Cradley V Eastbourne Tpnl Ko Cup Semi Final
Sings4Speedway replied to Ommer Mon's topic in National League Speedway
Id have my 50p he is anywhere but Mildenhall next season. It appears he is well managed and will be very much sought after in 2017. -

Very valid point although the rider costs/wages would be dramatically lower but i do accept that there are a lot of other costs involved. Surely a smaller profit & some speedway is better than neither of each? -

Given the current situation with unearthing number 7's it might have made sense to run an individual national league meeting on a blank week? Invite those who are under consideration and see how they fared around the foxhole? Lower costs, lower admission but still some entertainment? -
British Under 19 Championship

Hate it when actual riding lists aren't declared in advance when its obvious that riders won't be there but clubs still advertise them in the line ups right until the last second. Congratulations to all who competed. Surprised to see Jack Smith included as he was withdrawn on Monday following a head injury which i thought invoked the concussion ruling? -
Exactly & any teams with a level of sense will have one or both reserves signed up for next season already.
-
I would like to think that was the case but have no idea if it is correct for certain. Personally i would like to see at least 3 of the RR rides taken by a number 8 each time so that riders are given the valuable experience they require.
-
You have to remember that its not just the teams but the riders also that want to avoid a potentially inflated average. Given the current rolling averages it could be very easy for a rookie to complete 4-5 meetings against struggling opposition and score strongly in each. The rookie would then shoot up to a 6-7 point average and make themselves virtually un-signable for the upcoming season and effectively end their speedway career. The system is floored no doubt about that. With RR It would be nice if other riders were used/given the chances to prove themselves, Maybe these free agents / number 8's shouldn't be able to achieve an average?

"Eryk Borczuch back on the 13 May, when he blitzed King’s Lynn with a 9-point maximum, winning all three races by a country mile, yet strangely he’s never been used since!!" I believe this is because he still does not hold a UK passport so was/is ineligible to ride and his points were subsequently removed from the result.

Superb performance from the Brummies last night who ran out worthy winners on both the night and overall. Big lessons in gating were dished out by the visitors and its hard to single out any rider for exceptional praise as Perks, Hume, Bacon, JPB & Perry were all brilliant although i would just give the Captain the nod being his best performance at Central Park and showing some excellent team riding skills. Smith was unfortunate to over ride and end his night early although i still feel the weak link in the team is Ritchings. For the home side the only real opposition came from Bowen. Ayres & Shanes put in plenty of effort but were generally bettered. Verge, Thomas & Clifton were shown the gulf in level last night and Mason (who couldn't be bothered with the away leg) looked largely disinterested last night. All in all the Brummies performance made my visit worth the entry money and although a much improved Kent side this year theres still much to do to catch the leaders and i fear that next season normal service will be resumed. And as an extra point i was yet again dissappointed that the Kent side were not sent out to congratulate the winners on the centre green.

Mildenhall Vs Eastbourne 4th September
Sings4Speedway replied to Speedway28's topic in National League Speedway
Im certainly not going to state that Central Park is perfect because it certainly isnt although there is quite a lot more dirt down this season but most of all it is becoming consistent. The issue at Mildenhall is that they have to contend with Stock cars and then try and prepare a grippy track which generally results in a patchy surface. If riders don't get a surface they trust then how can they be expected to race side by side and provide the entertainment we desire. The list of injuries occurred at West Row this season must be the highest in the NL and matched by those lucky to walk away. -
Think you are right. Eastbourne at home on a good day can cause a lot of damage so i would think Brum will go for Belle Vue/Cradley. A lot will swing on who Birmingham get as guest at number 1? Davey or Wilson look most likely although if the Colts don't make the play offs they can have Bewley!

