Birmingham Brummies 2019

Who values the riders out of interest? Do you know what the lowest financial bracket is? -
Leicester are no slouches in those heats either.

Sausage fingers!!

Spot on. Got lazy and used the 2019 signings thread rather than the actual greensheets....probably islander getting his own back because i was mean about the Warriors side
-
Very good signing, starts at number 1 but forms a very good trio of heat leaders. Last signings are a bit of a mystery? I feel Luke Harris is bound to be in the side and is good value on his average but that would leave 4.96 for the final 2 riders? Embleton and Dicken are both 2.33?
-
Thats alright then, he must know he won't be turning up often and they will benefit from extra RR points.

Sheffield Leicester Redcar Somerset -
Strong finish, 6 out of 7 ticks for me and certainly a top 4 side.

Buxton - epitomy of NL racing?
Sings4Speedway replied to SPEEDY69's topic in National League Speedway
Quite likely. Just an example side of riders who want to ride in the NL and should be prepared to take £20 a point for the benefit of doing so plus would be a competitive side. -
Buxton - epitomy of NL racing?

Certainly would be good if the answer was yes. Also there must be 7 riders who would jump at the chance at riding for Buxton this year (for not silly points money) rather than sitting on the sidelines. Silly Season but Smith 8.41, Armstrong 7.69, Wooley 6.69, Halder 4.63, Embleton 2.88, Macdonald 2.72, Dicken 2.33 = 35.35 all northern, all got no current (declared) team places..... -

I don't think the Buxton promotion would need a penny to run the 2010 season again. Just a time machine and our best wishes. -
Birmingham Brummies 2019

Certainly quick enough, only question marks ive heard are regarding his control as has a bit of a reputation from the Longtrack scene of wiping riders out BUT that is only what ive been told and not seen first hand. -
IMO the reason why the GP's provide better racing consistently than any league is because you have the closest matched riders in ability competing against each other. If teams were made up of riders starting on 3-5 point averages the racing would be more entertaining, all leagues are blighted with 2/3 point riders at one end and 9/10 at the other, then wonder why close exciting racing isn't regularly served up.
-
Certainly don't debate that he could do a job and knows his way around the track but with on 3 NL clubs that could accommodate him and in reality 1 space at each club so needs one of 3 spots available. Assuming his injury from last year has healed up (which it should have done).

Hopwood is yet to land a NL place and very limited options left for him, may be an issue if signed as would be more race rusty than other reserves.

The problem with the final signing is there is a huge difference between should be, could be and most likely will be. To maximise the points usage Theo Pijper, to maximise crowd support James Shanes but i suspect asset base building will continue being the driving force so Michael Hartel, Jonas Jeppesen or similar new assessed rider will take the final place. -

More a wall of silence -
However Jenkins is a good signing for Kent and there is still room for improvement on that average plus he rides the track well. The next two will determine whether the Kings will be serious contenders or a serious missed opportunity.
-
Problem is where can you find a 9+ number one who hasn't achieved 4+ in the 2nd tier? The plan has / was always to start with Ledwith at reserve alongside Gilkes, unless the team can be built so that one or other is there all season the potency will be lost.
-
Well thats a clever way to sneak the Dugard signing in. Hume is a huge capture and gives yet another top notch top two. In Dugard you have a rider heading straight to reserve when he can be bothered to turn up.

Just be grateful the initial post didn't say anchorite monk..... -
fortunately not otherwise i would be (more) skint. I stick to "playing" Speedway promoter/manager/armchair "expert"

Blimey want to really make sure the Warriors finish off the bottom...my gambling is worse than my predictions. Should IOW not finish bottom of the league 2019 season i will pay for 1 my first skid session for the child of your choice and hopefully play my part in creating a Warrior of the future who will keep the side off the bottom.
-
Fingers crossed my terrible predictions continue and actually hoping im wrong once again but personally can't see any team keeping the Warriors off the bottom at the moment.
-
There is no arguing that geographically IOW is a hard place to build competitive teams and Buxton, Plymouth etc have found similar issues in the past however there will always be riders who are dedicated enough to make the long journeys to race for good clubs like Shaun Tedham did last year rather than those who feel they are entitled to places like Tyler Govier or Matt Saul (#wheres_Sauly). The fact that the major ethos is sustainability is the correct move for the club and the league as a whole. I hope the Warriors have a successful year on track as i know also that even teams help strong crowds and likewise create good entertainment on the night which is another Island ethos.
