  1. What it does mean is that if you sign Bjerre he'll probably be in reserve after 4 meetings
  2. They're continuing with last years race format. Which means we're doomed as King failed to average 5 as a heat leader. We're also going to lose out in the two reserve races. It makes our team look even worse knowing that now
  3. No, looking at his stats he was as consistent last year as he was the year before and the year before. Not as good maybe but certainly consistent.
  4. Apparently they're continuing with last years format. I think this deserves a LOL.
  5. Actually Bjarne is as consistent as speedway riders get.
  6. Jamrog got his average in the 1-5, Kacper got his in reserve. Barker and Josh G are not option as they'd be doubling up. I'm sure we were told the benefit of our reserves was a point extra to play with in the 1-5 (but I could have imagined that), thats turned out not to be true. If you look at Dolgin ratings, Coventrys bottom 3 are all lower rated than 5 or the 8 tier 1 reserves. So in effect Kacper is not consider to be as good as Worrall, Wright, Newman, Auty or Kerr.
  7. OK then, not me. Lets give Martin Knuckey a chance in the EL, he might be brilliant at it. Just because hes only a 7 point NL rider doesn't mean he won't be a 10 point EL rider and theres only one way to find out for sure isn't there? I've got £100 that said Kacper won't average 5 and £1000 that says he won't hit the 7.3 that Coventry have to play with. Anyone want to take me up on it?
  8. Musliak averaged more as a heat leader than a second string. He also rode 13 meetings as a second string and only 7 as a heat leader.
  9. This attitude makes me laugh. Tell you what, I'll sign for Lynn. You can't have an opinion until you have seen me ride, I may be amazing. It's not hard to 1. watch a few Polish meetings online and 2. Look at scores, who he has beat and how he's generally performed elsewhere. We haven't all gone, "Kacper Woryna - that sounds like the name of someone crap" - we have done a little research and he is NOT an EL second string level and unlike every other EL club we don't have the reserve power to cover him.
  10. I bet if you interviewed 10,000 speedway fans and asked what they thought was right about speedway and what was wrong that the play-offs would come a long way down the wrong column and very high up the right column. There are many far greater issues.
  11. Auty is as good as them now but I expect them to both start to get better than him soon and leave him where he is. I'm willing to accept that Howarth is still young and can improve (he needs to change his style though) but I just think he does well when the track is set up for him (ride he outside) rather than he is able to adapt to a track. For me it's no co-incidence that his worst two tracks are Wolves and Lynn, both track that you have to ride the white line. I just don't see him ever being a "force" and making it as a SWC rider. As for Doyle...
  12. Cook and John Louis are not fair comparisons. Auty has been racing speedway about 12 years now. Cook has be racing 6ish and is already well ahead. As for Louis he didn't take 10 years to only be a decent second division standard did he? Doyle was improving ever season too - some of us have always said he was a decent rider and rated him highly. Auty has been at the same level about 5 or 6 years now.
  13. Auty is not even relevant any more. He's the new Leigh Lanham. Lumped in with the youngsters but he's had his chance and it's passed him by. Decent enough rider but never going to be any more tha he is now. He's 25 now. As for Howarth, I just don't get him. He can on the right day score well but as a rider he seems totally flawed to me and incapable of riding the inside line on a track.
  14. Garrity joint top scored in the GB final (and finished 4th) while Kyle was sat at home watching it on tele. Jason averages 7.17 and Kyle 7.12. "For the record" and in the PL Garrity 8.33 vs Newman 6.73. So just how is it that Kyle is the better rider? For the record I like Kyle and would love to see him at Coventry but Jason is just very slightly ahead right now. I'd pick Jason to pull a ride out of the bag on a big occasion too. Admittedly he's far more likely to end up in the fence in a heap too
  15. Plus that would be 4 heat leaders, possibly even 5.
  16. It's already been stated that the 3 "heat leaders" might not be the beat leaders in terms of riding order. So if Wolves now sign Thorsell and Summers then Summers and Thorsell would be a heat leaders and Lindgren would be a second string with Bech.
  17. But if by running Leicester are going to lose more than that and ruin any future, it might be more sensible to sit out the season. Obviously I hope it doesn't come to this.
  18. Because he rides in reserve in the Polish 2nd division and it on a par with Jamrog and Wozniak who started last year on 5. Make him 7 if it makes you feel better - he still fits!
  19. He's a mate of Lewis Bridgers. With Bridger looking for mechanic for someone in 2016 you could find Bridger is in the Coventry pits next season
  20. Let just be thankful that for once we're arguing over how good and how ambitious a couple of young Brits are and see it for the positive it is. If only we could add a few more names to the list. If Kyle can continue his steady improvement and Jason can polish off them rough edges and get a little more consistency there no reason we can't see both riding for Team GB in a few years time and then for all the moaning of unfairness we'll be able to look back and say, "the draft worked"
  21. Well Barker is like Barker and is owned by Coventry and not signed by anyone else. So the rider like Barker that I would have signed is Ben Barker
  22. TBF, that team that started took a beating at Leicester. The 5 point Pole who wasn't looking like scoring was replaced by a man who averaged 7 (which also allowed King to average more) and changed the team.
  23. Probably because they had a 5 point gap and not a 7.5 gap?!
  24. So Coventry the first team completed and coming in 2.3 points below the limit if Woryna is a 5.
  25. From 24 hours ago feeling happy and confident to suddenly being really dejected and wondering where points are going to come from. To do well you tend to need a good reserve of a 4th heat leader. What do Coventry have? A 4th reserve!