Kent V Cradley 05/09/2016 6.30pm
Sings4Speedway replied to DragonsDen's topic in National League Speedway
Yeah im very disappointed with this line up but keeping fingers crossed a few have a good night to keep it interesting. Few riders not that popular at Kent might add some interest? Morris riding for Wolverhampton i assume but where is Clegg? -

No mention of Morley on the Kent site? Cradley Bradley Andrews, Richard Andrews, Ben Basford, Luke Chessell, Nathan Greaves, Luke Harris, Rider Replacement for James Purchase Hope he is there though as i see little resistance from a Cradley side without their top 2. -
Mildenhall Vs Eastbourne 4th September
Sings4Speedway replied to Speedway28's topic in National League Speedway
Given up on making trips to Mildenhall this season. Inconsistent tracks, drawn out meetings & far to many injuries occurring there. If Halsey who is in top form at present fell three times on home soil there must have been something wrong. I will be chuckling a plenty when Jenkins signs elsewhere over the winter after being left out to keep his average down -
Danyon is definitely one of this seasons big hits & Brum have plenty of them. Below is a list of riders who regularly rode in the MDL over the previous 2 seasons. Name Start Ave Current Ave Hume 3.79 7.05 Bacon 4.42 7.83 JPB 3.00 6.71 Thomas 3.00 5.73 Halder 3.00 4.24 Kinsley 5.13 6.56 Bailey 6.02 8.48 Totals 28.36 40.04 As a side note 40.04 is a higher team average than Buxton, Cov, IOW, Rye & Stoke (yes most of the biggest improvers always come at reserve / 2nd string but all of the above have been mixing it / beating heat leaders this season) Just goes to prove that the riders are out there if they are given a decent chance and British speedway isn't in such a bad way!

Quite right that it should have been picked up sooner by both the club/manager & the scb however its very petty for teams to object. What was Goviers average going to be in September? There are some shocking holes in the club statement but thats another story......

Bomber 6 Year Silencer Trouble
Sings4Speedway replied to dazzafl's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I think the article just proves a very naive approach. The change of almost anything on a speedway bike requires an amendment to setup. Different engines have different characteristics, carburetors the same and exhausts would be no different. Its been apparent to many for years that the issues Bomber has been facing are setup related but it has taken 6+ years for the man himself to realise. He doesn't need to change his riding style but he does need to experiment and find a solution to his current situation, sadly though that may take a large amount of expense which may not be available to him? -

If you get the chance its worth viewing from a different perspective. Certainly gives a different appreciation of speed, the minor tweaks and twitches of each rider that is often missed from the outside and of course the riders eyes as wide as saucers. -
Impressed with Tom Brennan last night. No points but good style and not far off the pace. There will be plenty of better days to come for him & plenty of time to achieve them.
-
I fully understand the point of reducing tuning costs, engine changes etc but i think its a backward action. Surely the simplest answer is pay the riders less? Even if EL riders average £200 per point is that much required? What about a cut to £150 for example? If a rider has less disposable income they have 2 options, either locate more outside sponsorship off their own back or most likely use cheaper tuners, less expensive parts etc. There will of course be some fall out with riders stating "im not riding for less than £XXX" but there will be plenty of riders who will. There will also be plenty of the initially opposed riders picking up the phone and asking for places in January when they haven't been signed anywhere. I reckon most fans would rather see a rider who wants to ride for a club whatever the pay than a rider who rides for whatever club because of what they pay?

Plymouth Vs Rye House 19/08/2016 @ 1915
Sings4Speedway replied to pitgate52's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
With Ed's admission that he wants to do some longtrack rides next year i can't see a weekend track being very suitable anyway. Could easily see him at Ipswich in the PL next season along with lakeside. If anything i suspect the doubling up rules will be relaxed to allow Nicholls, Harris etc to do both British tiers..... -
About time Layne lived up to his early potential. Need to make strides at getting these signed up for next season early and perhaps not let their averages get to high? Think some other teams will be sniffing around Stoneman based on the early performances.

Is there any evidence that the GTR engines have been able to deliver the predicted performance with the reduced service intervals? As that is their biggest (only) selling point some actual substantiated data would be nice.
