to say it was the nicest day of the year so far
  16. I find it incredible that they have called the meeting off on the basis that it could rain later They have been predicting heavy rain from Friday, yet all we have had is glorious sunshine except for a heavy shower saturday morning It may turn out to be the right decision, but they got the Wimbledon match on with far worse
  17. http://www.dudleyheathens.co/news.php?extend.1030 Interesting club statement today suggesting they will move up should they regain the national league title
  18. Hi all, my first post, I grew up watching Exeter in late 70s through to the mid 90s when I moved away from the area Now living in Kent, I have started to follow the kings Great effort from all involved yesterday, and great to see a proper speedway team like wimbledon back on the track Not seen much live speedway over the last 10 years, but I have introduced my 2 young kids to it and they love it, and I have definitely got the bug back Ben Morley looked class, as did boxhall, apart from his first heat engine failure, going to take me a while to remember all these young riders again, I've kept in touch with the SGP, but have now returned to watching the national league speedway I so fondly remember watching growing up Am I right in thinking James Cockle is also without a club?, thought he looked decent yesterday
