  1. I thought it'd been announced they were the reserves. Could be wrong though - maybe they're the red and blue start tarts??
  2. I agree. Especially as no speedway bike is ever going to 150mph! If they hit 70 they're going some! Plus isn't a speedway bike ( like most racing engines really) more about getting a steady and even power through the revs (or at least through the bit you use!) rather than the more the curved shaped (when looked at on a graph)?
  3. Doyle rode at Brandon 4 times in 2007. His second best meeting was in the play-offs. He was also the beat of your bottom 5! He beat 2 opponents? Boyce beat 1 while Batch and Boxall failed to beat anyone! By yeah, Batch let you down but eh was only a 5 point man and the Bees didn't have a single rider with a lower average.
  4. So Edinburgh and Glasgow are charging £20 for a LC final. Makes £20 for EL speedway seems good value!
  5. I bet 12 months ago you'd have happily paid £20 to see your team in a LC final!
  6. Thats the one I was thinking. I don't have one. I don't "do" programmes. Far to lazy to fill one in and I can remember most heats for a couple of hours so can often work out what riders have scored if I need to know. Or I ask someone near me! I'm sure 21CH will have one.
  7. He got 144mph out of a JRM/Jawa so in terms of top end speed theres not a lot between them.
  8. As I said on the Wolves thread. Just put the limit back up to 40, sign 7 riders. 2 of which have to be draft riders. That way if the draft riders do well they go up into the 1-5. Also, no more protected heats, we go back to the old format. They have two years of being protected and molly coddled, now they have to go out and do it with the only protection being the knowledge that a foreigner cannot replace them. Having the two best draft riders wont matter so much then as they'll take up more of your points and you'll lose out on your 1-5.
  9. Because he remembers how much he loves it riding for the Bees last time he guested!
  10. The only think I'd say makes a difference is the number of teams in the league at the time. More teams = harder to win a title. Poole have done it in 8-10 team leagues, BV did it with how many teams in the league? I make it 19,19 and 18 when BV won their 3 BL titles on the trot and 16 when they won the BL2 in 1969 so slightly more impressive.
  11. Thats me Just use speedwayupdates is another option. Don't writing or typing, its done for you. And if the meeting is crap you get a giggle reading Silver Bees comments!
  12. As my team isn't in the play-offs ill answer. Wallet says Sheffield, my British, back the underdog mentality says Plymouth. But my heart says Edinburgh. How great would an Edinburgh/Glasgow final be? The bitching and moaning and accusation so far would amount to nothing compared to what we'd get that week
  13. I don't see why they SHOULD be starting in the 1-5. I'd prefer they go back to a 40ish point point limit, but you have to include 2 draft riders. If that means Garritys converted average is 5 and that puts him 5th in the Bees average he starts in the 1-5, but if his 5 point average puts him 6th he starts in reserve but could very well find himself in the 1-5 after the first set of averages. There were no rules in the past that said who couldn't ride in reserve, so why now? By allowing riders to ride in any position we have in effect given them two years to see whats it's about, to see how far they are off the big boys but now we're in effect setting them free. Have a year of that before bringing in a rule that says you have to have 3 draft riders. Then you will hopefully be able to start looking at a Poland style rule of both reserve being GB under 21s and 2 of your 1-5 have to be British. There should be some plan, it doesn't have to be rigidly stuck to but there should at least be some idea of what might/could happen. My worry at the moment is we have a great youth series, have done for a while now. We're also working with the youngsters to get them into the EL. But what are we doing in the middle? We have MDL and NL but then all help stops until they are EL ready. The PL HAS to do something too. Not really Wolves related sorry!
  14. I'll let you off I wouldn't forgive anyone this easily, I hope you appreciate this Even better for the paying public if it's a Glasgow Edinburgh final with 3 riders missing for the GP
  15. Edinburgh riders are not "going home", they're riding in a GP. It's a little different TBF.
  16. As long as you print off the right kind of race card you only have to write the names in once anyway! just fill in the heat from left to right then.
  17. What a joke! Surely if the cut off date was this week, then play-off meeting should be being run this week, next week at the latest!
  18. Well if they have Woffy, he didn't ride EL last year so can't be be a draft rider? He's younger than some of them!!
  19. TBF BV lost Stead and got Grajzonek in his place. They also score 40 in every away meeting. If you add just 1 point on to every one of their league meetings, they actually gained 7 league points and leap ahead of Swindon and by virtue of turning their home draw with Coventry into a win go ahead of Coventry on race points. I do agree Lynn were unlucky though and have already said so. It does make you realise how close the league would have been without injury and how Swindon, who have ended up 8 points behind Poole could have actually missed out on the play-offs!
  20. Principle? How so? Pretty much every other sport changes more for bigger games, matches or meetings. Why should Coventry Speedway be different?
  21. Yawn. It's a play-off semi final. Does £2 really make that much difference? This week walk to work once in stead of taking the bus? Or if you drive drive properly and calmly and you'll save your £2 in fuel (and wear on your brakes). Makes me laugh that people complain about £2 for one speedway meeting but most people waste more than that every week without even thinking!
  22. It's not luck if you can't stay on your bike! Next you'll be saying it's unlucky that a rider finished in front of someone! It's skill, or lack of that causes riders to fall!
  23. Bombers head could be falling off and I'd rated him as 50/50! Has he ever missed a meeting due to injury? I honestly can't remember it happening, ever.
  24. Before worrying about a number 8 Cradley needed a number 7!
